This was exactly the problem my pikup also had.
I have been using the pikup as a manual control for years, but thanks to this clear video my pikup is fully automatic again.
Thank you very much for the beautiful and clear video😀

Usually a stuck solenoid. I just flood it with 99% IPA and use synthetic grease. Namely superlube.Q3 is a wonderful turntable. Same motor as the 1500 and metal plinth.

Well not really because SL-1500 motor is a transistor driven. Maybe the SL-1500MK2 is the same.

Greetings from Peru, today I bought a similar model, but I realize that when I set the function for .7 inch discs, the selector does not work, it only works with large discs, what could be happening? I would appreciate your information please

It has 2 strings one for repeat mode the other one is for record size selector. Check if the string is there. Clean the part were the string is attached and lubricate the mechanism.

@@Woodys_Hobbies Thank you very much, I just read your answer, I will do the test, but today I found another surprise, I realized that when I put the record on, I see that the record repeats and repeats, apparently the arm does not move, when the record spins , the arm seems to be hard and that causes the record to repeat, it could be a cleaning issue, I would appreciate your response

@@bruzalejandro2575 That is a stiff tonearm. Check the tonearm and move the tonearm side ways put an oil in the tonearm neck and check the mechanism that connects to the tonearm it might be a stuck mechanism caused by hard grease.

@@Woodys_Hobbies Thank you very much, it really helped me a lot to know this detail, I still can't open it. What happens is that I have two Tecnics SL Q3 models, one that I found years ago but it had this hard arm problem. They had already seen it and a technician had seen it. fixed it but I had it stored for a while a few days ago I used it and I had that same problem again, and with the other table turntable that I just bought it happens that the automatic arm cannot read when it is in 7 inch mode, but I will put it to the test Thank you very much for your help, it is really a very useful page, thank you very much

Could you recommend how to fix that release lever (the one with the green tape)? For some reason it doesnt go towards those two white areas. My TT doesnt make that sound when you push start/stop button. The black part moves just fine.

Try first to check the contacts of the Start/Stop button. When you push the button the tester reads to zero ohms. If the reading is infinite or high resistance you need to clean or replace the button.

Does the Technics SL-D303 have a similar mechanism? I'm experiencing a similar issue with the start/stop on mine.

No not really the same but the way the mechanism inside works the same.
