Happiness is built bit by bit. The challenges that appear comes to show you how strong you need to be to overcome them and feel the satisfaction it brings the family. Y’all are doing really well in every step you’re renovating. Keep smiling and the positiveness. One day you’ll be able to see Nox happy playing in the farm and embracing her great, sweet dads. Congratulations. LOVE, LIVE, LEARN n LAUGH MAC
The joy of home ownership and renovating. There is always something else to do. The floors are coming along nicely. The toolshed shelves look great. Though some crucial steps were overlooked, it worked out in the end. Gardening is like that sometimes. The weather or garden pests interrupt the plans for a perfect crop. But like you say, it is what it is. Looking forward to the next video ❤🌈
Haha we never have to sit back and wait, always something else to do. We love the floors! Next year the veggies will do better. Or not. We will see. Thanks so much for geinig with us. See you next week!
Homegrown courgettes make the BEST pasta sauce. Your 'big one' is big enough...... any bigger and they become marrows (in the UK) but you can scoop the middle (seed pulp) out and fill with a savoury filling then bake. Yum!
That zucchini is good for bread. Try planting Dragon tongue beans. I prefer them to green or wax beans. You can paint the doors Barney purple. The shelves will be a great help.
You guys are such a joy to watch work together. I look forward to your videos every week. Also, I want to tell you what a great job you do mixing your content in the videos.
you‘re such an inspiring couple🥰how you treat each other with immense love and trust, your sense of humor and how you complement each other…chapeau😊 and yes, a big shout out to your parents who made the fruit trees survive👍
Great video once again and, for me the storage build is inspiration…this morning, I am finishing up my coffee, watching your video…all before assembling shelves to unpack and organize all my tools ( we recently moved to a new house and have been concentrating on planting trees and doing landscaping but now it is time to organize our tools and “stuff” because all of those things are either unpacked or lying around on the basement floor….thanks for the inspiration to get organized!) and a big thank you for your vlog! Cheers guys, from Ottawa Canada
Nice to see fruit on your small trees. They must be happy. Thankfully your dad watered them. As a child, I used to have to carry a 5 gallon bucket in each hand, up a hill, to water the fruit trees. I know his pain! Kudos to Dad again!!
I agree. We fought about our old stuff when we bought a 100year+ house. We finally fixed them up and when we added onto our kitchen the tree that the cabinets were made from was extinct. Now used doors cost more than an entire IKEA kitchen set. I'd have it no other way.
Hi, boys! A blueprint with all the angles carefully noted and then we hear, "We didn't measure the height." This is why we love you! Thanks for the best laugh of the day, but I'm happy you lucked out after all that work. More Nox, please! To borrow a famous phrase, "We like that!"
When courgettes are that big they get fibrous. you can cut them in half, scrape out the seeds. Then make up a tomato based ragu. You can add lamb mince and mushrooms and stuff both halves of the courgette with the mixture and sprinkle with cheese and bread crumbs. Then bake at 180 degrees for 30 - 40 minutes until tender. Nice with salad or even fries!!
15:05 Timber! Another wonderful episode of “RENOGAZE”! 😉 The new shelving looks great, and much more sturdy than the old shelves we see across from it at 15:40. Well done!
You should pick your courgettes whilst they’re small…better tasting, better texture. When they get too big, they become fibrous and dryer as they go to seed ! You can make zucchini bread or muffins.
Happy that your dad was able to save the fruit trees. They have always been my favorite part of a farm. I don’t know if it’s possible, and it would be a very big job. But a sprinkler system could be a great help. There will be more dry days without rain, and I hope vacations away from home. Sprinklers could save lots of trees and gardens.
I'm very happy the trees are alive! I hope next year will be at least a bit more dry. this year was terrible and nothing like the previous years. Sprinklers would be lovely! Have a wonderful day. See you on Friday!
