I am amazed to see how much you guys get done each week, especially now that you have a newborn! I spent today planting 8 hydrangeas, 12 burning bush shrubs, 14 hostas, 6 ornamental grasses and two apple trees….finished dinner and now relaxing with my favourite TH-camrs! I’m inspired by your energy…So great to see you all working together so well….Simon, your parents seem like such great people…then again they have a great son and a great son-in-law!

So lovely to see knox and both sweet fathers... juggling from work and infant is stressful but if you know that everything is for the family especially baby know, I know tiredness and all is gone seeing her around.
The small tractor seems to be working out great for what you need for now. The bolts and dashboard are just normal wear and tear for something that works.👍

Anyway the sentiment is absolutely correct - its mysterious how many things suddenly stop working while Simon’s using them! We say that when after a while someone finally speaks the truth. 'now the cat is out of the bag' is the translation I guess. The expression "now the monkey comes out of the sleeve" is a Dutch idiom, "Nu komt de aap uit de mouw." It means that the true nature or intention of something is revealed, similar to the English idioms "let the cat out of the bag" or "spill the beans". In Spanish we will say "la verdad siempre sale a flote" that translate like "the truth always comes out". Also we say in Spanish "Entre cielo y tierra no hay nada oculto" the literal translation is "Between heaven and earth there is nothing hidden". The origin of this saying is quite interesting. It dates back to when Dutch sailors would smuggle monkeys by hiding them in their sleeves. Eventually, the monkeys would reveal themselves, exposing the smuggler's secret. 10:24 Hey guys, when you weld a crack you drill a hole in the end of the crack before you weld it. 4 or 5mm diameter where the crack stops so that the crack won't reappear in the welded area. Also, after you tack it together but before you weld, you use a cut off wheel to groove the crack. And last but not least do not grind the weld that is over the drill hole. You two are amazing, when that house is finished you guys are going to be so bored.

I'm still amazed at how much you both know about building, repairing, planning. I know you previously owned houses, but did you learn all your skills by trial and error or did your dads teach you. I really liked Brams comment “and the monkey comes down the sleev”. Havent heard that one in England before (perhaps other english viewers have) so i concluded its a translation from the dutch! Anyway the sentiment is absolutely correct - its mysterious how many things suddenly stop working while Simon’s using them!

It's a dutch expression but too literally translated. 'now the monkey comes out of the sleeve'. We say that when after a while someone finally speaks the truth. 'now the cat is out of the bag' is the translation I guess.

The expression "now the monkey comes out of the sleeve" is a Dutch idiom, "Nu komt de aap uit de mouw." It means that the true nature or intention of something is revealed, similar to the English idioms "let the cat out of the bag" or "spill the beans". In Spanish we will say "la verdad siempre sale a flote" that translate like "the truth always comes out". Also we say in Spanish "Entre cielo y tierra no hay nada oculto" the literal translation is "Between heaven and earth there is nothing hidden".
The origin of this saying is quite interesting. It dates back to when Dutch sailors would smuggle monkeys by hiding them in their sleeves. Eventually, the monkeys would reveal themselves, exposing the smuggler's secret.
Isn't it fascinating how different cultures have unique ways of expressing similar ideas?

10:24 Hey guys, when you weld a crack you drill a hole in the end of the crack before you weld it. 4 or 5mm diameter where the crack stops so that the crack won't reappear in the welded area. Also, after you tack it together but before you weld, you use a cut off wheel to groove the crack. And last but not least do not grind the weld that is over the drill hole. You two are amazing, when that house is finished you guys are going to be so bored.
