I cannot say enough good things about this and all your videos! They are so relaxing which is ironic because of the very hard work you two are doing! Your videos are so cinematic, like professionally done! Does anyone else feel bummed when they end? Love to Alex and Gail and thanks for being our friends❣️
I've been watching you guys for about 5 yrs first mudlarking but this home of yours is so beautiful I know hard work pays off .your home is coming along great I love watching the progress.
Perhaps you could provide the history of your home, and who owned it before you. I am Canadian, but I have numerous ancestors from your area of Scotland, and would find this info very interesting.
Awesome work ladies, your constantly on the go. From one thing to another! Amazing how every plant is in its place. I can only imagine Gail, how proud your mom is of you. Alex has been raised very well and takes after you mama ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜😊
We live in Australia and the ground here can be unforgivingly hard, I use a garden fork for digging, it breaks into the soil easier than a spade/shovel, then use the spade to remove the soil.
Your home is beautiful and the hard work and passion you have put into your home it shows that you really have gone above and beyond! It’s amazing Your garden looks great
Your garden is truly transformed with your monumental efforts.💪 Alex I think you have reached the fun stage in your room, I know you will make it lovely. 🤗❤️🌈🙏🕊️
2 OF THE HARDEST WORKING, BEAUTIFUL WOMEN, MAKING THEIR WORLD A SPECIAL, INVITING PLACE FOR US TO VIEW FROM AFAR! AMAZING WORK LOVED AND APPRECIATED, FROM AUSTRALIA XXX
I'd never realised how much work and subtlety can go into a garden. Nice to see one of you having a rest. Your hard work always makes me want to have a cup of tea.
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!! SOMETIMES FUNNY AND VERY INTERESTING. I LOVE HOW THE ßHREWS INVESTIGATE EVERYTHING YOU DO, SO CUTE. WOW, LOTS TO RAKE AND CLEAN, BUT TOTALLY WORTH IT. YOUR GARDENS LOOK AMAZJNG, AND THE FLOIWERS ARE GROWING NICELY. I LOVE LILACS. TRIED TO MAKE PURFUME BUT ,DIDN'T TURN OUT. BOO HOO!! LOL!! THE WORK YOUR DOING IS SO WORTH IT TO RENEW WHAT ONCE WAS OLD. THANKS FOR SHARING AND STAY SAFE 🙏 ❤❤🙏🙏
Dear Gail & Alex, I don’t know if you have a compost heap or bin, but you may want to put a shredder/ mulcher on your list. They are $500 here in NZ for a decent one, but they shred garden waste - including branches - and this means it can be put straight on the compost. Our compost bin is four pallets with 8 big screws holding it together. After a year, we take one side off, take off the top 25% & put it aside. The rest is lovely soil. The top becomes the bottom of the new bin. We put everything in the compost, even cardboard shredded, paper towels, vacuum cleaner detritus, ash, kitchen scraps ( the stuff that the chooks won’t eat). Some folk have two side by side, you probably have enough garden waste for that! Love your videos❤❤❤❤ keep going Alex. I can see your Dark Academia hints coming through. I’ve sent out thoughts into the universe for a beautiful, perfect mantelpiece to come your way…and hearth…and hearth stone… xxxxx
That’s a great idea! I have one of those square plastic ones with a lid and it’s a bit inadequate. I only have a small residential block but I garden a lot. How long do you find the Pallets stand up to rot? They are easy enough to obtain at the loading docks of big businesses
Your place is looking amazing already. Your plants, bushes and flowers are are bustling with life. You seem to know what to plant where and simply watch them thrive. I wish you the very best in all your endeavors. Another beautiful vide. Thanks.😊
You're an incredible bunch of ladies to watch. Always love watching the birds following you around the yard. I was a Gordon before I got married and my family is from Scotland. Love the old homestead!
I can see all of your hard work paying off ,the place is looking great !! I can also appreciate all the effort put in by you both ,As I am doing similar work and things myself this summer ,working at a old hospital that is now a Band B up here in Argyll . lets hope the weather holds out for a while longer . Alex ,stop sanding and paint that BLOODY room already ,LOL can't wait to see it finished .
It has been a long time since my last contact, but I watch all you programs with out fail, This one prompted me to make a suggestion. You both do a great amount of labor in keeping the homestead in top shape. I viewed many many of the comments for this video and saw nothing about the following approach. Get some "Sheep or Goats" for the pasture areas of the property. If you can not afford the initial outlay to own them, locate a local herder who would lease your pastures. If the fences are in need of up grade have the herdsman assist. You can negotiate something which will reduce a great deal of labor, the waste of the fodder and possibly provide some income from the property. Just food for thought. It has been at least two years ago I sent a package. While at this I surly miss your craft programs that were mixed with videos. Kent in this
Your home is beautiful. Even more so because you care so much for it. Renovating the inside and outside. The flower's are doing so well. The rose bed is looking beautiful. Those pink roses are stunning. I hope they are as beautiful to smell as look at. 😍 You did a great job removing all that overgrown area. Well done to you both. 😊x
