I wonder why our sentience exists instead of not existing.

Are you sure that ‘we exist instead of them’? Or could they also exist and be asking the same question about us?
Just because we cannot perceive something with our senses doesn’t mean that it doesn’t have a reality- of course, our science may say otherwise but it is lightyears behind truth and metaphysics.

True, they reveal a greater intelligence
Kind of funny, because every word you speak is a thought and every thought is a thought, so you're going around in circles. I always look at it from the physical level and break it down to the microscopic level, bins down to the nano or pico level... There is nothing there but energy, there never was anything else and there never will be anything else but energy.
And where does this energy exist apart from your mind?