It’s a good idea to clear a circle of grass around the fruit trees , it cuts down the competition for moisture from the grass then put down a circle of ground fabric and cover that with bark clippings to keep the weeds down
What a joy to find a video of you guys this morning when I woke up. Such a pleasure watching you both. Take care and have a good week. From Montréal, Canada
Courgettes(zucchini in America) are lovely for making zucchini bread. The kitchen is coming along nicely. It was great to hear the fruit trees survived as the first few years are the most critical. Your storage unit should be a big help in keeping your shed organized. It is nice to see how you are always able to shift gears to other projects when you encounter obstacles and also keep a positive attitude and not get discouraged by any delays.
So nice to hear there are still nice people that will help out others in need. The floors are looking good. And I feel your pain with the multiple trips to the hardware store..that is always my story.
Great job Bram and Simon….and Nox is growing fast there.! Your perseverance is admirable! Well done! Your father is a legend….looking forward to lots of fruit recipes and pancakes !!
Courgettes are better when small, they become mealy when bigger. Banana plant needs light not straight sun. The other plant you can place high up and let it drip down ? Love your videos ! And your daughter !
Haha yeah we kind of forgot about them. But it was delicious anyway! We have a nice and sunny place for the banana plant. Now hope for a lot of sun :) thanks so much. Have a lovely day.
Thanks, guys, for another great video. I wish I personally could thank that lady who helped you at the plant store. Beautifu! But we only saw a quick glimpse of Nox . I really like the scenes of the French countryside as you drive here and there. And yes..... the ever present Baguette! Hope it tastes as good as it looks. Till next Friday.
Great job with the shelving unit, it opens up so much space when you have everything off the floor and in its place. Can't wait to see the floor next week, you can finally start putting your kitchen in. Take care and enjoy your weekend guys. ❤️
Thanks so much. Yeah it’s so frustrating when everything is everywhere. We can’t wait to finally have a kitchen again! Have a wonderful weekend. Take care.
Hi Guys! I enjoyed this weeks Vlog. I agree with Simon about the doors. Hang on to them and as you renovate you may find a perfect spot to use them in. Cleaned up a bit I think they will look great. Gardening is a great activity to share with Nox as she grows up. It's a good way to teach children where our food comes from and how it grows. When my daughters were young I always included them in gardening. Besides the normal garden plants, we would also grow fun things like pumpkins, gourds and sunflowers. Have a great week! Bill
Hi Bill. Thanks so much. I can’t wait to learn Nox all about the veggies and plants and trees and fruits. Sunflowers are indeed a very good idea. Thanks. Have a lovely weekend. Take care.
Simon and Bram, wow-you were very busy this week. Great work. I didn’t get enough of Nox time-I know it was a work work work video, but Nox is an important part of the family. By the way, your dogs certainly love you and they love the farm life. It is fun to watch them frolicking in the field. Have a good week. More Nox, More Nox…🥰🥰🥰
I am amazed at the amount of work both of you produce in one week…..the hardware must love you with all your purchases. Hope they give you some discounts! Would love to see Nox more often. Is Oma looking after her while you work? Happy week!👍🤗💕
Thanks so much. We didn't felt like we did a lot. Haha yeah sometimes oma is looking after Nox but most of the time we do that ourselves. Have a lovely day. See you on Friday.
Fun times 😕, at least you have a nice long to-do list to pick from when something goes awry! Loved the outdoor shots, (as always) just so beautiful. Have been watching your subscriber count tick up…over 9k so good for you! 10k is the next goal. Have a fun and productive week guys 😉
Haha thanks so much. Sometimes we just have to focus on something else :) I love the sunsets and clouds here! 10k is in sight. Can’t believe it! Take care. Have a lovely weekend.
Although you say it wasn't a productive week, it was still interesting to watch and see the renovation developments! The sanded floor is looking great btw!
I think you have made lots of progress! The shelves are a masterful piece of engineering and design - Brunel would have been proud! I like how Stoic you are when things go wrong and u just carry on! Well done and most impressive. Not much of Nox this week - please can we have more next week! Have a great week. Good luck with the kitchen and see u soon!
