How was the ride with it? I plan on renting either there chevy pickup truck and trailer to haul my 03 chevy suburban or then moving trucks and there trailer. But i want to know if there trucks and trailers will withstand a drive from Evansville Indiana to Charlotte North Carolina
I pulled the trailer + suburban with my brother's dodge durango. The engine pulled just fine, but it was a VERY heavy load for that durango. Had to stay at 50-55mph or the trailer would sway quite a bit, but it made it ok. I only had a 3hr drive. Bottom line--yes, it will handle it, but give yourself a lot of extra time and be incredibly patient.
Collapsed lifter. Typical thing with GM hydraulic lifters used to shut off 4 of the cylinders when not needed for fuel economy. Ended up deleting them and putting in normal lifters for all 8 cylinders, then tuning out the AFM (active fuel management) system. I
So how you book get from Uhaul to rent it every time I tried they say it’s not recommended is there a trick to rent it AT like not providing correct info or what ?
I couldn't get it from actual Uhaul place (since I'm not willing to lie), but I found a private company "pawn shop" that had some side gig renting uhauls. He didn't ask any questions. lol
It may fit, but I’d be worried about a tire on the trailer blowing out from excessive weight and causing an accident and being sued. U-Haul insurance wont hold up once they figure out you towed a suburban. I think those are only rated for 5500 lbs and a suburban is like 7500 lbs.
@@ryanalexander984 A 2wd Suburban is only 5,300 lbs. Where did you get 7,500 lbs from? Uhaul trailer tires are a lot harder than they need to be. They run about 50-70 psi in them.
@@blackericdenice quick google search of 2010( I guessed) suburban gvwr, 7200-8600 gvwr. Figured 2wd was on the light end 4wd was on the heavy end. Sorry. My kid was filming, and I really wasn't thinking about anyone else watching the video. Short answer: It fit. All straps secured it as intended, and it survived the 300 mile trip just fine.

I think the scariest thing is towing it with a Durango.
Its a heavy duty 2500. With the 3.6 though
Terrible spot to be standing, there, spotter.
Did it fit? You didn't show the back to show wheels cleared
All 4 wheels were on, and it survived the 300 mile trip home.
@@mymorristribe thanks
Im honestly impressed.... With a sturdier tow rig, thats probably not that bad.
What about gmc crew-cab sierra. Will that trailer suffice? Asking nervously
No. It will be too long. The internet suggests that even the short bed version is longer than a suburban. Sorry.

Prec it
Scary (I am talking about the ticking noise from the Suburban).

Nice! Do you think this can work for a full size pickup like a Sierra/Silverado crew cab?
My old crewcab 1500 short bed chevy was the same length as my suburban. But, a long bed probably wouldn't fit. I had maybe 2 inches to spare if that.
Will a 06 Silverado extended cab with a 6 foot bed fit ?
is xl surburban o regula cab?
There is only one size for a suburban. It's similar length to a crewcab fullsize pickup truck.
The Suburban not have a flat tow option to use the dolly instead of the full trailer?
I would have preferred a dolly, but none (that would work) was available for rent in the small town of Roswell, NM.
I’ve wondered would a Suburban fit on that trailer. I’ve put a 96 4x4 Tahoe on one.
Just barely, but it did and it survived the 5hr road trip back home.

Trailer rated for 5200, Suburban weighs 5800, could be worse, could be worse
yep, it was a bit sketchy, but that trailer handled it just fine. Cheers!
Would this work for a Yukon XL
Yep. I sold a yukon xl to buy this suburban. Exact same length.
How long was that trailer
Pretty sure it was this one: www.uhaul.com/Trailers/Auto-Transport-Rental/AT/
No kidding you fish tailed it lol that poor Durango.
The durango did fine overall, but yeah, it got sketchy over 60mph. So, we took it slow. lol
Sketchy, sketchy. I love it
Mean valve tick going on there.
Probably why it is being trailered instead of driven.
I'm not sure

Really? Show me a video or it didn't happen. ;)
Tic is variable displacment engine, lifter is collapsed. Way too much Toung weight on Durango.
Yes to all. I had the hydraulic lifters deleted and the Durango did fine...though it didn't like more than about 50mph.
Could be a cracked flywheel
Collapsed lifter. Apparently, it's pretty common with the GM hydraulic lifters.
Aww yes a lifter been a while since i been around that stuff that was typical back in the early 80 s lifters an camshafts
I was wondering the same thing about my Escalade.
It will fit...barely, but it will. If you have wide wheels or wheel spacers, then it might not.
@@mymorristribe I ended up just letting my gf drive my escalade across the country while I towed her car. I was nervous but we made it!
Probably the safest option. Towing large vehicles is a challenge for sure.
@@mymorristribe plus, Uhaul refused to approve the escalade on the transport. So if anything did happen, their insurance probably wouldn’t cover it
