I want an African Fat Tail so bad, but could never find a good place to get one. I'll start checking out that breeder today 😊 Mango is the cutest.

My boyfriend claims that he came down to my reptile/craft room this morning and decided to pick up Alejandro, my fat tail, who then supposedly attacked him and “death rolled” his finger 🙄😂 I think not.

My fat tail that I got a couple days ago doesn't care it just wants food and it wants it now!
I have 3 AFTs and 2 of mine screamed at me as babies so don't be decieved, they can have some sass when they are young too. I actually think Leos are easier to handle because many are naturally curious and will eventually come on your hand of their own volition, something my AFTs never do.
Jessica Kurth Really?! That’s so crazy they scream as babies too! And they are definitely more timid than Leo’s.
@@reptiliangarden Yeah it's the most pathetic attempt to be scary I've ever heard, it sounds like a squeaky toy haha. They have never bitten me though :)

I just got my fat tailed gecko today and she skinny tail so I’m feeding her and she’s so friendly and smiles when sleeping

Literally just got my first AFT this morning, overnighted across more than 1,140 miles and I’m so in love! His hatch date is Star Wars Day 2018 which I think is really cool, lol. He weighs a whopping 84 grams!!! Named him Sullivan because it means “little dark eyed one”. My sweet boy. ♥️♥️♥️

I don't know what it's like in other states, but Michigan expos have been exploding with aft and they're really cheap. I went to an expo last weekend and every vendor had them for $15-20. So they're definitely gaining traction.

Reptilian Garden it was a really small show too. I was shocked.
I saw a bunch at a show too, but I'm 99% certain they were wild caught on account of everything else on that table being obviously wild caught. A few "big" websites also sell AFTs for really cheap and I think they even have them labeled (deep DEEP in the description) wild caught.
I second Geckos by Sunne, I bought an AFT from her a while back and he was in excellent health (along with genealogy)

Early! I got another snake after coco on Friday! It is a pastel ball python called boo, he has stunted growth and is 2yrs old! We fed him yesterday and took it straight away!

Great video!🙌 Same colour! I just got a "6 month" African Fat tail 4 days ago , I just moved her into today into her new vivarium with a 75 watt heat/basking light controlled by a dimming thermo and shadestalker 7% uvb , these stay on from on 8am to 8pm then off for the night for when she likes to come out and hunt. I was reccomended not to use a heat matt in a wooden vivarium as they retain heat and the risks of burns + thermal blocking. The substrate is Eco earth and the hot side retains the heat well with rocks and ground heat until the next morning, cool side is spagnum moss topped and more humid with a hide. I picked her up for the first time today to move her into the new vivarium so very short few seconds she was on my hand and she was Calm but seemed a little timid. Any defensive postures i should look out for? Shes loving the new enclosure! Seems more active with the ubv i gotta say🦎🦎🦎

How long should I wait till handling? She's only 3 months old and being fed everyday so I'm not sure when I should start taming her. Thanks! :)
