Long time Subnautica fan here... I played and tested a LOT starting from very early in EA. Also played Below Zero which I didn't enjoy so much. I'm down with a ripoff if it's more fun than Below Zero. Also, the early game is giving strong Astro Colony vibes. Pretty sure Astrometica will end up being its own thing.
Really enjoying this series so far. Is it too similar to Subnautica? Sure. Do I care? Oh my god no. If a dev is going to give us more of the gameplay that makes this genre so great, please take my money. Cheers!

You spend 90% of your time searching/collecting resources with very little time (due to lack of oxygen) and some of them are almost impossible to find, like silver! Expect to die ALOT! Reload save ALOT! Spend hours searching a limited area, due to (yes, you guessed it) lack of oxygen! But I'm not going to quit! YET!!! 🤯😤
Let me start by saying, I like you as a content creator, and love the type of games you play. Unfortunately I don't watch everything because the constant cuts in editing really bothers my OCD and makes it very difficult to watch. Personally, I would love it if your videos were 2 or 3 times longer with minimal cuts. I hope you take this into consideration, and if not... it's your channel in the end. Either way, keep up the great games and your style of gaming!
I had installed the playtest in late March or early April. Played it a bit and then let it set for a couple of weeks. After watching your playthrough, I decided to fire it up and all I could do was uninstall it. I was prevented from playing it. I uninstalled and then attempted to reinstall and was told there would be no game until some time in Q4. 😒 At least let me continue to play what I downloaded... *UPDATE:* Interesting. There's a "Playtest", which you cannot play any more. Now there is a "Prologue" which you can play for some amount of time. In Q3 there is supposed to be the full early initial preview release thing, or whatever. Why didn't they just rename the Playtest to Prologue, update it and let you continue playing. Why the uninstall/install shuffle...?
space games have the worst interfaces. I love space engineers but the interface is impossible to read. This reminds me of that sadly. That blue background with white text. My eyes do not like it for some reason.

It seems to be a bit of a mashup of a few games. Subnautica, Astro Colony and maybe a touch of Planet Crafter. I don't really care, I like it.
There are few original. creations in the modern era. Everything is a variation on something else. I see subnautica and breathedge.

I've read at least one comment that says they're exactly the same, there isn't anything new in the prologue. I hope to find that isn't true.

Well I did die twice because I was being silly but it is not so bad. There is a grind but at least you know that there is some automation coming.
This reminds me of Breathedge an awful lot.

I have no idea. Maybe there would have been less interest if it had just been a playtest. I think this was a marking decision.
