  • In this video I complete a quick overnighter exploring and hunting in my second New South Wales State Forest. I also packed the old gold pan and managed to have a little prospect around the creeks.
    No game seen but it was a great checking out a new area and getting away from the city for a couple days.

    Awesome to see. I'm from Brisbane in Rochedale. I find that most of the northern NSW forests are empty. Have you been further south yet?

    • @LiquidAntler
      @LiquidAntler  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No so far only checked out the northern parks. Still great to explore but not a lot of game sign. Looking at a few trips down south this year.

    Thanks for the video - good to see how to tackle some new country. Finally approved for my A/B so looking forward to getting out there! Assume this was somewhere up near the QLD border based on some of the signs in the video?

    Electrical tape on the barrel end has limitations.
    Possibly with a dirty barrel the fouling would accelerate erosion of the exit lands. It may do the same simply by impeding exhaust gases. But the biggest risk is in wet weather when water can get into the barrel via the action, and it will then sit inside the end confined by the tape. Depending on quantity this could cause wear, a bulge or more interesting problems, water doesn't compress. So particular caution is prudent hunting in rain if using barrel tape, it can be helpful, not always.

      @LiquidAntler  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi John, i only leave the tape on during the hunt. Worked well for me 👊👌

    I have been 2 weeks ago in this area for deer hunting but private property. Shot 1 meat animal. Property wasn't dense as the state forest ,will try this forest later this year.

    Hello mate, someone who also wears glasses pretty much all the time. Do you have any tips when using binos while wearing glasses?

    • @LiquidAntler
      @LiquidAntler  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      With my binos I am able to screw the eye caps in which makes it a lot easier to use with glasses. Just recently got laser eye surgery so not an issue any more.

    • @johnmead8437
      @johnmead8437 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Always have quality lens tissues to wipe lenses with, always. It is ridiculous how many quality optics are ruined by experts and professionals. Never lend quality optics, like lending the beloved, & closely watch anyone using them with you and snarl venomously when they make the slightest move towards a shirt sleeve or toilet paper etc.
      If you are hot, you have to dry off your eye area and cool down to reduce lens fog. Even holding them with fingertips helps, glasses worn loosely. A little plain dishwash detergent or spit helps a bit, applied and wiped clear.
      Most binocs have fold down eye caps or screw out ones, use cups in with glasses
