@@ArtemGit literally shows the weight at the top at 1850 lbs / 850 kg. It was stripped of its engine and ancillary parts, but it was still estimated at 2,000 pounds when they first made it lol.

2 things to comment. First of all, the nerve of people commenting how this isn't that impressive, "Ronnie did more", I can do 2000lbs... Bro, if you've been to more than 3 or 4 gyms, and it doesn't take being a pro to do that, you'll know that every leg press is different. There are angles (seat, guides, foot platform), there's a thing called friction?, the stability of the device (this one was wobbly). Also, these reps were dead stop repetitions, srarting the push from full stop... And a lot of added factors that make this implement unique. The nerve to think that your random gymbro ass can even come close to this display of human strength is just unbelievable. Second, the refereeing was awful and biased. Some athletes, Novikov for example, were required to stop 3/4 seconds before coming down on most of their reps, then other athletes like Mr. Shaw was stopping 0'5/1 s at the top before coming down, and being stucked at almost lockout waiting for the referee's call with 840 kg on your legs is debilitating and unfair. And I don't care if the one that benefits from this biased rules is the great Brian Shaw or your average Joe, I just gotta call out bullshit when I see it because I'm real like that. Peace.
Great event! Maybe it's just an allusion.. but it really looked like to me like some guys had to do a larger range of motion than others.. which I thought the whole set up was supposed to eliminate I could be wrong it just really did look like some had to go deeper to me 🤷🏼♂️ im probably wrong, as i really cant see with all the set up they did tbey could get that wrong. Its a real muscle burn event i think! Its like the reps looked easy then they just had enough!
Well if it was in rules meeting that you cant leave handless than ruling is fair. Evan knew about it but probably forgot. Couple of his reps also was droped instead of lowered so all things considered it was fine.

Definitely.. just an inch or two makes a massive difference..(next time you are in the gym , go to a higher weight that you are used to and just test how crazy it is going an inch lower than u usually do..) u can't just let it be free max range of motion like u would in a gym. They are very much focusing on the safe 90 degree angle of the knee
Ok, not being funny but people really don't get that u cant do crazy weights on a leg press in the same way u would in a gym..now i know some people do but its very very unsafe and u cant officially do that to guys in a competition.. yes the range might be a tad short, but do u know how bad even an inch or two lower would be?! Anyone ever tried a max kinda weight on a machine themselves? (I do not recommend) if i ever do really heavy weights on a leg press i intentionally go not as low as i can till that weight feels comfortable then work on max depth.. imagine doing max depth with a weight u don't even know u can lift on a leg press!! U would just be stupid. You cant just rock up with a standard leg press wack a car on it and say 'ok lads jump on and just do what u can max range' I do agree that some times it looks like shaw gets away with things, the whole competition really is skewed in his favour (all events being really focused on strict heavy heavy weight movements and add in that its at altitude that hes used to and most of the guys aren't, i personally think that needs looking at as they were really suffering, unnecessarily) but hey i guess hes putting out his money and all the time and trying to build a legacy not just for himself but for the sport so hey give the guy a little credit.
Yes, with a squat , the weight being on u means u get your nervous system drained by having to just control your core etc. they are just different exercises, not comparable. Leg press is still a great leg strength exercise and especially to focus right down to increase certain areas of your legs. It's not 'squat or leg press' they both have their place. Squats certainly are one of the best overall strengths movements tho.
