@@mato9282 Def agree with you there, they so chill together it's bliss, beats the screaming and everyone talking over each other to the point of being painful
Hi Mate, always love seeing your posts pop up. I am excited to say that in the next week or so, I will take delivery of my very own 1450 for Northside Marine. A couple of months back, I spoke with Jason about upgrading my tinny, and without hesitation, he handed me the Stabicraft brochure. I think I was instantly hooked, but your videos made the 1450 an easy choice. This morning, I got a sneak peek of some of the 2024 1450 upgrades and, must say, some very pleasant surprises. It just get better and better, I plan on putting a video up so people can see. Keep up the great work; your openness and transparency are refreshing. Any man who ventures into the ocean in a Kayak is someone to be respected. You are a braver man than I am. I would be keen for a 1450 dual trip one day if you are up to it.
Excellent video! Awesome eats. I remember fishing bonito, yellowtail/amberjack, and calico bass off La Jolla, and Point Loma in San Diego in the late 60's, 70's, 80's. Some of the best numbers ever. 👍🐟
Not sure if I told you but you were my first TH-cam subscription. From the kayak to the better kayak to the small inflatable to quitting your job to the bigger inflatable to the boat... Your episodes are like a fishing trip. That's why I Love them. You have great trips, bad trips and everything in between. But we get to see the set up, maybe the location or drive, the cool morning start out on the water. Such a treat, all of it. Thanks, Rod, for the continued excellent filming, trips, good, bad and all the effort into your awesome editing. My first channel and hopefully my longest lasting :)
Half a lifetime ago when I lived in Rose Bay (now up in QLD), we used to fish the wooden white markers in the harbor for kings, flicking plastics and dropping a live bait more often then not resulted in a king. The corner of Rose Bay/Vaucluse was always worth a troll at first light in the summer months.
Great video!!! I needed this after watching almost 5 stinking inches of snow fall 😠😡And now, as per usual, I am hungry!! Wonderfall as always Rod XOXOX
Some of my favorite content to watch. Love your videos and when you fish with friends. The meals always look fantastic. Makes me wish I was back in the Florida Keys again. Love it! Be well, guys.
I absolutely love that recipe, I usually do anchovies and garlic with some slices of lime or lemon on top, and it also goes brilliantly with a herb breadcrumb topping. Well done, it looks delicious and has inspired me to get that recipe back into my rotation.
The guy cutting the fish and tomatoes knows his business cutting on the backstroke. Always slice on the backstroke like a culinary samurai. A sprinkle of seasoned breadcrumbs would have been nice.
That's such a blast when you get a bunch of hot fish stacked up underneath you! Those Bonito are hard fighters, looked like a lot of fun. And that bait that had the clean bite taken out at 7:53 - like you said, holy smokes! Was that a tailor? Bad ass fish, whatever it was. No skinny dipping there for me, he'd take your pecker clean off! Always a great way to start the weekend, thanks and take care Rod.
Your in the right spot for livies at the first place. I find burley really helps! Small sinker the size of a pea and smaller hook sabikis so it floats a bit more naturally. And go right in to the corner where it's shallow.
We will call them choppers as well here, a lot of times though when we say “choppers blues” probably talking about a bigger blue? I like blue fish fresh, a lot folks look down their noses at em but they are good straight out the water. Cheers man, looked like a fun day
Good vid, man. Nice to see ur in good company. Lovely dish u shared. Greeks know, they have Mediterranean blood, which also flows through our Catalan veins. Have you ever heard of "Arròs Negre"? Rice cooked with bits of squid and tinted black with the ink gland they carry? "Black rice" in English. Look it up, it's deelish.!!
Thanks for another great video. Really interesting to see you fishing in your old back yard. You mentioned tailor off the rocks - I still spin up the big ones from time to time but usually in March/April where I fish on the Northern beaches. I seem to get the biggest in the pre-dawn.
I love all the videos you put up, I love seeing the live kayak videos and the ones where you camp on the island and fish around the perimeter. Island tent camping was great. I love the boat!! Are you able to go to new islands further out than you were able to on the pocket rocket? Much love and respect!!
I went to Sydney for the first time last week. Took the ferry to manly of course. I would have loved to have spent a lot more time exploring the harbour and doing some fishing. What a place !
I'm only a little bit envious lol 😄 you always bring fantastic content and views wherever you go, two top Guys addicted to Ocean life and food, both great cooks ✌️👍👍Thanks !🤿💙Love It. Btw. I am on a little Island in Thailand, underwater is my fav. and the food😅
Onya Rokkit 👍 Just planted a finger lime, bloody leaf miners are killing me. Inconsistent watering or rain and or lack of potassium sulphate makes the citrus fruit drop early
Better put old mate on boat washing duties. Bloody amateurs 😂. I cringe everytime i net a squid in my yak too. Its a process to keep them pointed away from you lol.
You would have saved some time catching the yakkas at the jetty before you launched. They are stacked up under there. A piece of mince beef on each hook and that bait tank would have been full in 10 mins.
Farkkkk bro I’m camping in lake Illawarra tonight would be mad if you came down but ik it’s a long shot should really plan to do a camping mission buddy boating would be mad I’ve got a 480 coast runner with 150lt of fuel can basically go anywhere hay
Fantastic Video! I loved the bonito action. I will get out to the same spot and have a go next week. I am just wondering what Bait board you have? Would love to grab one.
Live baits were thick rod ! And it's so much fun when they wake up and run when they see the boat nice bonito. Thanks for the magic you create. And it's awsame to see the big blue fish and the story again of you and your father fishing as a kid off the rocks was nice to see your perfected style catching these tasty fish. What size reel were you using for your live baiting? In the authority range?
Ya good thanks jarod cheers for asking🤙 How are you bro? God I love the adventure rod has created over the years. I recon he should start screen printing his shirts again I would buy some merch of him for sure👍

