I bought a 106 pdl a couple of years ago and its been great to fish out of. I got some stuff from Navarre for it as well. I put an extra prop on the bottom of the front hatch lid with zip ties. I keep extra carter pins in the dry storage hatch on the drive, just in case. I've caught a ton of fish out of mine. It was the best 1800$ I could have spent. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do. 👊👍
definitely looks like a great kayak there, definitely like the color too. Nicely well done here, each and every fish was worth catching and the time too. Also I bought two packs of those pautzke garlic scented fireworms and I cannot wait to go and use them.
I downsized to the 106 this year also. Much happier with it and honestly see no difference in stability and I’m a big dude. Much easier to move around and just manage in general. Especially since I still car top.
Siiick boat and sweet to see it move channels, you guys have me looking at OldTown PDL’s to move up from the old Moken 12.5 V1. l’m also pumped on Paul’s new NuCanoe Unlimited.
Very nice! Do you plan to keep all the upgrades since you're more bare bones? I listen to the Whatever's Biting podcast because I watch Creek videos & started watching your videos now too. Love the ultralight fishing content.
Thanks so much! I’ll probably keep most of it on there because it’s easier than adjusting it out. That being said, part of me wants to remove the heavy metal rudder and go back to plastic to reduce total weight. That thing seems like overkill in my opinion.
What size if seat rizers did you use in this video? Did you do both front and rear or just the rear? Thank you. Trying to put together a wishlist for when I pick up a 106 PDL. Thank you.
I got the pdl 120. Im probably gunna be more barebones like you. I wish id known how hard it was gunna to be to roof rop this thing solo on my 2019 equinox. Man is it a pain.
Gotta hit the weights lol it was not fun to load that thing up. One recommendation cut a pool noodle down to the length of the gap between your roof racks and string some rope through it. Use it as a little rest spot to lean the kayak against while topping it. Avoid dents and scratches.
Did you record the fishing from that day? It is my second favorite launch spot in the region and would love to see how you tackled it. (also probably will be sad as I often struggle there)
Excellent choice! I just got the 106. Have about 25 hours of finishing in it. The upgrades made to that boat in the video is EXACTLY what I have planned to my 106. I do have a serious question: Which size seat risers do you use? I’m not sure which to get… Any recommendation would be greatly appreciated!! Tight lines!!
I never had the seat risers before and never had issues so I can’t say I’m the guy to ask. Paul did all this stuff otherwise I probably would have done the bare minimum lol
Paul had it registered for electric motors but I’ll personally avoid that. I have no need for motors on this pedal drive system at this time. Maybe someday!
His rambling kills me, we don’t need an explanation of every single detail and every possible option involved in it. It’s a reason I don’t watch their channel much. Their rambling is irritating
I thought the explanation was clear and concise. I guess we are all are seeking different content, but I appreciate all the time and energy creators put into making content. It is definitely a labor of love.
@@micahspilker9322 it just always seems as the aggressively average anglers speak they are trying to make a 1000 word essay about everything. It gets annoying, I love fishing content specifically kayak fishing but the way they go about it is mind numbing sometimes. Nothing personal may be who they are, I think it’s more for content though unfortunately
I think feedback is definitely a blessing, but it’s all about how you say it. Thanks for providing your perspective, Danny. At the end of the day, I put my authentic self out there and so do the AA Anglers fellas. We aren’t for everyone, but I trust that the folks who enjoy the content will continue to watch. No judgement either way! Tight lines brotha 👊🏽🤠👊🏽
Hey that’s Paul! Be careful Ethan, Paul tends to break things! Very nice Kayak build from Paul! enjoyed watching Jolene catches!
Lol I have been breaking lots of stuff lately so I can’t complain about Paul 😂😵💫
Looks like a very cool kayak, Ethan! I'll be looking forward to seeing it in future videos!
Thanks Dan!!
Time for new memories in the 105 brother. Jolene was true and you've had great times together. You'll have the 105 memories in no time
This kayak will surely catch me tons of fish too. I always enjoy mixing things up :)
I have an SS107 and have never felt that I needed more boat. It's the perfect size. You'll love the 106.
I still have yet to fish in a Bonafide. Maybe someday!

Thanks Samuel sounds like you have an excellent rig 👊🏽👊🏽 I think I’ll have a lot of fun in this bad boy.
Ethan hope you a long and fun time with your new kayak it's a nice kayak
Thanks Ray 👊🏽👊🏽
Thinking about doing the same thing. The 120 is SOOO HARD to car top
It requires a lot of effort. If I had a truck I’d keep the 120 but it just doesn’t make sense for my current lifestyle.

It’s gonna be a great rig!
@@FishAnything 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
For sure it is
I love my 106. I car topped it for the most part and without mods, it’s a very manageable weight.
I think it’ll be a really fun kayak. I’m sure I’ll miss the 120 at times, but the 106 should make my life easier more often than not.
I downsized to the 106 this year also. Much happier with it and honestly see no difference in stability and I’m a big dude. Much easier to move around and just manage in general. Especially since I still car top.
So reassuring to see this! Thanks for sharing.

The Old Town kayaks are really hard to beat from what I can tell. I need to experiment with more brands to know that for sure, though.
@@FishAnything They sure look sweet! I’ve got another year or 2 to ride out in the FeelFree, though.
@@FishAnything If you should ever sell the 106, I’ll make the trip to Michigan from NC to pick it up!

Does that make this kayak "Pauline"?
Lmao I am not going to name it after Paul 😭😂
Sweet!
👊🏼 thanks!
Ayeee check out that Biggin sticker!
Looks great!!
I went from a 12' kayak to a 10' kayak to a 15' canoe haha! Ironically the canoe is the lightest of the lineup.
Funny how that works! Who knows what I’ll own in the future?!

Just in the rear and idk how tall they are - maybe 2” or so? I don’t think they’re necessary tbh
Hey Ethan, can we expect a video on the Gekkabijin rod anytime soon?
I’m planning on making that before the year is up! Thanks for the reminder!
@@FishAnything I can't wait! I have it in my cart as we speak. Very few reviews on it.

@FishAnything your welcome 💯🎣
I really, really want a 106 pdl. Maybe one day.
Hope so! It’s a cool kayak
I see its registered? Do you put a motor on it?... I think I will get the 106, thanks.
