What a wonderful sales person Helen is, I would imagine that her properties sell very well! Thanks for sharing this lovely video with us, many I am sure even now considering a move to Ireland...
Trevor Wills i know that inuit need freezer that make me sad, some politics people are ignorant about pollution and climate change the human is dangerous for this world .i play lotto if i win next week the 90 mill jackpot i would by a castle or home in ireland its very beautiful and lovely people
I came across this wonderful video while looking at properties in Coyle, Oklahoma (random, I know). I can't even imagine living in an Irish castle, but I would love to find out! Ireland is the home of my ancestors, but I've never been there.
I'm sure the Normiles are well met on the lovely island. However I being a poor American relation I am sure its none for me. Save the usual Irish hospitality. Grand as always. I would love to have a home of any sort in the ancestral stomping grounds to be sure. maybe someday. (Fallowed by a sad but hopeful sigh)
No you dont. You dont want the history thar comes with it. Centuries of sorrow in Ireland from british invasions. The comment stayed in alot of castles meant he throw the irish out and took over. He killed a quarter of the population of Ireland. Men women and children. And he is not even the worst that was done in ireland by the british. Imagine centuruies of 9/11 followed by invasion. It would make u look at sky scapes differently.
iTzNoxy, For the vast majority of castles for sale at less than $1,000,000 or so, the need for renovation and restoration is practically a given! Also, the vast majority of countries with medieval and renaissance castles and mansions, there's kilotons of historical preservation restrictions that can drastically drive up the cost of restoring and modernizing the castles.
Absolutely beautiful ! Compared to current real estate prizes in Vancouver Canada, where a bungalow sells for 5 million Canadian dollars !! I rather have a Castle in beautiful Ireland !
Well, if I ever win the lotto....I'll look her up! My grandfather was Irish, but of a more common stock, not likely to have ever lived in a tower house. Stuff of dreams
I am not Neil , Wikipedia The last of the eastern Crusades cities fell in 1291 , and there were no more crusades . They start saying it was a 15century castle indicating ( 1401-1500) , then say it was built between 1600 and 1650 after son came back from Crusades . Did I miss something ? Was there a Crusade I missed ?
The outside of that renovated castle tower looks as though it's been rendered. That really takes a lot of the old character away. I hope there's some protection for these old buildings.
Can someone please explain to me the trick that was on the spiral staircase? I'm afraid I've misunderstood because of the accent, or I'm just plain dumb, lol!! Thank you!!
I need a very large castle with many bedrooms. I also will be needing enough land for my jet and helicopter. I will need an airstrip or enough land to build one. I will need rooms to house my staff (assistants for each family member, butler, maids, drivers, security team, chefs, etc). These seem very small. Also need to have land to build employee housing.
A 2,000 sq.ft. private condo, with 4 rooms, with a 99 year leasehold, sells for about €1,750,000 in Singapore. I think I'm moving to Ireland and be the king of my own castle!
When she said this is what people who come to her looking for castles expect I wondered who are these people it just looked like a chimney or a Tower. When thinking Castle I think of something a little more elaborate, but then agaIn i guess they come in all shapes and sizes.
My family name had changed a few times but traces to the Corbet family which were the ones that gathered men to aid with King William in 1066 In return they were made Barons and given land and castles and a sort of tax collector afterwards ... Moreton Corbet, Shropshire, England is just one of them
Well I friggin know were I'm retiring! I'm gonna get me a castle in Ireland! That's cheep. I mean here in Pennsylvania you cant by a house for less than 170,000 hardly.
Except that some of those castles were stolen from my family, O'Cathasia, and don't belong to these people or the English crown! If I had the means I would wage war to reclaim them this vary day!
cromwell in ireland proved england royal is a crazy schizophrenic. My name owned a castle there in the 1500s.. it is still my name today. I hope she gets good care takers buying.

Those castles have got similar price tags to the average apartment in London, New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Boston. As well as the price of the average home in California, New York State and much of New England. A centuries old castle with kilotons of charm and history is bound to be better than a modern cookie cutter dwelling that will start decaying in less than 10 years!
Every country has its own history, story and heritage... I love it
What a wonderful sales person Helen is, I would imagine that her properties sell very well!

Hi Helen. Great video. Do people renovate these castles like putting in heating/plumbing? Thanks.
Yes many do renovate

I am half Irish. But never been to Ireland. I like the tower house. It's amazing!

Are the contents of the castles included?
I wonder how much it costs to maintain... I guess you could heat it with the fireplaces
Castles are awesome.......that's it.
Can I have one landed to me if I sware vassalage? I promise to always lend a portion of my levies in wartime.
Centuries of Heritage & Legends.
I’m looking for a small castle to buy right now
Well, if I ever win the lotto....I'll look her up! My grandfather was Irish, but of a more common stock, not likely to have ever lived in a tower house. Stuff of dreams

What is the name of that last Castle? I can't quite catch it from the Video sound.
Do you have a floor plan?
Is that the guy who acts in The HOBBIT
Actually could be James Nesbitt
they used boiling hot water as oil cools down quicker than water and due to being thicker takes longer to boil

😊. I would rather buy a nice renovated castle than mansion here in the United States of America.
Can someone please explain to me the trick that was on the spiral staircase? I'm afraid I've misunderstood because of the accent, or I'm just plain dumb, lol!! Thank you!!
Danny Canes they were built in a way so in case the owner had a sword fight he would win
Tommy Granny Thank you!!

Also a place near water for my yacht. Forgot to mention that.

Gorgeous
Well that settles it. I'm moving to Ireland.
How much is a castle WITHOUT a ghost??
Aah, c'mon! All the cool kids have a ghost!
The perfect part pad! If your gests get too pissed and unruly, you can pour hot oil on them or throw their drunken ass in the dungeon.
Well I friggin know were I'm retiring! I'm gonna get me a castle in Ireland! That's cheep. I mean here in Pennsylvania you cant by a house for less than 170,000 hardly.
Build a modern one instead for the same price. Check out Jeff Cooper's home concept as a good example.
How do i contact you?
helencassidyauctioneers@eircom.net
Sounds like would be a fun job to do
So lovely.... until winter, where they become freezing, wet and with no bathroom
Actually, many of the castles for sale actually do have electricity and indoor plumbing.
Except that some of those castles were stolen from my family, O'Cathasia, and don't belong to these people or the English crown! If I had the means I would wage war to reclaim them this vary day!

LOL, 750 thousand Euro for that Tower. I couldn't buy a one-bedroom home in San Diego California for that.
My ancestors are royal in Ireland and some people call me prince connar 2
How the fuck did they get the furniture up there?!
*But it should be a State affairs!
