Grew up in Prairie City. Haven't been back to Strawberry Mt. for years. I live in Idaho now. If you are still into hiking check out the Seven Devils out of Riggins Idaho.

I’ll put it on the list, thanks. We hiked 20 Mile Lakes near McCall some years ago. I’d love to have some more adventures in Idaho.

Enjoyed your video immensely. Brings back wonderful past memories of when I was a boy growing up in Grant County. My younger brother, Dale Rasmussen, and his girlfriend Mary, hiked up to Little Strawberry Lake a couple of weeks ago (July, 2019). Mary had never seen Big Strawberry nor Little Strawberry. While enjoying the beauty of Little Strawberry, an unexpected storm blew in. Not having adequate cover for hail like you guys experienced, Dale found a rock somewhere up in the boulders above Little Strawberry that had sufficient overhand where they could stay out of the rain and hail until the storm passed. Dale said the lightening and thunder was pretty "exciting" up that high. First time Mary had ever experienced anything like that. She loved it. (That makes her MARRIAGE MATERIAL for my mountain goat brother. Where are you guys from, by the way? What prompted you to go to Strawberry Lake? Those were some nice looking fish on the stringer. Glad to know there are still nice sized fish coming out of the lake. Last time I was at Strawberry Lake was around 15 years back now. Saw a number of eagles fishing the lake in late afternoon. Never saw them as a kid growing up. Was exciting to see them snatch hold of trout, and circle the lake, slowly gaining altitude. Watched a number of them fly all the way to the very top of the cliffs before they landed with their catch. Assumed they had their nests up there.

NormRasmussen1, thanks man. We’re a group of friends mostly out of the Willamette Valley in the Eugene area, with one guy coming up from Klamath Falls. We hike all over Oregon and Northern California. Strawberry has been on our list for a while, we’ll definitely be back for more in the future.

@@GoVentureNorth Climb every chance you get! With severe back issues setting in for several years affecting my legs ... my mountain climbing years are done. But thank goodness for thoughtful people like you who will videotape your experiences and post them on TH-cam! You're making OLD MEN HAPPY.
