@joeyboogenz , please allow me to reword.... Artimus playing style wasn't the right fit for Skynyrd's sound, imo, although he did have his moments. I think he shined on the Street Survivors cut Honky Tonk Nighttime Man. Nevertheless, Gene Odom has stated that Artimus was going to be fired after the Street Survivors Tour in favor of Bob Gaines, Cassie & Steve's brother. To your point of anyone pre-crash being considered an original member, you'd have to include Ricky Medlock as well.
Last summer, I went to Criswell Park. It is now a football field has been since the early 80s. Anyway, I went over to where the home plate would be. Stuck my dagger in the ground and I hit pay dirt. Yes, the home plate that started the Lynyrd Skynyrd. I own it. It is the earliest piece of Lynyrd Skynyrd memorabilia.
I should pin a comment on this as it seems most likely the Artimus shot was part of the mythos invented by the man himself in further research on this matter 🌶️

hes full of zebra shit.
Ronnie's wife Judy was not on the plane. You got a lot of facts wrong.
Yes I've been made aware of this and that's on me. What else did you find was wrong?
🌶️
Will there ever be an accurate account of the plane crash?? There is always a couple bits of misinformation..
Seems it's been an ambiguous affair
🌶️
There'll never be a definitive version of what happened that night, even the people who survived couldn't agree what happened, at one point rossington accused Pyle of running away from the crash not going to get help, which was not only wrong but very out of order
The totally fictional fantasy movie Artimus Pyle made was eventually released. It`s like a comedy skit if you know the real truth. The guy is a fibber.
That movie is more like the adventures of Artemis Pyle, it's about a crash he was in everyone else is just there
Was the movie the one that was released in 2020? The Street Survivors one? If so I feel like I should watch it. I feel like a seperate video is needed just for Artimus 😅
🌶️
@@livelistenerased TITLE: The Lynyrd Skynyrd plane crash movie - thoughts of the real survivor / Hanging Out With Gene Odom
Lynyrd Skynyrd was not a great Southern rock band . They were one of the greatest rock bands ever . Maybe the greatest .
That's a fair and true point 😉
🌶️
Good stab mate. How bout you let this rebel boy do one on Golden earing. I bet I can do better !!
I've never heard of Golden Earring 😬
Giving them a spin now though
🌶️
Never? Golden Earring was fab
This guy should get his facts strait, there's enough false news out there
A few have been addressed in the comment section already. I apologise this was a rushed effort and admit there are a few incorrect statements but as for false news - no malice was intended for this episode
🌶️
growing up in jacksonville im the 80s you didnt like thier music too bad 🤣 still live in jax, the city really never jas embraced them. clay county has but jville 🤷♂️ not really. the people yes, but landmarks amd stuff very slow comming, and the ones that exsists private people did
I wish we had a band like Skynyrd to embrace here but alas. What kind of landmarks have been made for the band?
🌶️
@@livelistenerased just small signs , where the hell house was they have a sign, its a neghiborhood now. all the streets are named after thier songs. there is a ronnie van zant park. just some plaques. some of the homes the family still lives in. a private person bought the van zant home he is trying to restore it, he got it declared a historical sight. but nit really much. if you visit where they are buried of course. and they are buried how they appeared on stage. very little actually. as time passes the younger generation dont really appreciate them. the almond brothers also got thier start here. i mean i suppose you could call us thr home of southern rock. the baseball field where they met is still there. they named it after tim tebow 🙄
@@livelistenerased if you visit the graves you will see fans habe left guitar picks, beer, joints, and rebel flags. 😁 the highschool is still there. no longer called robert e lee, not PC cause he fought for the south. no mention of the band. some of us felt they shouldve named the school after ronnie. but nope. long story about a huge southern baptist church as to why so little. the church no longer has the influnce it did. but years have passed now. but thier music is still played regularly on the radio here.
@@joshsmith4512 it's still cool to see some honour in their home town for the band. I get that things change and don't last forever but I think Skynyrd will last longer than we really expect. Now I gotta play Whipping Post after you mentioned The Allman Brothers 🤘🌶️
@@joshsmith4512 I understand that's a touchy subject. Still would be cool to have some part of the school named after the band. At least I know if I tune in to the radio up there I'll have something good to listen to 🌶️
Bro you lost me after you got facts wrong at the beginning
What facts did I get wrong?
🌶️
Allen Collins was 11 years old in1963
@@kevinbrown3611 correct. He formed a high school band with Ronnie Van Zant in the 60s. Lynyrd Skynyrd wouldn't really be the band we know until around 1970
🌶️
@@livelistenerased Ronnie, Rossington knew each other prior to their aquatintce with Collins, Ronnie hit a baseball into Burn's head and on the way for a band practice they ran into Collins on his bicycle.
@@livelistenerased Collins was in elementary school in 63
O just love when people try and do mini-docs on something they know nothing about 30 seconds in he's already fuckin up Allen was the fourth guy Ronnie,Gary, and Bob met first then Allen bruh where you get your facts from?
Thanks for watching the video. Glad you liked it 🌶️
@@livelistenerased well I didn't watch the whole video that shit was a massacre I'm sure by the comments you'll have a lot of LS fans to keep tuning in get your facts straight before you try to make real videos
@@glennh.2573 thanks for your comments. It really helps the algorithm 🌶️
Ronnie didnt want to be a singer until 1965 he was 17yo.
1963??? lol Allen Collins was 11 y.o???
they all met in 1966.
Gary and Bob were spectaters at the base ball game, they were not rival teams, Ronnie was 2 and 3 years older than Gary and Bob. Larry wasnt there .
it was after the days the base ball game, Ronnie knocked on Bob's door,
they were never called my backyard, that was Peter Carr 's band.
you forgot the first name " The Pretty Ones.
Gary Rossington was the only one who had Skinner as a coach, they were all differen ages, and went to different schools.
the jacksonville coliseum in 1975 was the only time Coach skinner introduced Skynyrd, you didnt mention Coach Skinner attemted to sue them in 1975.
the coach skinner became a coat tail rider and opened night clubs using the name .
1974 wasnt the hieght of them, it was the begining, Octtober 1976/1977 was the peak
in 1975 Nuthin Fancy did not have the honkettes on it,
Gimme back my Bulletts doesnt have the honkettes on it.
the honkettes joined in January 1976 2 albums later, , Steve Joined in June 1976.
the live album released in September 1976 was their first album.
you really confused, a few things, the honkettes, Gary's accident, the live album, (wrong order,)
Double trouble the line is "Eleven times ive been Busted"
Gary's car accident was in September 1976 after the live album.
Aerosmith did not inspect the plane the DAY BEFORE lol
months before, but they had concerns about the pilots passing a bottle, and had nothing to do with the plane.
Skynyrd had different pilots, so you saying it could of been avoided is false and a rumour.
rock on,
how old is your skynyrd t-shirt?? do you even know who Skynyrd are?
I know a little, you got that right 😉
Mistakes were made in the script in its rush so I'll take your notes on board 🌶️
But they were called My Backyard to begin with 🌶️
no they were not,
as i said that is Peter Carr's band, he played with the hour glass (allman bros) and was a studio musician at Muscle shoals,(swamper)
wiki might say my backyard, but it is wrong, wiki is not a relieable source.
no where in skynyrds history were the called my backyard,
their first gig in October 1966 they had no bass player and no name!
the second gig they ever played was a christmas party in december 1966, the called themselves "The Pretty Ones" it was the only gig they played with that name,
they became the Noble five in 1967,
rock on

