- A Hero’s Legacy Comics in Manchester, Connecticut is sadly closing its doors at the end of the month. Everything in the store must go… and I’m trying to help! I visited the store to see the incredible deals they were offering and bring attention to this great LCS. Check out the video to see what I found and possibly plan a trip yourself to get some cheap comics before it’s too late!

Every time I see you pass up a Kid Colt comic it breaks my heart. I'm 76 and been trying to bring my collection back to complete after my brothers traded them off for ones that they liked when I went into the Air Force in '66. Good luck in your hunting.
Another great video
We are big fans.. watch when I have the time. I offered to help keep this store going.
So sad but the owner April is a great person. She did some great sales.. All I am going to say..
Sad when physical shops close and people move more and more to online shopping.
Less overhead for sellers, therefore cheaper for buyers.
Not necessarily true, while yes the overhead is high so is the percentage rate these online companies take. I can go to my local comic book shop and pick up a stack of $1 comics and be set. Good luck trying to find anything for $1 online, which is impossible with inflated shipping cost. Not saying you can’t find good deals online, but in my experience everything seems way overpriced. Sad that small business owners get hit the worst when big companies get bailed out all the time.
Hate buying online. I know sometimes ya gotta, but I don’t enjoy it in the slightest.
Yes, support your local comic book stores! It makes me sad when I hear about a comic book store closing, but yeah, it's a difficult business to be in. Fewer and fewer collectors are buying new issues, which is the bread and butter for these stores. Comic books stores have been adapting to include other types of merchandise, but it is difficult to figure out what will sell, and what won't so it can be a burden to store excess overstock. Great dollar bin finds! I would be poor if my LCS had those types of bins!
cool that your sis lives in Oregon...it's nice out here!!! Hi, from Eugene, Oregon!!!!
Xmen 215 with the Alan Davis cover art is one of my fave oddball covers. always love seeing it in the wild.
Always hate seeing a comic shop close. But man, those were some great deals. Those Marvel gallery statues are awesome for how affordable they are! I have a few. Support your local shop, folks.
GREAT DEALS
Holy moly id be in there all day. Id have gotten tons of books and even a great statue. When my favorite comic shop closed in the late 90s it was heartbreaking. Its like a piece of your child hood dies with it😓
I recognized the shop from the thumbnail! 😭 I used to pop in there sometimes when I lived in CT! Sorry to see them go!
So lucky! I’d spend all day in there.
Wish I lived near there. Really good deals.
Love that statue we bought it twice. We also got the dark phoenix variant (so technically 3) ha ha. Hate to see a store going out of business.
X-Force 8 for a buck is a steal!! Sad to see that store close, always a shame. Good pickups!
Another great upload Mike. I too hate hearing about comic books shops closing but I’ve seen it happen many times before but like Phoenix one will rise again!
I do collect statues once in a while. I have the statue you showed. They take up a ton of room. If you display them you must keep the original packaging. It’s a rule😅. I miss physical comic book shops so much.
Nice haul from the dollar bins. I recently acquired Morbius #1 and Darkhold #1 to complete the set of Rise of the Midnight Sons crossover issues.
Your a good brother. Take care of family.
Dude that’s awesome . I wish I lived near a real comic shop . The one I live by is mainly is magic shop
Cool pick ups.
Nice review.
Great pick up bro.... I wish I was there to get some of them $1 dollars books Also
I just love your videos man
Good afternoon Michael
Sad indeed to see a store closing, I lived the dream many years ago, and was gutted when it ended, it is a hard hard world in bricks and mortar land. But a great opportunity to pick up a bargain, Who knows what delights still wait within the boxes.
A Hero's Legacy Comics Manchester, we salute you.
Great work Michael look forward to the next episode.
But once again, not one gold key in sight
Cheers Al The Goldkeyfourcolorkidownunda
Awesome pickup love dollar bin diving
Those diamond gallery figures are really cool, but they do take up a good amount of space. Great finds! Always sad to see a store close though.
Nice pickup and a lot of the books were news stands!
Always sad to see shops close i know a few people that called that shop their lcs nice pickups love that midnight sons 1-6 issues
I hate to see that. We just discovered a bakery that was closing last Saturday when we found them. They had amazing pies.
You got distracted by that Legend of Drizzt Scenario Pack. Did someone say John Byrne?!? and then I got distracted!.
It's never good when a comic shop closes. Mine closed two weeks ago and it 's harder to find a new store these days.
Great video yet again. Just catching up on the last few weeks.
Always sad and annoying to see comic stores close. My last regular physical store closed down in 2020 and naturally had a sale. There were a lot of keys picked up by other buyers but my personal win was a copy of New Mutants #98 for $2.50 NZ!