Haha we love how the shelves turned out. Thanks so much. We do have to focus on something else sometimes when it’s nog going great. Have a wonderful weekend! Take care.
Please bolt your tool storage to the wall. So when baby grows she won’t try climbing it. The thought is when you guys do your work out like before she will want to see what she can do. Also inside Chester drawers. Just a safety tip.
Another great vlog, every job gets you closer to completing your cottage, and hope it will be all done for Nox's first Christmas. Take care peace and love guys ✌️❤️🏳️🌈
T5hose green beans look great! Hope you get more. My little tree was doing poorly this summer, so I got a tree watering bag. It releases water slowly, but a lot of it over the next ten hours or so (20 gallons). It makes a big difference. Thanks for the video. You guys are always great,
Beautiful zucchini - very flexible vegetable you can make everything from bread to casserole’s enjoy! You guys continue to impress and inspire me- your family makes me smile - love ya!🏳️🌈❤️👬
Lovely as always. ❤ Seven green beans is plenty. 😂 Perhaps a water tank trailer for your tractor to water the orchard next year? The floor looks just fabulous!
Hey Boiz, we've been following you for a few months and it's been real fun! Me and my husband Steve have renovated 4 properties (here in the US) so it's interesting what you are going thru in France with an older property, a whole different set of challenges. Our niece bought a property in Nantes France and is renovating it with her boyfriend so I sent her your links so she could check out what you are doing. She is an artist specializing in Metal work and in fact one of her projects was the metal horse that was floating on the Seine during the Olympics! All the best from Arizona and we love watching your videos. Be well!
Ah thanks for being with us! Ah Nantes is more to the north on the west coast. Oh that is so cool! Metal is amazing to work with. Have a lovely day. See you on Friday!
Goggle lasagna gardening and use raised beds, build beds from scrap wood at least 24 inches tall, 4 feet wide and 8 feet long. Do not build beds any wider or any longer!!! Use the huglekultre method to fill the beds this Autumn and beds will be ready to plant out in the spring :).
Ive suggested similar. Raised beds and mounds are way easier to maintain and a cheap timer on a drip hose is enough for watering. Harvesting is 100s times easier when its in loose elevated soil. Plus past videos show a lot of random timber about the property.
Dankjewel!
Btw you may know but: Banana its a tropical plant, they need a lot sun light( If you have a good window with sun light that will be great.) and lots of water, in the summer they can be outside. Good luck.
I know this is random BUT, If they built a steel framed green house off the side of the house and installed all their old windows, a banana tree would thrive in there.
Yes we're looking forward to Friday really looking forward to it this is Midwest Family we're wondering if you have a pretty good idea of where we're located okay we're getting ready for Friday
Hello boys, another great video from you, when you planted the fruit trees did you wrap the root ball with a metal net so that the mice cannot eat the new roots? Remember to prune the trees now in the autumn, then they will sprout better in the spring. They also need 2-3 years to bear fruit
Dear Bram and Simon, I love the enthusiasm with which you approach life! I'm guessing that the music that you use in your videos you have discussed and decided that it attracts viewers to your channel. Speaking as an American.......it sounds so American and, I'm guessing like many Americans we are trying to find respite (escape) from our culture to see what two charming, fun Dutch guys are doing to create a positive life. Would you consider trying some different music? Not sure what but rest assured that no matter what you decide, I will continue to appreciate your wonderful videos!
Thanks so much. Haha yeah the music is a difficult one. I think it's too loud sometimes but TH-cam wants a constant sound level so they pump it up... I see what you mean but I'm afraid the American music found its way to Europe. I can't use all the music because of rights and all. Will at least search for more. Thanks. Have a wonderful day. See you on Friday!
Saludos desde Chiapas, México. I always really enjoy your videos. As hard as you use your equipment, It's probably a pretty safe bet that some things are just going to break. A suggestion for your beans next year. You probably will do better by trellising them, as well as your courgettes/zucchini and tomatoes. Bendiciones mi familia holandés en Francia.
