This, 'Come Winter', and 'Thrill is Gone', I vividly remember being some of the first songs that made time feel like it truly slowed down. Understanding what it means to vibe. #MiddleSchoolDays
Dude!! I remember those were also my favorite 3 songs by Drake when I started listening to him. Come Winter really made me think about life and relationships at 15 yrs old 😂😂😂😂
The good thing about Drake is that he doesn’t need to prove he’s a dope lyricist, people say he’s not a lyricist either because of simple hate or because they never searched his catalog deep enough
I partially agree but I feel like he’s abandoned this style in order to become more widely accepted which of course he has. He’s pretty much a household name now which is a positive thing in many ways. I think he’s at the stage now that if he went back to this sound and flow, the industry and people who mimic everything Drake does would follow suit (or at least try to) and the old school rap heads who never heard this side of drake would no longer be able to question his ability to rhyme bar for bar with the best. It’ll also prove how many people in the industry aren’t able to pull off such a niche sound and lyrical complexity.
I remembered this song randomly today. It’s a shame none of this stuff is on streaming platforms. I wonder what drake’s personal collection of his own songs looks like?
It’s 2019 almost 2020 and I just had to research this song and these other singles that weren’t in his mixtapes. Even though I wasn’t taking my life anywhere and had no plans or goals in life , these drake songs made my life so worth living. Would ditch school just to come home lay down and listen to drizzy drake. Like if you still listening!
But what other loosies were not in his mixtapes? He did like 3 official before the first album but... There were so many that had exclusives...lemme know I thought I had heard them all
its crazy i havent heard all his old songs in forever. i was one of his fans since the very beginning like degrassi days and when i found out he made music i tried to search it and it was a little hard to find besides myspace and stuff but when i first heard his music i loved it and i knew he was gonna make it. i miss his old sound tbh but his stuff now is still good but i miss stuff like this. still proud of him though.
Dude that switch wife's like uncle phile is dope. You ever seen him on MTV cribs he shows all his notebooks with his flows and he spits that on the show
This song was posted was posted on my birthday....my favorite drake song...i play this after every girl i've been with wondering what happened to us...lol oh well
I know man. I was pretty stoked when I first heard him in 2008 and 2009, and even when he collaborated w/ Little Brother but I can't help but feel he went to the dark side
It’s been 12 years since you posted this comment and I have to say your comment didn’t really age well considering Drake raps about money and sex a lot now
I Remember when this first dropped still love it it hits different experiencing similar now I was just starting middle school leaving elementary when this dropped….
Yo Drake Is On The Come-Up Right Now He Has Done Of Thing So Far More Then Some In This Song...I Think He Can Blow Up Toronto Hip Hop On A Mainstream Level

One of his hidden gems. I remember when I first heard this song, I was high and the song sounded even better than it did sober.

The good thing about Drake is that he doesn’t need to prove he’s a dope lyricist, people say he’s not a lyricist either because of simple hate or because they never searched his catalog deep enough
