Thanks for your comment - yes we are lucky. Sadly there are less and less of them as the costs are beginning to get prohibitive for car clubs...

Great video, again, Graham. And your first ‘guest’ (Paul Whitehouse) should start his own TH-cam channel! Italy, Wine and MGBs!

Thanks for your comment - yes totally agree - Paul mentioned off-camera that several people have asked him to organise MG trips abroad... this sounds like a lot of fun!

Another fun video. I enjoyed relating to our travels in our 74.5 MGB GT. The visit with Paul Whitehouse about his 4000 mile trip reminded me of our 9500+ seven week trip around the USA. Starting from our home in North Carolina we traveled to the Northern, Western and Central points of the lower 48. Along the way we saw all the crazy sites one normally passes up. The world's Largest Ball of Twine, the Spam Museum, the great pyramid of North Dakota to name just a few.
However as Marmalade owner, Ken, reminded us, some of the best times were the interactions with people at stops. Everyone has a story about someone they knew and an MGB.
As Wayne and Claire pointed out having a supportive partner, wife, is critical to enjoying your MGB. My wife Pat is always ready to go as long as we can make the detours to the wacky sites she finds in the Atlas Obscura, and there are plenty out there.
We are already looking forward to our next trip to the Southwestern states in 2025. The Meteor Crater of Winslow AZ, Death Valley and who knows what else awaits our little MGB.

Lovely video. These little cars are robust and an adventure to drive. I have been to the southern United States several times and each drive involved 1400 to 1600 miles. Along with a trip to Colorado that was 3300 miles all together. We deove through the Eisenhower Tunnel on the way to Breckenridge which is around 11,500 feet in elevation. The car was solid on all trips except due to a frozen alternator bearing but we were near Indianapolis and Connel’s MG. My 1977 B when maintained is solid.

Excellent stuff! I'm really tempted to find an MGB GT (and there are loads of them for sale), but they all seem to be near the south coast. All that salty sea air couldn't have been good for them, though.

Thanks for your comment - I'm particularly biased but I would say just get one - you won't regret it! There's loads of videos and advice online (including ours - th-cam.com/video/UEsTs23U-5I/w-d-xo.html ) and its well worth contacting the MG Owners Club as their technical department are really helpful. The best "Buyers Guide book I've found is this one - amzn.to/49EihLa

Another brilliant video Graham. I’d like to hear about insuring an MG classic, do most people insure their car under classic car, what should I look out for, I take it mileage would be restricted to a few thousand in a year, what other restrictions are there and anything else to be aware of please. David

Thanks for the comment - and the suggestion! I'll have a think about how best to approach this one. In the meantime, I reckon most people do insure on a classic policy as they're usually much cheaper. On important point is that most people go for an agreed valuation. This is usually done by an expert either within the insurance company, or by one of the clubs. Not sure where you're based, but as a starter, the MG Owners Club have recently change their insurance partner to Adrian Flux. We had a chat with them at the restoration show in March :-

Wire wheels are not that difficult to keep clean. They are more than steel wheels or ROStyle, but not difficult. I do a deep clean once a year. You need to remove the wheels from their splines clean and re grease the splines anyway so when i do that a use a cleanser and preservative the wheels. Takes couple of hours once a year. Regular maintenance consists of using a non corosive spray on wheel cleaner, i use Adams, spray it on and brush it in between the spokes rinse and blow dry with a leaf blower. i only do that once every couple of months. I do live in Southern California so they never get wet so that help them sparkle like new.
