    Don't follow this video for stair layout. He doesn't know what he's doing. The last step IS THE UPPER FLOOR ! Also you don't add the tread thickness into your stair calculation.
    Here's how to do it: Measure lower floor to top FINISHED floor. Take that number and divide by 7. As an example 116 1/2 inch (116.5) divided by 7 = 16.64. Now take the lower floor to upper floor measurement and divide by 16. 116 1/2 divided by 16 = 7.28. 7.28 = 7 9/32 inch. This is your riser height. Your cut for the tread depth is always 10 inches. Now you can cut your stair jacks. AFTER the jacks are cut you need to cut the tread thickness off of the bottom of each of the jacks so your steps will all be equal height from the first step from the bottom to the last step onto the top floor. Very simple. No fancy calculator or app needed. Just basic math.
    I can guarantee if he cut his jacks the way he was figuring, his stairs would not pass inspection.
