I have a 2022 Aviator Grand Touring & use the WAZE App on my iPhone for NAV. I’m unable to view the interior (HVAC) temp while connected to CarPlay & if I want to change it using temp up/down buttons, can’t see what new temp is I’m setting. Apparently, Lincoln removed the pop up circle that used to show when adjusting temp when connected to CarPlay?? So, the only way to ID current temp or know what you’re changing it to (while using Carplay), is to go from CarPlay back to SYNC, view or change interior temp then go back to CarPlay. Any ideas on work arounds to solve this distracted driving dilemma?
Hmm I never thought of the lack of a dock with that basic info on it when I shoot these videos. Unfortunately there wouldn't be a way to get a split screen or dock so you're stuck doing what you're doing already. I'd recommend reaching out to Lincoln Canada or USA directly and let them know it's a feature you'd want to see. It's looking like the 2024 will be the same as the existing model with an upgrade to the Sync4 system that would feature that temp/time dock for 2025
Thx! I already reached out to Lincoln concierge & they say ‘it’s working as designed’. Why they’d remove this feature (on models after 2021 I believe) is beyond me.
Agree, ours is a 2022 Reserve and same challenge with the temp readout while CarPlay/maps are on. Must touch Lincoln way to see temp. Also can’t turn off/on auto start/stop at a red light without going into lots of Lincoln driver settings. Our 2022 Escape has a button you can use to turn it on and off.
@carswithsteve I am contemplating trading in my 2024 Nautilus Premere II for a 2024 Aviator Reserve I or II. My question is, do all Aviators have the features you are going over? I am driving an Aviator Reserve loaner vehicle currently from Lincoln, with an added option package, I can't remember what it is called but something to do with darker windo tint, etc. I don't think the one I am driving has some of these features. Anyhow, I have been going through the features in the one I am driving b/c it is for sale and I am trying to get to know it. So far I LOVE how the Aviator drives / handles, MUCH better than the new Nautilus. I had a Mercedes GLC 300 w/ AMG package and should have known the drive between the two would be completley different, but I was all dazzeled by the technology in the '24 Nautilus and lost my mind lol
All current generation (2020-2024) Aviators will have the same screen tech as what's shown here but some things, like massage seats and air suspension, are optional. The Aviator will have wired CarPlay and Android Auto vs wireless in your Nautilus. The next gen 2025 Aviators have an updated look and more current tech that's more in line with your current car. The 2 do handle differently and the new Nautilus is definitely dazzling comparatively :P
I did it! I was able to get out of my 2024 Nautilus lease and got into a new 2024 Aviator! I am so excited and so happy that I am no longer dealing with the multitude of issues with my Nautilus that I had. I love Lincoln but the Nautilus with the new software and all of the issues that service departments don't understand or are not willing to fix or no longer my problem!
One of the key reasons why they're finally updating the screen for the 2025 model but they unfortunately won't roll out updates to older models for overly improved functionality. How are you liking the Aviator otherwise?

So odd.. but working as designed doesn't mean working optimally. Ah well. If only these screens could be customized a bit

I have a 2023 Reserve. I find the entire system very clunky and laggy. I wish they would give us a software update.

@@CarsWithSteve We've had it for just a few weeks, but LOOOOOOVE it.
That's a plus, enjoy the new ride!