My goodness! You need to get a lot of facts straight, Mr.! A. Judy Van Zandt was not on that plane. B. Artemis Pyle is a big liar! He never was shot at! Therefore, he was never shot! You need to talk to Gene Odom then redo your TH-cam video!
Yes I've heard this a few times. I'll pin a comment of corrections for future comments 🌶
Come to Jax and I'll take you on "Swamps 'Leonard Skinner' Reality Tour. Then you'll see how messed up your video was.
If I manage to get out that way I'll be sure to check it out
🌶️
Street Fighters???? lol
Did I say that 😄
Send me the time stamp I gotta see that 😅🌶️
Sorry but you couldnt be bothered to edit out your mistakes and dead seconds?
I wish I had an editing team that could do that for me but alas I am a humble channel who does it all by myself. Mistakes were made but I hope that this video can be a source of celebration for a band or to help others find attached it about their music 🌶️
@@livelistenerased yeah I don’t have one either but on the same software you used to put the stuff at the top left that same software can clip and delete just saying
@@SamanthaIeraci I do my editing through a third party software not on TH-cam so I'm not familiar with YT editing tool once a video is up but I'll look into it. Cheers 🌶️
@@livelistenerased as you should TH-cam editor sucks. But that has it too
@@SamanthaIeraci I was going to make a seperate video of corrections and make a link in the video because it does bother me and I do get these comments a few bit on here 🤫
What happened here? You glitched out and repeated yourself several times. It’s quite hilarious in conjunction with all the facts you got so incredibly wrong. Link to glitch out. th-cam.com/video/FA9EhQXdgKA/w-d-xo.html
I think that was the transition effect. I remember adding this scene after. Thanks for adding the link for me to check (might avoid this transition in future edits)

Perhaps?
Thanks?
