Takes more than a minute for the song to actually start. If your cutesy little intro guitar riffs are a full quarter of the song, you're doing a bad job.
I'm three years late in arriving here to tell you, o no sir, you are completely, entirely, and absolutely in error with your guitar intro bashing, needless and petulant. It's called 'mood setting', and it is masterfully executed. Clearly you are partial to the finger-in-the-ear, ale soaked acapella singing so very prevalent in British folk culture. Nothing wrong with that. I quite like it myself, but perhaps if you took up guitar studies for yourself, you might learn something about both appreciation and humility.
Didn't even know that Allan Taylor had British Folk. I love this song! Thanks for sharing.

In your not so humble opinion.

We'll be the judge.
