"Pada' means feet in sanskrit. Every sign has alloted particular animal/species like Lion/pot/fish etc. Just imagine that each sign has 4 feets like lion. It will give some sort of clarity.

If this is extended with incorporation of various RASHI Lords,Nakshatra Lords,And the result of different padas of Nakshatra to make it a complete instrument for use of Astrologers.