So string beans love consistent watering, full sun, mulch to keep root rot, pH of 6.0 they like a little acid and manure. Cow manure is the best. You will get huge beans if you do this.
T was weer nuttige week.
Accurate! With your first child you want them to sleep all day. With the second you want them awake all day so that they will sleep all night. Teething starts in the spring and for a couple of months she will not sleep at either time.
I was watching your vlog,, while I got your reactions...ici chest 10:45 avant diner ....encore plus tot que chez nous...j'ai habit'e en Aix en Provence....donc j'ai bien la France...mon epou est decendence Irlandais de here, et Estonien de mere....donc un couple mix...ha ha...et gaie.....
Those what ever you call, are Zucchini. I remember in the other video you guys were trying to figura out the name of that vegetable. Here in the US we can eat those row or sauté with other veggies. Bon appetite !! Reply

Thanks for the kind words. We try our best :) Have a lovely day. See you on Friday.
How does that go?....Acts of nature are slow and constructive while acts of god are fast and destructive. We should all be acts of nature.
It's always nice to run into kind people, helps maintain the belief in the goodness of humanity.😊
It really is! Especially when beautiful plants are involved haha. Thanks so much. Have a lovely weekend.
The joy of home ownership and renovating. There is always something else to do. The floors are coming along nicely. The toolshed shelves look great. Homegrown courgettes make the BEST pasta sauce. Your 'big one' is big enough...... any bigger and they become marrows (in the UK) but you can scoop the middle (seed pulp) out and fill with a savoury filling then bake. Yum!
Yeah we have to harvest them sooner but we are just a bit too busy haha. Thanks. Take care.
8:45 I love the look of that small town you often visit for your pain quotidien ::)
The village is amazing. Love it every time I visit it even after all these months. Thanks so much. Take care.
I don’t know why but, seeing that baguette every Friday, makes me smile!!!
Haha it’s so good! Thanks so much.
That zucchini is good for bread. Try planting Dragon tongue beans. I prefer them to green or wax beans. You can paint the doors Barney purple. The shelves will be a great help.
Thanks so much. Hope you have a lovely day. See you on Friday!
You guys are such a joy to watch work together. I look forward to your videos every week. Also, I want to tell you what a great job you do mixing your content in the videos.
Ah thanks so much. Great to have you with us. Thx! Take care.
Yay, “Dad” for saving the trees. 🎉 too bad about all the trips to the hardware store. “It is what it is”
Yeah he did a great job! Trips to the big hardware store are always annoying haha. Thanks so much. Take care.
Your parents continue to be heroes when you need them. The crate shelf was a great idea.
Yes they are! Thanks so much. Take care.

Hello Boyz & Girl❗️
& the Mum & Dad❗️
And the doggies❗️
Hi! Thanks so much. Take care.
Lovely harvest of green beans haha. Great week again, the floor is lovely and I’m sure it will be even nicer after treating it
I’m still hungry after that green bean dish haha. We love that we were able to safe te floor! Thanks so much.
Well done guys ,love watching your renovations .

Yeah the first mini apples! they weren't that tasty though. Thanks so much. Have a lovely day. See you on Friday!
Sorry Braam, I have to take Simon's side with regards to the cabinet doors. They have so much character you have to use them somewhere.👍😋
Hahaha yeah! Thanks. They are amazing. But I have to be honest. We couldn’t keep them where they were. Take care.

Thanks. Yeah that saved the trees! Haha I'm afraid we will get more stuff to fill the free space. Take care.

Nox is doing very well :) Next year a lot of fruits! Thanks. See you on Friday!
You should look for a water tote that can be towed behind the tractor so you can water your fruit trees. Great videos keep them coming.
Thats the best idea! Thanks so much. have a great day. See you on Friday!
Because you like the comments below, I'll just say, floor is looking good. 👌

I agree with Braam. The cabinets are not meant for your home. If you choose to repurpose them for another project, that may work.
