listening to all these songs one after another makes me realize how much the main theme's motif is in all of them. whoever wrote the music for this game is a genius.

5:57 Had me feeling incredibly sad; remembering my first playthrough with Claude and the Golden Deer. Edelgard and Claude are not diametrically opposed, they share many of the same goals; removing the inequality of Fodlan and the temporal authority of the Church. The entire time; both I and Claude were hoping for a reconciliation; to unite against TWSITD. Seeing her die for her ideals made me feel more sad than satisfied.
So glad you are not one of the people who just hate Edie just because and understand this. They do an amazing job at painting war for what it is in this game - 'ugly.' Nobody is left unharmed.
Edelgard did terrible things in pursuit of her goal, but at the end of the day, she was the reason that the status quo was broken. Her heart was and is in the right place, and deserved a second chance, even if she refused to give herself a second chance.

@@kcmisulis425 She was A reason it was broken. "THE" reason implies it could have only happened thanks to her. The status quo would have been broken by any puppet of the Agarthans, and Edelgard(and her fans) would be delusional in thinking her way was the ONLY one. There were many nobles from each faction who had reason to accept reform(Claude, Lorenz and Lysithea from the Alliance, Felix and Sylvain from the Kingdom and countless Imperials) and if Edelgard(or one equally interested in reform) had bothered to take the time to open dialogue with them, the reform would have come with time in a way that even the Church couldn't(and wouldn't) oppose. After all, the Church is, factually, a neutral entity in affairs of the three factions. If all three said "we don't want Crests to determine worth in our lands", it's not like the Church COULD say no(not that it would. Again. It proved amenable to compromise and aid in the Kingdom's foundation, and the subsequent foundation of the Alliance).
This is to say nothing of the fact that Edelgard BADLY overexaggerates the church's so-called "tyranny", ignoring literally all of history(that she both is and isn't aware of) in the process. She makes it SOUND like the Church put a gun to each faction's head and said "oppress those without noble blood/crests or else." When was this EVER the case? That little tidbit was something decided by each nation, not the Church. All the Church did was....legitimize the presence of Crests in blood through Crestology, act as a neutral intermediary, and occasionally provided succor/goodwill when possible without providing any one side with too much favor. The HORROR, right?
"Oh, but about the guys Rhea had executed!??!?!?!!!11" you'll say. Yeah, what ABOUT the people who were (at the time) factually proven to have intentions that would disrupt a delicate political clime on the brink of conflict at any moment? Let's let them loose and give them cake. Sure. No need to make tough choices and make a statement HERE. Not that I'm defending Rhea as the be-all/end-all of good choices; that's a topic for another time.
Back to Edelgard. The fact is this: her heart AND mind were not there are at all, let alone in the right place. She was desperate(because lifespan) and subsequently hasty in her actions. The reform would have come with or without her. Her ego, pride and desperation wouldn't allow it to happen without her. That's it.
@@optimaltt6070 Interesting perspective, I agree that she was desperate to make something of her life because it is so short-lived. Unlike other potential puppets, she is a reformer for a greater good, and not just a power-hungry monster. She wasn't doing it for #cashmoney, she was doing it because she did believe that nothing would change if nobody took a step towards the future. Even after she does remain victorious, it is said in her ending that she immediately starts looking for a successor, because she knows that she cannot last. That being said, while the Church is not as evil as she thinks it is, it is holding Fodlan back, stunting technological progress, keeping birthright feudalism in place, and promoting ethnonationalist isolationism. And you can see how strongly Seiros is rooted in those backwards ideals, and will fight to the death to keep them. And that's a big part of the reason why in every TH story, the Church retreated to Faerghus, which also has no interest in breaking the status quo.
A Place to Rest makes me so happy, I love this game

Fire Emblem: Three Houses is my favorite video game of all time; the soundtrack is a huge contributor to the excellence of this game.

As someone who has only played Blue Lions/Azure Moon and the first half of each BE and GD, it was interesting to hear some tracks that were completely foreign to me (As for why I haven't played the other routes fully yet, I can't bring myself to - I'd have to kill Dimitri or watch him die. Not happening. I've played BL 4 times fully now.)

Hey guys, Fire Emblem used to be one of my favorite franchises, I came late to it. Starting with Shadow Dragon, I played Radiant Dawn, Awakening, and the GBA games, but Fates was lowkey alright. I just felt the game was starting to turn to a different direction. How is 3 Houses?
Hey dude! I've played every game since FE7, and Three Houses is the best FE game ever made. It has the best customizability, metagame, replayability, characterization, and production value and has a decently balanced difficulty progression. IMO it's much better than Awakening, Fates, and Echoes in these regards. You are depriving yourself of an amazing gameplay experience if you don't play it!
Side note: I think Shadow Dragon fails due to weak characterization and terrible aesthetics.
Tho my favorite is Radiant Dawn and I'll forever love Micaiah!
@@joshuabela5374 I'll have to give it a try then :) I agree Shadow Dragon went horribly wrong with the aesthetics, but it was probably the toughest I played! Radiant Dawn was also imo one of the most beautiful stories too. I didn't even play echoes, but I'll pick up 3 Houses after school ends for sure :)

@@caffieneaddict8716 As far as story Three Houses is a literal masterpiece, though I will say it could be more challenging even on maddening classic no new game +. This game really blew away my previous expectations, after playing Fates which is pretty lackluster as far as story. The music, story, and characters in Three Houses are actually really well thought out and this game is definitely one of my favorite games of all time, Blue Lions is probably the best route to play, an emotional roller coaster for sure...
I know a lot people have already responded to this and your probably not looking for another opinion, but I honestly love the game. I just have a hard time calling it a "Fire Emblem" Game. Its definitely one of the best in the series, but the look and feel of it is so very different from any other Fire Emblem I have a hard time saying its apart of the same series. That's not a bad thing though.
1:32 and 49:32 are just in game sounds, not music. Don't think we'll ever get an official OST title.
53:25 is 'A World for Humanity', or rather a bit into the song.
30:12 is tricky - I think it could be apart of an in-game song, but not sure. Interested to see if anyone can find it.

I think it’s Crest if Flames and FE 3 Houses Main Theme maybe? There might be a tiny difference. Actually, I think there’s another version/name for it, but I can’t really see any difference in each version
One is called Crest of Flames. Another is called Arcana Code. They both share the same melody. That may be it.
