I always use bubble wrap. 😂 ❤ I plan to add tongs to my kit in the future
Good ideas. I have no cacti however it reminds me about my garden centre shopping trip last weekend. A little girl got away from her dad and decided to pet a fuzzy cactus. No blood but she learned fast.
Kitchen utensils are underrated gardening tools.
You made that look easy! I love the way it looks in that terracotta pot; sort of matches the "red hair". 😁
Hi Nick! The tips and tricks for repotting a cactus are very helpful! I tend to shy away from buying them because of the fear of getting stuck by them, but I may just have to buy one now that I know how to handle them. I really like yours! I've been missing seeing Muffin. Hope she will show herself more. Thank you so much for sharing!
As a desert native I can guarantee the natural looking gravel looks more like it's habitat than the sand. 😊 I do add sand to some of my soil mixes for better drainage though.
Great tips! I have a very similar cactus that I've been look at because I know it needs repotting. These tips will greatly help. (Glad you used the terracotta planter - love the way it looks!) 👍
I love cacti. Thank you for this video!
Are you psychic? Just when I needed this video.
Me too! 😊
Same here. I have a gasteria and a echiverea that both have a few big pups and some little ones and the pots are bulging. Just in time!!! THANKS NICK!!! I'm just getting into cactus and succs more now since I managed to have kept one alive for more than just 1 season and now that I have Nick as my teacher I know I will have more success. I just bought an African milk cactus that i relly want to grow into a huge one.
This is great! I only have one cactus that has very few spines because I wasn't sure how to handle repotting and I had a bad experience with a fuzzy type of cactus when I was a kid. very itchy!
You crack me up with all of your kitchen tools 😂 this was such a great video!
Great ideas, Nick! Thanks!
Can you do a video on how you style your plants/ your thought process with it? You’re so good at it- I feel like mine just exist in a hot mess lol 😊
Today I learned that the silicone on my tongs slides off.. 😮
It's the same with silicone spatulas also💚
Thank you for the tips! I was dreading to repot a cactus, but I managed without using bandages afterwards 😅
Thank you for sharing beautiful and amazing cactus plants lovely
I've been watching Cactus Caffeine here on YT and she uses tongs as well. Genius for repotting a cactus! Somehow I still get spines on my hands when I repot my bunny ears cactus though. And those are the most annoying spines!
It looks great!👍🏻
Oh I coulda really used this video about 2 weeks ago, I had to repot mine which had been in the same pot for about 15 years, it’s huge .
Looks nice!
Looks so good in the terra cotta pot 🏜️
I always go 2 times bigger no matter what plant it is. 1 you don’t have to repot the cactus for 10-20 years. Compare to the next size up pot which is 5-7 years.
literally about to repot my one and only cacti and is scared to thank you :D
Great job 👍. BTW could you separate the cactus?
Looks great…no humans harmed in this repotting.😬
The tongs are genius.
❤️
What do i do if roots are growing out the bottom. Formed a ring under pot. Didnt notice when i bougjt it same day today. And i just watered it.
👏👏👏👏👍🏻
I have yet to buy a cactus with spines.
🥰🌵🌵🥰
Me holding up tongs to my 5ft Peruvian cactus. 😧😧😧
😂
I didn't you played the harp! So do I, maybe you can post a video playing sometime
where's Muffin!?
Oh, so the "safety" part was regarding the human, not the cactus. 😂
You need an overhead camera, it will be easier for us to see better. At times you are showing things that are too far. Love your work!