Yeah yeah Bram was right haha. We will find another place for them. Thanks so much. Take care.

Hi Bill. Thanks so much. I can’t wait to learn Nox all about the veggies and plants and trees and fruits. Sunflowers are indeed a very good idea. Thanks. Have a lovely weekend. Take care.

Thanks so much. We love the floors! Have a lovely weekend. Take care.
Great shelving..don’t beat yourself up about your vegetables the weather has been very up and down this year
The weather really was terrible! Thanks so much. Have a wonderful weekend. Take care.
Take care.
I like the new storage rack. Perhaps Braum wanted to make it bigger so he would have room for more tools! 😂 Can’t wait to see the finished kitchen.
Thanks so much. We do too! Haha Bram always wants more tools. Have a wonderful weekend. Take care.
Please bolt your tool storage to the wall. So when baby grows she won’t try climbing it. The thought is when you guys do your work out like before she will want to see what she can do. Also inside Chester drawers. Just a safety tip.
Thanks so much. We will do! Have a lovely weekend. Take care.
Another great vlog, every job gets you closer to completing your cottage, and hope it will be all done for Nox's first Christmas. Take care peace and love guys ✌️❤️🏳️🌈
Thanks so much. Christmas must be achievable! Have an amazing day. See you on Friday!
Good to keep the old doors but yes some place else on the farmhouse or barn.
Thanks so much. Thats what we are going to do! Have a lovely weekend.
I agree, you never know the value of original pieces until you need to replace them.
Haha true!
Great jobs come from great attitudes!!
Ah thanks for saying that. Take care.
T5hose green beans look great! Hope you get more. My little tree was doing poorly this summer, so I got a tree watering bag. It releases water slowly, but a lot of it over the next ten hours or so (20 gallons). It makes a big difference. Thanks for the video. You guys are always great,
Haha I hope we get more. We used them in a dish and they were very good. Thanks so much! Have a wonderful weekend.
Midwest Family here. Good luck with your banana plant we had one but it takes a sunny sunny window in the winter
How we read other comments and in America a zucchini to us so now we know
Thanks. yeah I've found the most sunny room in the house for it :) Have a lovely day. See you on Friday!
Beautiful zucchini - very flexible vegetable you can make everything from bread to casserole’s enjoy! You guys continue to impress and inspire me- your family makes me smile - love ya!🏳️🌈❤️👬
Thanks so much for that. We can't wait to cook in our own kitchen with alle the zucchinis :) Take care. See you next week.
Don't forget zucchini french fries. With a little practice you can't tell the difference.
🇲🇽👋Saludos de Mexico. Your videos are so well crafted‼ Your renovation as well. We love you guys and all the family.❤
Thanks so much. It’s great to have you with us. Take care!
Lovely as always. ❤ Seven green beans is plenty. 😂
Perhaps a water tank trailer for your tractor to water the orchard next year?
The floor looks just fabulous!
Ah thanks so much. Haha 7 isn't enough but we mixed it wit other veggies and they were delicious! Have a wonderful weekend. Take care.
Hey! The kitchen floor is going to look great! Congrats!
We love the floor! Happy we were able to safe it. Thanks. Take care!
Thank you for the update video ❤😊
Thanks for being with us! See you next week!
See you on Friday!
wowww huge harvest what a big cucumber keep on planting guys god blees 🥒🍓🍉🍊🍍🍎🌽🍇
Thanks so much. Have a lovely day. See you on Friday!
Now you need a library ladder to get to the top boxes
Haha we almost do! Thanks so much.
I'm with Simon, those cupboards would look great in use somewhere. Even if you compromise and paint them a light colour...
Thanks so much. I really like them and we are going to use them for sure! Have a wonderful weekend! Take care.
In one of the rental appartments, maybe. Free and done!
Ah thanks so much! Have a lovely day. See you on Friday!
Great progress guys…. Courgettes are huge.xx😊
Thanks so much. Hahaha yeah they are! Take care.
You guys are doing great!
Thanks so much! Take care.
