Finally a good video on rent a girlfriend. Not only do you not just lump in certain moments and call the show bad, but also explore the good and interesting parts of it. i havent read the manga but the anime has been insanely fun to watch, because the mistakes kazuya can make can be funny or relatable, or so absurd you feel surprised and like "bruh!". This show keeps much more interest to me than most other shows, as they just feel like watching some overly formal script roleplay, whereas this show actually, in a way, feels deeper. Great video, and I hope more people can appreciate a show rather than shitting on it collectively
Dude I love the way how you present each topic/point clearly and throughly whilst having really good production quality. I also love how your content doesn’t focus on negativity (criticizing or berating a show/thing), I love your content and I’ll be proud to say I was here before 1 million subscribers!
Yeah because first 2 season is the peak of the manga, expecially the movie arc if it gtets adapted... The rest of the manga is the reason why people hate the franchise...
Half the people who watch it and hate it haven't read the manga though, they're just flaming the anime, and I think it's cause they see themselves in kazuya and don't like that lol
people that read the manga say that "season 3" is the peak of the manga, even if with "season 4" done and its fallout I argue it's great too. it's a nightmare reading it week by week that's for sure.
@@ArkNeuron I think your right about people seeing themselves in Kazuya because while I love him and the anime now at first I could not stand him because he was pathetic with how he acted but once I realized I was the same way at points it made me start to love him which in term also helped me to love and accept myself more
I have so much respect for you raising the torch and fighting to show people this anime has lots of redeeming qualities to it. Tbh its one of my favorites and Kazuya is my spirt animal with so much of his personality life and relationships with girls is sooo freaking relatable to my own love life to the point where I myself have paid tons of girls to do things with and go through all those different emotions Kazuya goes through. I really appreciate this breath of fresh air perspective in a sea of so much hate and makes me feel less awkward loving the show myself for its awkward relatability and soft fluffy moments
Whether a community loves or hates a show, it all comes down to what you yourself relate to and come to appreciate. Glad you feel more comfortable about the show :D Edit: besides, 9 times out of 10 when the only attention a show gets is flame, it's one specific thing, not the whole show. Ex: Guilty Crown's ending was arguable pretty underwhelming, but the rest of the show was amazing.
this is honestly the first time i have seen someone praise rent a girlfriend while i haven't seen it for myself i did hear manga got better later on up till before the start of the most recent arc
With how long it's been out, I'm surprised no one's really talked about the good aspects of it lol. The cringe is meant to be comedic and past that, it's really not as bad as people make it out to be
@@bluefenneris9009 you have to approach it with an open mind, rent a girlfriend is more similar to past masterpieces like maison ikkoku, from both the "rom" and "com" themes. it has the highest highs and the lowest lows, it's a roller coaster and I think the main target audience is older than Kaguya's and Horimiya's exactly because of his themes and how they are treated, for instance the older you are the more you are ok giving Kazuya a "pass" for his shortcomings while it's really triggering for the younger audience.
Maybe I'm a terrible person, but when I saw the "Rent-a-Girlfriend" title, I had no opinion either way, I didn't hate the title at all... I just laugh all fucking day long at it, lmfao.
I feel like most of the people that parrot the point that it's a cringe show base it off of what they've heard or 2 clips they've seen. Although I think there is also a lot going for the show too
I have my own personal theory about what this show want to tell us too. Alot men are to shy for they're own good. this author makes fun of the shyness. showes us how cringe it is. maybe trying encouraging us to take the guts and tell the women what we rly want instead streat it out for 1-2-3y until we confess. bc than it will be to late. but like I said, it's my own little tjeo/tought on this show
It goes both ways too. Kazuya is too stressed about what he should do since he's constantly beating himself down, and Chizuru keeps leading him on without taking any concrete action cause she doesn't know what she wants. The chemistry is there, it's just a matter of Kazuya giving himself more credit and Chizuru realizing just how much Kazuya does for her, both in supporting her emotionally without pushing boundaries, and in helping her realize her dream. Also in recognizing how capable he is when he sets his mind to something.
oh absolutely. Paradise arc is by far one of the craziest arcs in the entire manga, and I would be surprised if it wasn't met with overwhelming reception, positive or negative. Granted, it sacrifices quite a bit of development between Kazuya and Chizuru, but that is rebuilt upon in a more genuine fashion in the more recent chapters. People give the author a lot of shit, but I'm starting to believe he knows what he's doing, so I'm highly anticipating season 4.
I think this show has potential if theres some development with the last episodes in season 2, but my opinion is the mc ruins this show with the overly cringey scences and having no special attributes, he could be classified as a side caracter with how boring he is and hard to watch.
You could also say that he's a lot like some actual people, just to a slightly extreme degree. He can be cringe, cause he's awkward as hell, but he's also extremely considerate of others, which kinda stems into that.
Season 1 was better, Season 2 is trash lmao. I'd give S1 a 8 out of 10 because it had way more depth to it, while S2 just feels like tons of filler,so I'd give it a 4 of 10.
actually is good dumpster fire anime but it fell of on the manga went all kazuya development went zero.... it so frustrated when all this time you cheering for him end be bull shit after all...
You know what I actually agree with you it is a fantastic show. Please read more I'm going on a rant. First off it is complete cringe from start to finish even in the manga it just keeps cringing I've never seen a show that makes me cringe every second every page every chapter it is like the Mona Lisa of cringe, and then just to add a cherry on top the writer the mangiku is literally jealous of his own main character,. Let me say that again he's literally envious of him. So I'm hoping in the end it goes so dark like I mean real dark. Get some what is the show called Happy days or high school days I think it's called high school days. Yeah that would really twist. I don't know like I don't really want that but then again it's like it's like a side of me is like I want the writer to do that because it's like his stick for being jealous of his Mc but on the other hand I kind of want the MC till like actually like get it together and stuff like oh my God . And the blonde hair chick it just seems really weird like how she's like stalking him and all sorts of stuff not really but it's like blackmailing. And jealous and envious like she seems like a crazy girl that's like I want this type of man I want him to never sleep I want him to if he gets sick to keep on working that type of chick but she seemed like I don't know like I just can't get a read on her. All I know is that the chick is probably knocked up like we don't know if he did it with her I think he did and she was really disappointed maybe or something or she finds out that she's knocked up and the whole situation will start to flip. But then again it's been more than like 9 months inside the story so I don't know like wait there hasn't been a whole year yet well maybe there has been besides the point it's just been I like oh this is like the perfect like there needs to be a new genre called the cringe genre
Cringe? Absolutely. I just wanted to make the somewhat valid point that the storywriting is at least better than what most people make it out to be. Or at least, there's a lot more character development than people care to realize. :)

Just gotta have faith, that's how I see it. The pacing in the manga is about the same but it's just as fun of a read
Bro this guys voice is just so smooth I could listen to him talk about anime forever
Well I could talk about anime all day, so that works xD

This show made me rethink what an ideal girlfriend is.
Wow this is like the first positive review of Rent a Girlfriend I’ve seen. Not bad.
It's popular enough to get a season 3, it was gonna happen eventually
Great video! I dont know how you have only 820 subs! I subbed!
We'll get there, dw

Letters make a pretty big difference lol
I can say, Rent a Girlfriend isn't great. I honestly just find myself reading it to see how hilariously funny it gets by spinning its wheels.
I'm probably an outlier for thinking that the most recent chapters are genuinely enjoyable, but that's just me :>

Still vouching for Ruka
I can't bro. Her character makes a lot of sense, and I can sympathize, but good lord, it drives me up the wall, cause it digs up bad memories xD