Tell ManShwoo that his time spent lounging in front of his mirror while others work is just playing to stereotype. Glad to see that you remember to water your hanging basket. I was very bad about watering mine more than once or twice before forgetting they exist. This spring I finally cracked vertical gardening by setting reminders on my phone.
The garden is coming along beautifully Gail. James is doing a great job keeping the grass at a good length without a drop of sweat!! Alex, perhaps all that long grass that you have cut can be dried and sold as fodder to a farmer in the area. All that hard work warrants a cup of tea and a biscuit, will put something on Kofie for you both next week.
Gale was he helping you while you were digging the hole.Shew is adorable.Alex I love to watch you do thins, but also remember to take a outside break.❤u both
I was watching you with my wife. I'm concerned with the sanding; did you test for lead in the paint. If there is lead in the paint, a respiratory, alone, may not be enough protection. A safer technique may be more appropriate, such as using a paint stripper & PPE. I've watched your channel before. I enjoy your channel.
She used paint stripper first, yes it was lead paint, the sanding is mainly on the previously stripped wood, just to even things out where she scrapped the paint off. I believe her respirator has a filter in it too.
Sharon here.... This morning, watching your lovely video and drinking a cup of tea. Relaxing on this grey possibly rainy day here in Maryland, USA. The birds, chickens and kittycat entertaining me as well the lovely views. Your gardens are shaping into a wonderland retreat! Have a cup of tea and relax ladies, you must be tired after a day of gardening! See you next video.... 👍❤☺
I do enjoy your videos of you working on your homestead Gail and Alex. When I saw Gail hoisting the grass onto the trolley I was thinking all she needs now is a clay pipe clenched between her teeth to complete that farmer vibe. We fell and we can’t get up 😆😆 yes those definitely look like rain clouds. Those schwoos cert are curious about your activities. I have a cat that loves hugs just as much as your schwoo 😆😆
Lovey day ladies! Beautiful day for gardening and sanding down…great job Alex….so happy for your advancing. This surely will pay off…can’t wait to see the finish bedroom. Your beautiful bird has surely grown so much, i saw when she came home to you and how you took care of her, so lovely no wonder they are so attached to you…sweet! Stay well and warm this winter…🌹greetings from California…🌼
I love your videos U2 I have got things looking good love the music you play. I’m anxious to see Alex’s fireplace finished and entry finished. Keep up the good work girls.❤😊
Your landscaping is looking very beautiful! The peafowl are so curious ; they make me smile. I keep hoping you will unearth a treasure when are gardening.
Wow that was a lot of work, both in the garden and your bedroom.. now comes the fun of preparing and painting your room. Take care and thank you for sharing 👏🙏❤️
It makes me happy to watch you two bring life back into the things around you. It's an amazing thing! Thanks for another great video. Wishing you well till next time!
You two work so well together its lovely to see. Its all looking very tidy now. Thank you for sharing your days with us.🐝 Have you still got your parrot?
You definitely need to build a good stone ramp from the field to the house where the stone wall is. That would be a lot better than steps with all the work you do. Love your videos!
Love the title to this vid. I agree I love it too a gorgeous setting for a beautiful home. A lot of hard work being applied. Watching you two makes me happy. Watching the Shroos as well love them very nosey. Keep safe and well Gail and Alex. Regards. To you both.
As you keep planting more beautiful trees and flowers I look forward to their blooming, the Peonies are just incredible as are all your flowers. Of course, the Shwoos managing the planting is a definite advantage ! Sorry this comment is so late, I can't seem to get caught up on my favs. 🙄 Much love and hugs 🥰🥰 xx
I was filming early this morning as I found the morning so intriguing. There was a silence I heard in the bird songs and a distant wind chime. The mist on the tall evergreens added to the mysterious feeling. It was a lot like what you were filming of the land and the fog. You two are doing such a wonderful job with your Scottish homestead. Tee
Hello Gail and Alex! Everything is coming along beautifully and all the flowers are so pretty. So nice to have the automated lawn mover cutting grass while you're doing other things...too awesome! Love seeing the Shwoo's, they are so curious and want to be in the middle of everything.😂Lol Can't wait to see what's next. Have a great day...Big hugs from Texas!😍🤗🤩
Hawkweed, bedstraw, Sweet William geranium--all are considered noxious weeds! Why do the plants with pretty colors have to be so considered! Have you gathered any seeds to plant around your land for your cordial supply? Ankle grinders are pretty handy to have around. Be safe out there and enjoy the sunshine. We always get fog that rolls in from the Strait of Juan de Fuca at this time of year. What a refreshing, cool relief. 70° temperatures are too high, but still get out there to pick litter from the ditches and roadsides. Our island is composed of basalt and glacial till. There are four pitmines on the north end that supply for repair of all our roads.😊
I don't think I've ever seen Bunty's tail up that high before. it's beautiful 🩷. edited to add: I just thought of the best collab ever! I need Sarah from She Walks She Paints and Living the Skye Life to paint your Schwoo family! She would do such a lovely job, I would die to add that to my collection of her prints 🩷