Awwwww there are days where the tools just don’t play nice. Sending some ✨🌈🕺🏼👼🏻🐶🧡🐶👼🏻🕺🏼🌈✨
Haha thanks so much. Hate it when tools break down. Have a lovely weekend. Take care.
Encore de belles avancées les gars! Bonne continuation! 👏👍🏳️🌈🇳🇱🇫🇷
Thanks so much. It felt like nothing happened haha. Have a wonderful weekend.
@@vangaze Nothing? You two did more in this video than I did all week!
Haha our standards are a bit high maybe :)
Thanks for the inspiration for shelving. Need to some in our storage area.
Haha you’re welcome. Take care. See you next week!
I have to laugh every time I see you walking along with a baguette. People passing you must wonder what you're doing! lol.
Haha thanks so much. I think they think I'm just crazy. Have a lovely weekend!
Thanks, we put it in Nox her room, sunny and light. Have a lovely day. See you on Friday!
Nice one you two..
Thanks so much! Take care.
Wow you guys work so very hard well done it’s all coming together and is looking amazing xxx
Thanks so much. It does end up looking pretty:) have a lovely weekend. Take care.
Thank You. The Proud Gay Couple mastering parenting and renovating. I’m with you.
Thank you for being with us and supporting us and the channel! Have a wonderful weekend. Take care.
Yes we're looking forward to Friday really looking forward to it this is Midwest Family we're wondering if you have a pretty good idea of where we're located okay we're getting ready for Friday
Midwest is pretty big so any more specific? Thanks so much. See you later today!
Hello boys, another great video from you, when you planted the fruit trees did you wrap the root ball with a metal net so that the mice cannot eat the new roots? Remember to prune the trees now in the autumn, then they will sprout better in the spring. They also need 2-3 years to bear fruit
No we didn’t 😮 thanks so much. We will do that! Have a wonderful weekend. Take care.
Nice hard wood floor
Thanks so much. We are very glad we were able to save it! Take care.
The house will be beautiful 😍
We can’t wait. To finish it! Thanks!
@@vangaze 🤩✌
Fijn weekend samen 😊🥰
Dankjewel jullie ook!
Thank you. ❤🎉❤🎉😊
No, thank you! Haha.Take care.
Thanks for being with us for so long! Yeah it's what tools are for so it is what it is. Ah thanks. Have a great day. See you on Friday!
So string beans love consistent watering, full sun, mulch to keep root rot, pH of 6.0 they like a little acid and manure. Cow manure is the best. You will get huge beans if you do this.
Haha this year they didn't have anything from that. Maybe next year :) Thanks. See you on Friday!
Another fine vlog.
Thanks so much. Take care.
T was weer nuttige week.
Accurate! With your first child you want them to sleep all day. With the second you want them awake all day so that they will sleep all night. Teething starts in the spring and for a couple of months she will not sleep at either time.
Fijne zondag! Dankjewel!
I was watching your vlog,, while I got your reactions...ici chest 10:45 avant diner ....encore plus tot que chez nous...j'ai habit'e en Aix en Provence....donc j'ai bien la France...mon epou est decendence Irlandais de here, et Estonien de mere....donc un couple mix...ha ha...et gaie.....
Haha thanks so much for being with us guys. Have a great day. See you on Friday!
cool!
Thanks so much.
Those what ever you call, are Zucchini. I remember in the other video you guys were trying to figura out the name of that vegetable. Here in the US we can eat those row or sauté with other veggies. Bon appetite !!
Reply
Thanks so much. We were searching for another name but we thought courgette was also used in the US. Have a lovely day! See you on Friday!
Guys, great video!🤗🥰
Thanks so much! Take care.
Love your videos. Your projects go as well as mine :)
Haha thanks so much. Good luck! Take care.
🏳️🌈 I agree with Simon, the cabinet doors are real wood and could be refinished and craftsmanship is historic. 🏳️🌈
Thanks so much. We are definitely going to use them somewhere. Take care.