For a couple of days I was the envy of my comic collecting friends!
(The young couple who ran the store weren't really into comics, more the games side of the business, so I don't think they knew, or appreciated, what they had in their comic boxes)
That’s a great deal for the NM 98!
Well, here in the Netherlands are LCS es few and far between. Even in my city (Leiden 100.000 people) there is no lcs that sells usa comics. Some sell Marcel and DC TPB, but mostly they sell Dutch kid comics and books. No back issues, no modern comics, it is sad. If I want something modern (rarely, but once in a while you spot a Dell Otto cover or another great artist) and I order online. Sad but true. Same for old stuff (which I like). I used to go to Chicago comic con in the nineties but the internet changed all that. Too bad, I loved too search for great books for 4 days in a row :). I bought a ton of great comics pretty cheap in those days, they were good investments it appears now.
That Wolverine cover just smacks! You're right, Byrne is the best artist for Logan. It's too bad that they're closing, and even worse that I'm half a continent away. I thought I saw a Crow book in that one box. Great video, Mike!
I'm visiting CT and I'm on the way ✌🏾
You need to go to awesome hobby shop in Biddeford maine
Sweet Pick ups- Love the Phoenix statue. Dollar bins? Yes please! 😊
Great Jean Grey statue. Ya it's depressing so many LCBS no longer exist. Most in Wisconsin in Milwaukee and sheboygan areas are long gone.Sorry to hear your losing another great store in your area.
I'm going to miss AHL/Burried Under. Been shopping there for 20 years.
Great video as always. Keep up the great work. 😎
I am a fan of statues, an action figures out of the box, I really like the diamond select statues. Mainly because they are cheap, but they don’t lack on the details of their statutes. I really like that Phoenix that you just got, I might have to pick that up for myself.
Very sad to see such a great store going out of business. But, you scored a nice stack of books! I think I'd be in there for the whole day picking through boxes! Also, nice shirt! I have the same one on today! 😊
That Rasputin book is a steal, He's shown up in the fall of X currently not the nicest guy
Great pickups. I am currently trying to get the the midnight sun books. Have 3 of 6 sorry far. Thx for the video
Wish I could find a wolverine 17 in the dollar bin.😊
Same. I’m working on a Wolverine run and I’m missing that issue.
I hope someday they have a comic book store in my town! The Phoenix I have Green, White and red outfits I love them,! ❤️🇺🇸
@LMC I don't know if you have them already but 1:36 you passed up X-Men 283 Bishops 2st full app. and at 1:57 you passed up Hulk #8 (1999) which is the last appearance of Wolverine with bone claws.
I do have them already, but when I went back to this store later I bought 12 more X-men 283s lol
I was just there the other day. Sad as i was looking for a new local shop as i just moved here.
Came across this terrible news on Facebook the other day. Wish I were closer.
WOW! I would definitely be in there digging all day long. Dollar bin boxes are my kryptonite, and those in this video are the kind a budget collector dreams of! I would probably have a legit freeze-up crisis of indecision on what to buy and what to put back. The fact that you walked out of there with only 13 comics is a testament to your willpower. Comic Book Shops going out of business is sad indeed. But then again, I still mourn the loss of video stores and the experience of picking out video tapes to rent by their amazing cover box art, stills and a mysterious description of their contents. In fact, I switched to collecting comics as an adult because opportunities for video hunting dried up, while comic book stores were still open and full of back-issue boxes that were still pregnant with the potential for new and exciting discoveries. I hope this avenue for feeding the imagination doesn't dry up too. You should go back to this store before they close and do a final, epic Dollar Bin Diving video to see what the best 50 comics you can find for $50 or something. That would be fun to watch. Or better yet, do a live stream and the audience can tell you what to buy! Ha!
Awesome video by the way.
Very nice pickups. Definitely support the LCS's when we can.
I wish I was closer..it's always a bummer when this kinda thing happens.its great that your getting the word out ..i cant imagine how much it would suck to lose your store and be stuck with just a boat load of inventory....I bet there's turtles in there haha..
Great pickups and awesome gift for your sister. Have a great weekend my friend!
It sad to hear that there closing. It was nice of you to give them a boost on social!
Hard to pass up $1 bin diving, even if it means you get doubles! Another great vlog!
Yea it was one of my LCSs thankfully we have a few in the area. You should have checked out Most Excellent Cards and Collectibles they had just opened a new location in Manchester that took over the bed and bath beyond location.
I’ve been meaning to head over to the new location, certainly sometime this fall!
I really like figures. But I think the same as you. My comic collection takes up a lot of space. I believe that if I collect figures, my wife kicks me out of the house
It is so fun to see how the wall of comics behind you has evolved over the life of the channel. Congrats!
