I am a percussionist myself and the fact that these guys are coming to play at my school soon is just so amazing to me, i think my band teacher had something to do with it because he is a an amazing percussionist too
I am smitten with this group. I saw them perform w Hubbard Dance Troupe in Berkeley, and thus began my love affair. I can't get enough of this soundscape -- I find it so delicate and alive and attuned. This is the wallpaper I want in my home. So excited that I have tickets to see them in March!
Philip Glass works great for Percussion ensemble. The sinthetizer adds more ambient sound, just like if it was a soundtrack for a motion picture. Love it ❤️
I particularly loved how the mallet percussionists and keyboardists collaborated with one another, projecting a Portuguese island rendition in Philip Glass style! :)
It´s about a river, but i feel like i took a rocket to my home planet and i'm leaving all the stages, pieces, trash, all thing that don't belong to me, beind, and when i'm getting there, that's just me and my spacesuit getting back home - AT LAST, I AM BACK HOME!"
I can't believe that a few (albeit supremely talented and well-schooled) men banging on bits of wood and metal can make me cry tears of joy and gratitude for this all-too-brief life that we are so lucky to experience!
Yayyyy I finally found it :D I saw a rendition of this at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire recently and it was soooo beautiful but I couldn't remember the name until just now
This may be too late. But, I found this on their website: Sheet music for Third Coast Percussion's arrangements of Philip Glass's Aguas da Amazonia can be purchased from Hal-Leonard (US), Musicroom (UK), and MusicshopEurope (EU).
Good job! Great interpretation! I just ordered that piece to have it played by my students but would need to know what pitches of almglocken are needed. That would help me very much! Thank you!
What's everyone's opinion of the meter for this piece? I feel most of the time it's triple simple, but by the end, the meter shifts to duple compound or quadruple compound.
What I hear is it starts out in 12/8 (compound) with some interspersed and sometimes superimposed 3/2, and then at 4:34 it changes to 3/4 or 6/4 (simple).

Life is wonderful
I feel like at least 100 of these views were me! Incredible sensitivity and the balance of sounds creates a trance of musical engagement. Stellar.
The dynamics are beautiful.
Wonderful piece, wonderful musicians. Philip Glass works so well for different combinations of instruments. Thank you for this, guys!
Really haunting and beautiful. You guys have a subtle touch... Good to see you all humbly serving the song..
This literally sounds like otherworldly music, so cool.
Замечательно! Это одна из моих любимых мелодий!
Wow!! That was beautiful!!!
Great texture with the marimba and the ahm glocken
Chris Burt glocks are smaller, that's a vibraphone
He said ahm glock its the huge instrument

Almglocken*
Brilliant music…very enjoyable 🎶 🙂
Can we give a shout out to the guy in green at the end who gets so into it when switching to marimba
Rewatched the video just for that. And I can totally understand him, as he plays my favourite part of the whole piece
His name's David Skidmore. He's done a bunch of educational videos for concert and orchestral percussion for Vic Firth. Really great videos, too.
@@daultontemplet4016 The best!

There's never enough cowbell.
LOL
Nice
Great piece! Really interesting how they sound really good together, even though I heard some dissonant chords here and there that bothers me
temazo!
Ich lerne das zu verstehen
Could have been a good three minute intro into a rock piece with drums, bass and electric guitar. But, still good on its own.
D bell is sharp. ;)
請問那個算是編鐘嗎?
More cowbells!!

gaia38ant sorry bud they're almglocken
Both terms are equally correct Bud. Not sorry.
Wheres my Chicago Gang!
Am I the only person who doesn't know what that huge instrument is? Could someone please tell me?
Inverted - Colors it’s a series of individual instruments. They’re called almglocken
So now I have to buy a vibraphone
Amazing piece, but I wish there were a better ending
that keyboardist seems a bit bored lol. other than that it was outstanding
Haha in the beginning yes but then when he switches to the marimba not at all.
I'm sure he wasn't though! :)