Lol you are replanting a lilac and I am removing suckers to reclaim some of my property. I have several well established ones trying to form a .25 acer grove
I dont know if it helps but i have seen stone wall maintained by burning everything just below them to ensure they are not broken apart by plant growth
to stop the rather vicious pecking order - an extra bowl? i have kept hens most of my life and have to say as much as i love them - you do not often see care between the species to one another ............as adults
That's quite a walk from the washing line, why don't you get a laundry trolley to carry your washing to and fro. Can be any type of trolley though, with appropriate wheels.😁👋🦘

But wouldn't it be easy to find them then? Think of all the crazy people online😬
It looks like something from a Beatrix Potter story with all the hens and cats and life slowly drifting by…
It seems so idyllic! But, it is exceptionally hard work and those ladies make it look almost effortless!
Those birds love you so much! They just want to help you! Lol.
They know garden work stirs up bugs & worms!

They are cheeky wee things! 😄
Peafowls like cats seem to see themselves as executive management rather than labor.

I agree with you but I wonder why people have forgotten the word “an” to be used when the next word starts with a vowel.
Nettles make beautiful paper. It has long and strong fibres like flax.
Nice twine and cloth too.

Have you ever thought about pressure washing your house? I think it would be so beautiful and look stunning .
The mortar in between would probably wash out with the force

I love these videos! Although I was praying you wouldn’t fall out of the window! 😬
Yes put shoos pen up on brick wall will help the grass be kept tidy . ❤😊
Love your videos. Love the green! It will be like living in a forest. ❤
I use a garden fork to loosen up the soil when I'm digging a hole.
I like the wall idea for the Shwoo House, maybe some vining flowers around it. Pretty ❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊

We need people like you working for the local council. Our towns would improve vastly if you were in charge of the laziness that goes on.
You are lucky to see that squab (young pigeon).
I see you reading about stinging nettle. When I began menopause I became allergic or sensitive to a few things and developed hives. I read about making a tea from nettles. It worked; it’s a natural antihistamine.
Do you use the dried or fresh leaves? I'll research.
@@samcollage7682 I used dried.
Thank you for the inspiration. Sending you love from Indiana!
Oh my lord Alex please pit something across the open window so you don't fall out when doing the sanding. You gave me palpitations 😊