Some very good X-Men issues there Mike, that was an enjoyable era of the title. I don't buy statues either but I agree that the Phoenix diorama is really eye-catching, good choice for your sister.
Love the Jean Grey Statue. Like you, I do not have the room to put it.
The definition of bitter sweet, comic book shops closing down, sad to see them go but the deals are always incredible. You're a very good brother for sending that Phoenix statue off to your sister, I cant say I'd do the same 🤣 that thing was sweet, I fancy my self a bit of a figure collector lol. Great video as always 🙌
nice grabs
Sad to see another shop closing. $1 comics. Man those some sweet deals.
I’ll do my part!
I know the feeling of closing down well 😢, use to have a convenient shop 6 yrs ago , had it for 37 yrs, then came Walmart, 4 Starbucks, 3 Jamba Juices , CVS, 7-11 all in 1-2 Block Radius ...Business Died under 2 yrs...
Life Sux's 😭
Cool books for a buck each…That Phoenix is 🔥!
Sad the lcs is going out of business now. Some people like to go to the store because it just feels different then being online and you get a chance to look at the books and have conversations with people in the hobby
Legacy Comics, Manchester Connecticut - 50% Off 💵💳💰
Jim Hanleys in Manhattan also closed this week.
Too bad about that Punisher #1. I got excited for you when you first pulled it out.
Yeah I was excited at first too
I would’ve still took it for the price
As an Xmen fan myself I love how you went straight to the Uncanny divider 😂. If you sell online drop a link, interested in supporting.
subscribed 🙂
X-Force #11 is the first Domino according to CLZ.
#11 is first full, #8 is her first cameo and cover
Hope to go Wednesday
I don’t know the prices on every book
But
I bet I could find 1000 cheaper
Comics
That a person could net
At Least $10k+ on
The comic book in my neighborhood closed in 2020. I missed the sale because I didn’t get back into comics until mid 2022. I don’t think the comic book stores are doing too well right now. Lots of them are in obscure places which doesn’t attract much foot traffic and only real comic book buyers will know them. For the remaining comic books in my area I noticed a lot of unsold inventory earlier in the year were thrown in the $1 bin. I am even surprised some of the owners are able to afford staff for the comic book shops. I’ve been going in during my vacation and these comic book stores barely have any customers during the weekday and gets only busier on the weekends.
So much stuff.
I've been to a G.O.B. sale. Bittersweet...
This Is my LCS 😢 I hate that there going out of business
Sad when physical stores close. Mine closed down a few weeks ago.
It is sad, sorry for your loss
You can’t pass up a $1 Uncanny X-Men issue. Looks like you had your pick of the litter with some of those!
I did, and I only wish I bought them all!
@@lunchmoneycomics 😂 I hear ya. After one of those huge sales I always wish I got the ones I thought about but ended putting back.
Uncanny x-men #215 was my first comic
I always found it weird that morbious and blade can be on a team together
That is so sad to hear that such a great store is closing. What was the reason that they gave for the closure? Sometimes stores closed because of good reason. I hope that is the case here.
I’m not exactly sure why they are closing but the owner is moving so I assume it’s family related
I thought the big bald guy was Guido/Strong Guy. I remember the name Sunder from something. Are they the same person?
No it’s a different guy, Sunder was one of the Morlocks. But yeah, pretty much a big strong mutant guy
Sounds like you shouldve done more hunting
I agree, I was very short on time
First! That’s means I’m the biggest fan!
🙄
@@rvdizecw420 jealous?
Curious, but when you buy multiple copies of something like X-Force #8, what are you planning on doing with the other copies? Are you a reseller too? Just curious as to the purpose of multiples. Another great video, and enjoying the channel!
I usually keep the nicest one for myself, then I’ll sometimes give my son one, use others as giveaways, trades, or as a last resort sell. But usually they are just cheap gifts and giveaways when I trade with people.
Can't go bad with dollar bins. Are you going to the Baltimore Comic-Con
I am not able to get to Baltimore, I hear it's incredible though!
I collect bowen bust
Sometimes I wish I was your little sister. Wait, did I say that out loud?
sad
I realize... "lunch money comics"... but 50% off, why shop the $3 bins? Look for bigger wins.
There was mostly only small stuff left, all the “bigger” books have been sold.
He’s going out of business because he’s priced $10 on books you can get for $2 ALL DAY
comics are a dying hobby. 5 dollars a book is too expensive with soooo many entertainment options now a days. Not to mention the movies are trash.
Maybe, but in their defense this store isn't closing due to poor business.
Idk but LCS closing down is totally nightmare to us as comic lovers/collectors 🥹
