Mango House Seychelles: Beautiful place, but is Worth It?

The Mango House Seychelles is a brand new hotel which has a long way to go, before it is worth the price range they are asking for. It was a point stay of 95.000 points per night, but in my opinion I would definitely spend my money or my points somewhere else on the Seychelles.

4/5 is way too much for all that mistakes and especially with that price ;)
If the breadfruit really brings me back to the Seychelles one day, it will be to Hilton Labriz and Hilton Northolme. ;-) They were all nice at Mango House, but managed to get me angry several times and we were there only for 2 days...

Hi Beverly, sure: transport will be around 30 minutes. I cannot tell you the exact price, since we didn't go there directly. From the Airport to Hilton Northolme it was 50 € fix price. Mango House should be a bit closer to the airport - so take this as a rough price. There is no Uber on the Seychelles. If you want lower taxi prices, you have to look in advance for some taxi websites. You will find plenty on Google with Drivers offering their services. You need to contact them 1-2 days in advance, since many of them don't have mobile internet (too expensive) and will reply on WhatsApp only in the morning or in the evening. You can ask for the price in advance. Had good experience with those guys when traveling around the island.
Dinner in the restaurants was rather high priced: At Muse restaurant we paid 2800 SCR (=200 USD) for the dinner for two including some drinks. On the Moutya restaurant, we paid around 2000 SCR (=140USD) for two. You see in the video, what we roughly had for that.
Since this is not US: Diamonds get full breakfast for free of course ;-)

A brand new place with very few guests, amazing looking food, close to the beach, probably costing half of what it would in other places, but you complain about lights not working or having a bug in your room. In Africa. You don't know you were born.
You are absolutely right - it is an amazing place with lots of pros. It has a great bar with some of the best tequilas from Mexico and probably the largest Gin collection on the island. It has 3 amazing restaurants with real great tasty and quality food.
And I absolutely not complain about my friend with 100 feet in my room - this was rather funny. :-D
What I'm not a big fan of, is if the staff adds 200 € onto my check and can't tell me why. Instead of removing it, they reduced it the next day to 50 € - that is simply unprofessional.
What I also don't like is that they double charged my credit card - with full intent. I paid at check out, she had issues with the receipt printer, she even asked me if she can charge it again and I said no. 15 min later I got my luggage from the room and she told me that she solved it - as I saw later, she solved it by charging my card number again.
This is a staff behavior and attitude (and there were 4 different employees involved in total) that I would expect in a 50$ Hampton, but not in a 800$ LXR.
Mentioning the price level: Even for the Seychelles, the prices are high. If they want those prices - which is absolutely fine -, the professionality has to match in my opinion, however.
And that's it: it is my opinion. Appreciating that you have a different one and that's cool. Every perspective gives a different impression. Thanks for sharing!
