Ireland is so beautiful and full of history. It's always amazing to me to see architechure and sculptures of the past and how much skill there was involved. There is a tendency to think of it as crude, yet we can find many of the same principles still in use today.

Yes we often fell the same way, amazing work by such a skilled stonemason.

What a beautiful site. Good thing the cross has not been vandalized. We hope we can get to Ireland at some point. We have been making plans.

You will enjoy your visit to Ireland I am sure. So many places to see as you travel around. We could have done with an extra week or more.

    Thanks for the fun tour.
I like the gate walls that look like mini castle walls with towers.

We had a great time visiting many interesting places. Two and a half months of travel. We filmed a cache walk each day and on a few days two. Great fun!

Extremely interesting as always. Many thanks indeed for your shout out and wee video clip. Can't wait to see your next cache walk location. I think I can guess where it might be, yes!

Our pleasure. We were excited to see this wonderful place for ourselves, such a gem. We have one more stop on the way to Dublin. Any thoughts on it's location?

Mellifontn nearby is good as well. Monasterboice is I believe the tallest high cross.mellifont is the first cistercian Abbey in Ireland...the mothermhouse.
