My AFT stopped eating When I bought it he ate crickets by tweezers I have been feeding by syringe reptile critical care x approx 2 months. He never comes out voluntarily but is super chill when I bring him out I currently have uvb across the entire enclosure…. Vet recommended And I have a under tank heat mat and heat emitter both on the hot side both on thermostat Has had wormer 2x He is super tiny but has gotten stronger doubled its stomach girth since being syringe fed. Do you have any suggestions
That is one topic I can't stress enough with this species. There's so much misinformation out there and it's strictly because people want more animals and less space being used and the animals are the main ones suffering bc of it.
It's a Leo according to its classification. I'm not familiar enough with them to make an educated guess on that. But it's not being labeled as in the same species as fat tailed geckos. But more of a leopard gecko with a fat tail if that makes sense.
So for the heat tape, its fine on the pvc(?) Rack? Like it doesnt burn the tubs or the rack? Ive been trying to get into leopard gecko breeding and im scared that if theres no ventilation or something for the tape it will get too hot or something. Sorry if this sounds dumb or confusing I just want to make sure I dont burn down my house 😅
Yes!! And NO it doesn't sound dumb!! No question is dumb especially when you're asking for the safety and health of both yourself and your geckos. Heat tape works great of you buy it from a reputable source and if you have a thermostat. I ALWAYS check my heat tape connections every few months when I'm cleaning and daily I check my thermostat to make sure it's working properly.

They are THE BEST animals. Great pets and typically very sweet animals. Defintely in my top 5 favorite geckos.

They are such amazing pets. I have Leo's to but african fat tails stole my heart of the two.

With uvb exposure, would that be ok to feed them D3 once/ twice a month?