Once again killing the simple fishing / simple recipe game. Mark always makes those dishes look so easy
Right on time - thanks for these fantastic videos. Without a doubt my favourite channel Rod😊
I look forward to seeing the bonito every year. This year was a funky one in San Diego. Good size fish when they popped up.
Thank you for the very enjoyable video, Rod and Mark 😍 Great fishing and inspiring cooking!

Lmao “he’s having a bad day”😂😂😂
“He’s got a bit of beans all of sudden!”
“He’s full of beans!”
wtf Rod, the phrasing in this episode is next level 🤣😭
Rod we used to fill old soft drink bottles for ice, or Milk cartons, you bust em up before you leave simple ice solution
Bloody oath, my bait freezer in the shed is half full of frozen bottles

I’ve spent most of my life living in this area so the heads, Rose Bay (where the boat went in) and Watsons Bay (ice run) are so familiar to me.

Well done yet again. So appreciate your content Man.
Thanks Rod and Mark, food looked so tasty 😊
Try a second gang hook 4 inches below on the tail for the bite that comes at the back. You will get that back bite.even use wire from the main hook.

@JonathanMark-sf5tm Agreed, the merch is overdue. All back in routine after school holidays.
Can you use a cast net in Australia?
That is a good question. I don't believe I have seen any of the other vloggers in Australia use them either.
You can in Queensland but not in New South Wales. I actually just brought one for use back home, so soon it will be coming along… but I need to learn how to use it because I grew up in NSW so never thrown one😅
Always enjoy the uploads with Mark, will try this recipe. Any other types of fish you would recommend for this? Mark needs his own cooking channel.
Yea my wife tried it with some spotted mackerel steaks yesterday and it was great too👍
If you catch a nice one, but have no ice, can you put them on a stringer in the water while you carry on fishing to keep them fresh and alive, or would they likely get eaten?
❤❤❤
How do you have your live bait tank? Thinking of something similar for my 4.15

Bluefish have CRAZY teeth
Lets go!
pretending i'm an Aussie: mahk's ghat noice leegs
Not even close 😂
ok where’d he get those knife skills?
Has anyone fished a bait contra to how it's supposed to be fished?🤔 Maybe jigging a dead bait, etc... any luck?
Are castnets illegal there?
only in some states in OZ, this video in in NSW so yes illegal 👍
Should of put some squid in with it as well
A cast net would get most of that bait in one go. Assuming not allowed where you at
Yep, no cast nets allowed in NSW👍
How can you leave chicken shapes unfinished Rod.???????
🔥👍🔥👍
🎣👍👍❤️
That stone dulls the blade.
The Blueish chopping board is not stone, its a plastic board made from old fishing nets salvaged from the ocean👍
@@rokkitkit gotcha it sounded like it was something that would dull the blade rather than being a soft surface.
