Why do people with dog problems insist on using harnesses???

Most people don't want their dog to choke themselves to death with a regular collar or slip leash. Bur if u notice with Cesar he controls excitement not the dogs body. The excitement results in walking here there everywhere, the jumping, etc.
But people just let the leash go tight and the slip leash or collar causes them to either pull more or get more tense.
With my dog as soon as he goes forward I stop walking until he stops. Then I bring him back to my side until he sits. Then I walk. I'm criticized by my bf because I don't let him sniff around to his hearts content. But I give dogs a structured walk so that they know I'm in control of where they're allowed to go (boundaries). He can freely sniff around when I allow him to when it's safe. Plus I never let him walk ahead. My bf and other people do and I hate it.
U may have control but u do not know if other owners have control. So you need to have a structured walk to keep ur dog safe as well as other dogs too.

It's a fashion statement of sorts. And with more and more harnesses, i see less and less harmonious brisk walks. I see more of dog and owner at odds...trying to make a smooth walk but ending up stopping, hesitating, and generally not a very enjoyable experience for both...

My wife keeps saying the harness is better. Well, no. A leash around the neck is better, you have more control over the animal with it.
