What I really love about this song is that it has the same 'twangy' instrument that is used in the stock RPG2000 battle theme. It really gives the soundtrack a sense of coherency.
haha it’s actually not the default battle theme. rpg maker 2003 doesn’t support mp3 files in their RTP. also this was made from the same band lol wish you a fine day
This one's my favourite out of all Space Funeral tracks, even though I love all of them. It's probably the only one to get me into a reflective trance about all points of my life until now, and pretty much gives me the feeling that "sometimes you are sad, and that's ok"
Whenever I listen to this song, I see myself alone on a beach, watching the waves crashing on the sand. It's starting to rain, and it's pretty gloomy, but for whatever reason, I'm calm. A little sad sure, but I'm calm. I'm at peace. I love this song and the game that it's in.
I don't feel any negative or sad emotions when I listen to this song. This song more makes me feel like you've already come a long way since the beginning of your journey, but you still have a long way to go. It's a song that feels like it's about the progress you've made and are making. It's difficult, but you'll get there. You just need to stay determined and not give up. That's only my interpretation of it, anyway.
Why does the entire space funeral soundtrack make you feel suicidal, but in a really positive way? It's like watching a nuclear bomb fall but you're so stoned you just stand with your arms open, embracing it. I want to cry from joy and sadness at the same time.
You're exactly right, that's it. It's like you're sitting watching the whole world crumble, acts of pointless death, noble sacrifice, malice and misery, all around you. And despite all that, or perhaps because you see the mix of tragedy and comedy in it all, you smile, even while meeting your own end. It's the theme of someone who stands at the close, looking back at everything they gained and lost, and is just.. really okay with it, and ready to go for whatever's next, even if it's their own demise. I love it.
that's toro! You're right on the money my fellow commenter! I get the same feeling from most Vaporwave music, but this entire soundtrack is the condensed version of that very feeling you describe.
I feel bittersweet about Space Funeral. While I feel it had a few good laughs and a neat atmosphere, a lot of what atmosphere it had was built on this music which people praise it for. While I enjoy that the author had the idea to use these tracks, they are still not theirs, and I feel the original composers and or sources for said tracks deserve significantly more attention
@@Chameleonardodavinci That's true. I just hope folks also explore the original artist sources too. You can find a lot of neat an unexpected gems that way
@@PingasCreeper yea man, i know i have, im big fan of ruth white and things like the vyacheslav mescherin orchestra thanks to this obscure lil rpg game
All I have left is my fucking ego
There will always be RPG Maker 2000
This theme is so peaceful, depressing, and haunting at the same time.

My favorite one of the whole soundtrack. It's so filled with melancholy.

My favorite music of Space Funeral, a bit sad, a bit happy, but always wonderful.
WHAT THE HELL AM I LIVING FOR
This song is just so~ * drinks cheap vodka with a dozen benadryl*
Listen to this song when I cry.

I FINALLY FOUND OUT WHY PROSTHETIC SELF LOVE SOUNDED SO FAMILIAR
Totally get While My Guitar Gently Weeps vibes from the intro
Checkpoint: dealing with health problems, making headway. I feel better, but not much. But I'll make it.

I love this song and the game that it's in.
This has an oddly eastern feeling. Like some kind of song you'd hear for an opening or ending theme of some old tokusatsu or japanese series.
sounds like hotel california to me
Old times had some great music in this style
A lot of the soundtrack sounds like that, TBH
Sounds like something out of kill bill

kind of ironic considering its by far the shortest RPG ive ever played.
I get what you're saying tho, this track does give that sort of feeling.
Lions are assholes...
Probably my favourite song from the soundtrack. It's so nice and in a way relaxing
If While My Guitar Gently Weeps was made as Background music for a TV show.

Suits the location that it's in perfectly.

Suicidal isn't really positive. I think nihilistic is the word you're looking for maybe? I get what you mean though
its not that deep
it's a gay little ballad is what it is and y'all'all'all need to get some jesus in you and lighten up a little bit, see?
Melody sounds like "Moonlight Serenade"
Beautiful.

I don't understand the bittersweet feeling then...Space Funeral exposed a bunch of new people to this stuff and gave it more attention.
Meh they got attention thru this, ppl like me listen to the soundtrack all the time, it's a non profit game so who really cares? I sure don't
