Iran/Iranian is the current official name for the old Persia/Persian, so they are the same. Anyway, since you've requested for more Suggestions here is mine. Yes this artist is extremely talented but he's young and still needs to prove whether in musical term he's a sprinter or a marathon artist. Which brings me to the artist I'm going to recommend now. Dariush Eghbali was packing concert halls when Mohsen Yeganeh above wasn't even born. In fact he's still going strong after more than half a century. I don't think he's quite as agile with his voice as Mohsen Yeganeh is, but he's extremely good at performing to his strengths. The lyrics to his songs and his delivery are two of the most important aspects to look out for. He's been performing his trade in the USA for decades now. Most of his much-loved songs are actually revamped versions of his decades long originals. Personally I love most of his recent releases too. Anyway, I suggest one of his live performances. "Cheshm-e-man" seems to be one of the most favourite amongst his fans, but any live performance by him is in my opinion a winner. I Sincerely hope you get round to covering one of his performances.

Wow... I didn't expect you to go down that road but if you are looking for more persian songs I defintely recommend Mohammad Reza Shajarian who does classic traditional persian/iranian music and Homayoon Shajarian who does a more of crossover.

Classical guitar is very popular in Iran. Eveyone has one on their wall 😅 also guitar is originally invented by Iranians/Persians and has influenced latino classic music. There are many different style of music in Iran that is so unique and I am amazed how it has been kept hidden form the rest of the world. Iran is a poetic art loving nation, the whole culture built around music, wine and poetry. Persian is language of poetry.

Many years ago I heard one of the most beautiful songs I ever heard in all my life. It was on a juke box in a tiny Greek fast food restaurant. They had music in several languages. One of my selections was written in a language I thought was Arabic. Along came 2 guys and one of them commented, Oh, you like Iranian music! We're from Iran." I told them that I didnt know anything about the music, but I loved that song. Every time I went to that restaurant I played that song 3 times. This was in 1980-82. I went looking for the song on Iranian radio programs, but never found it. It was even more beautiful than the song that just played.

@shadid2242 No, It's too many years ago. All I remember is that he had a beautiful crystal clear voice, and he sounded as if he was crying. With a voice like that, he had to have been a big star, but why can't I find him? That was in Chicago; I live in Florida for many years now. If I knew that restaurant was still around, I would fly there just to hear that song again.

@@margiepoulos1028 perhaps you’ve listened to classical singing which have high notes and “chahchahe” (😅 which i do not know how to translate) you might want to check out “MohammadReza Shajarian” and if he’s not the one but have the same style, i can suggest more singers like him from 80s.

I need to say... in Iran, those who go to a concert... are not allowed to dance or get up from their seats because it is possible that the permission to perform the concert will be canceled by the government... so they express all their feelings with their voice. They express themselves.
This is the reason why Iranian people have one of the best harmony with singers.

if you would like to listen to more Persian music, I would recommend Sirvan Khosravi's "Baroone Payizi" (live concert). But whichever you choose, can't go wrong with Persian music. after Sirvan, I would also recommend Ehaam's "Cheshmanat Arezoost".

3:56 yes you hear a little similarity with Spanish/Latin music bcz Ziryab (a Persian/Kurdish guy) in late 700s moved to Spain from ME due to muslim conquest of Spain he was a great influencer on Spain music he even established one of the first schools of music in Cordoba (Spain) and world not to mention origins of modern guitar you know is Spain but guitar is an another form of 'tar' which is a Persian word/instrument originates to 3500 years ago for example one of the earliest Persian tar form is charta and chitara but chitara mostly used in central Asia especially Scyhtians and Huns etc used it...

Hi love and thank you for taking time and checking one out of the songs of my country. There are some, lets say characteristics about the iranian music. Obviously not all of the persian songs, but most of them, I mean the ones with heart breaking lyrics have a kinda faster and lets say "happy" rhythm and we use lots of metaphores. Our music is very rich and very melodic to the ear. But Mohsen Yeganeh did a great job performing this song, everybody love this song, even us, the iranians diaspora.

Great reaction. I think the response of the croud is so empathetic because you know they have all felt that too. I think there's a real catharsis taking place here at a group level on very personal individual hurts of love's lost but not in vain. The revel of the guitar at the end, when you don't really expect it to end, speaks to the that well as he plucks the stings of the guitar like the strings of his own heart, knowing that it was still worth the experience. It ends unexpectedly in a place where all that is left is the sound of the lonesome guitar's music like the love in one's heart, grieving but indulgent to its worth

Superb reaction. There are also many more beautiful Persian pop and classical songs from different Iranian artists. Would love to see your reaction to my beloved country's amazing music. Persians have been on top of the world from centuries ago in making various musical Instruments which you cannot find in any other part of the world.The western guitar is actually the child of 2 ancient Persian instruments called Taar and Sehtaar. Also Persia has been the cradle of music from thousands of years ago, when it was the most advanced civilization in the world, especially regarding art, music, literature, poetry(it's poetry is beyond this word, literally), science, math, inventions, etc., you name it.
