@darren motise Rosetta Stone and Living Languages do not teach Italian in the same way Manu does through his Italy Made Easy program. Rosetta Stone teaches words and phrases without grammar. Living Languages was a recording with workbooks. In his Italy Made Easy program, Manu uses grammar, pronunciation aids, drills, practice, homework, tips for remembering the lesson, along with the history behind different aspects of the language and Italian culture. The IME platform also gives students access to the teachers and other students, allowing everyone to ask questions, practice speaking, and encouraging each other. I spend the same amount of time each day with IME as I did with Rosetta Stone and Living Languages. I have learned more in the 5 months of IME as I did in the 2 years of Rosetta Stone and Living Languages.

@PaulaWordCrafts OK. I'm happy you explained. Those programs don't sound very good. I thought they were. Duolingo seems pretty bad to me, but maybe I never learned how to use it properly.

Im about 60 lessons into the "Zero to Italian" program. I have been learning Italian on and off for years (I would say mostly off because I feel that, in hindsight, I wasn't putting in the effort), and all of the other programs I tried, make me REALLY appreciate Italy Made Easy. Sooo many things that didn't make sense to me for YEARS, explained in no time.
If you try this program and are not happy with it, then I sincerely don't think you will be happy with any program.

Manu is the best teacher I have ever had. I’ve been studying Italian with Italy Made Easy for almost three years now and have enjoyed every moment. I’m not naturally fast at learning and so I worked through the sessions in my own time without any pressure. Sometimes I went through the same section a few times to get full understanding and sometimes the sessions were quick and easy. The content is varied throughout the course so it doesn’t become tedious or boring. I’d definitely recommend this course for anyone wanting to learn Italian or to improve their current knowledge.

@@canalesenzanome4830Bro is it compulsory for an Indian to learn Italian before coming to Italy if he/she is coming to settle after doing post graduation like "MBA"etc kind of courses? And are they(indians) treated well in Italy, like racism nd all do it happen (generally asking) ? As I heard that Hinduism is also growing rapidly now in Italy ?
Also, how difficult is for an Indian (Asian) to get PR, post study work visa , nd in future citizenship in Italy?
Who do their Post Grad from Italy and how long will the language be to find employment etc.

Anyway if you want to come here and find a good work, you will need to know the language, otherwise you might still be able to find a work, but not one where your degree is needed. As for racism, well, probably there is more racism towards Africans or Muslim countries people compared to Indians, you should be fine. For the visa I don't know, but I can tell you it's already difficult to find a good job for us even with a good degree, so I don't know if I'd suggest you to try

After sampling a bunch of your TH-cam videos and your podcast (which I still listen to for the immersion!), I took the plunge and signed up for your course yesterday and so far I absolutely love it. I was self learning for a year and I have a lot of knowledge gaps, or some things that I don't fully understand, just memorized some certain examples, so finally having everything explained properly and fully is such a relief. I've started from the very beginning of your course, so some of it is review for me and now I also get a chance to deepen my understanding and fill in any gaps I might have.
Thanks so much for the course, I really love it a lot so far!

As an RN certified in Neuroscience Nursing, I was excited to learn that acquiring and using a new language involves a different part of the brain than that of one's mother tongue. What this means in nursing is that those with a stroke or injury to the portion of their brain involving their primary language may be able to communicate in a language they had learned later! The ability to communicate is so important in recovering! Although I'm now learning the predominant secondary language in my region (and encouraging others to do the same), Italian is by far my favorite language. Manu, I hope you will see this message and convey it to others. I love you and your teaching method, and I'm applying your principles to Spanish!

I am enrolled in Part One of the Beginner's Course of "From Zero to Italian." I am a little over halfway through the course. I have memory problems and sometimes I need to refresh things I have learned in previous lessons. I have a lot of other tools that Manu has recommended: my own Quizlet sets; online Dictionary; online Verb Conjugation Tool. I also regularly research my own Italian ancestry online in documents in microfilms on Family Search. Sometimes I have gone back through the lessons to refresh my memory. These videos can serve the same purpose. So I will be watching all of these even as I progress with the lessons. So, Grazie mille Manu!

@@italymadeeasy Something interesting happened today. I took your advice about Immersion and I watched several episodes of "Portale del Verde" and then I watched an interview on QVC Italia and sometimes when somebody spoke I could see the words in my head. I did not know what all of them meant, but, I could see them and even sometimes "corrected mistakes." For example one time she said a word and in my head I saw some of the letters as "...sch..." and then I thought and realized that no it should be spelled "...sc..." not "...sch..." Things like that.
Also in reference to any Italian content whether audio-visual, audio or even written such as official histories of comuni [Found on the official websites of the comuni] after more lessons I go back and find previous content and read or listen or watch it again and I am amazed at how much more I understand. So, I also use Immersion in that way. It is a good measure of how much I have improved which gives me a good feeling of encouragement. It's kind of a little reward for putting in the work.
I do need to get better at speaking more quickly without having to think about how to say something. Some things are because I haven't learned them yet but sometimes even things I should know I stumble with how to be familiar and natural with it the same as in conversations in English.

By the way, I was watching on TV Italian series “Mia amica géniale” and, since most of the events were taking place in Naples, it was hard to understand because they were speaking with local dialect. One other thing: because of my line of work in entertainment, I was working one day with Nicoletta Mantovani, who was married to Luciano Pavarotti. I tried to speak with her in Italian and she complimented me on my skills, which was very flattering. That gives me even more motivation to study Italian!😊

The end of July we traveled to Illinois for a family reunion on my Mom's Italian side AND a cousin from Italy and his wife were there and I got to meet them and talked to them. I wished I had more time but, of course, he was the center of attention and so many other American cousins there they ALL wanted to talk to him! lol But I will continue to write letters and we will keep in touch and the From Zero to Italian course and Manu and his wonderful team gave me the ability and the confidence to speak Italian with them. My cousin DID speak English, but, together we did speak Italian as well. And we made that start and we will continue so it can only get better in the future.

@1:25:41 Not only do vowels get lost with the articles, they also get lost in sentences when the vowels of different words meet. So an ending -e and a leading a- will slur together and one vowel (usually, it seems, the preceding vowel) well disappear in spoken language. It shows up on paper, but doesn't get articulated.

sei proprio un bravo insegnate! I said the same thing....you are like a child again...to learn from the beginning. The fastest way is to immerse yourself in the culture and break through the intense frustration by being around Italian people and I mean Italy. You have to USE it and also get the sounds and the mouth to get used to it. Listen to ITalian as you fall asleep......get it in your head. It must be an intense desire not a hobby. Reading aloud or just LOOKING at the words also gets it into your head and works the mouth. I listened to TOPO GIGO and childrens shows in Italian, better than infomercials
