Loved this episode. I understand people not liking it, because they don't like musicals. But the absolute hate towards the writers and the cast is just ridiculous, grow up people.
It's the way how people tell it why they need to grow up. I mean everyone is free to like or not like an episode. But to go start namecalling and threating is a bit too much (and before you ask yes I seen reactions like this on social media and various sites) then your just a child throwing a temper tantrum. Most of the actors in the show have background and trained in musical theatre. The actor who plays Winn (Jeremy jordon) was the lead in newsies on broadway and grant has been tapping since he was nine. Also the actor who plays Mon El (Chris wood) is a fantastic singer as well.
Music Meister, Winn, Joe, Barry and Stein are all Broadway alums. Cisco went to college with Darren Criss (music Meister), who also appeared with both Kara and Barry on Glee. so this is the ultimate musical reunion. I love it!
With how much Stephen Amell has been vocal about not doing a musical, I wish there was a cameo of him saying something along the lines of "I'm not singing."
In an article with Grant Gustin, he said that Candice Patton and most of the crew had never heard the song before the rehearsal, and had never heard Grant sing it, of course. Apparently Candice was in tears by the end of it when he reached the proposal part.
I started following your videos with OUAT reactions and found that you like much every show I do. Buffy, OUAT, Flash, Supergirl. This was my first DC show reaction I've watched. When you said yes after Kara forgives Mon El I freaked because it means you like Karamel. There aren't a lot of people who like the ship. I'm so glad that I subscribed.
I agree that this is one of the best episodes of the season. The musical talent that is locked in that show and in Supergirl is outstanding. Everyone who sang in the show has a background in either Broadway or off-Broadway shows. Jesse L Martin is my favorite singer and I loved his performance with Victor Garber
I was best man at my cousin's wedding, and he sang and played guitar to his bride as part of the wedding, just before the vows. When Barry sang to Iris to propose (again), it reminded me of that.
never thought I'd say this, but WOW! The last 20 min. were super(pun intended) awesome, and the finale brought me to tears. Kara singing 'Moon River" and Barry singing that last awesome song!!! I don't care how, but we need more of tis in the future stories.(and having them break up on Supergirl and reunite on Flash was a great plot-line. DAMN, BARRY REALLY CAN SING)

The whole covering her mouth hand motion thing iris did while barry was singing wasn't to me in shock of what he was doing, it was more out of joy, being in awe of how cute this is and how romantic this is, and also about being happy that he is obviously proposing for the right reason, be cause he loves her and not to change future and save her and without a black and white view of the situation, action and decision, of proposal to her.
If you liked Winn and Cisco singing, look up Jeremy Jordan singing "Broadway Here I Come" and Carlos Valdes singing "Open Your Eyes". You won't regret it.

"Superfriends" was written by Rachel Bloom from "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" and the song at the end, "Running Home to You" was written by the guys who did the music for La La Land. All in all, I loved the episode. Only gripe I have, Kara forgave Mon-El WAY too quickly. They should have let that go for a bit and have him earn her trust back.
I disagree, the CWverse has enough romance drama as it is, so I liked that they resolved it quickly instead of dragging it on. Plus I'm sure they're still gonna have trust issues going forward, but hey, that's just my opinion.
It is no coincidence that the two couples were fighting in that episode. The musical was the excuse to be arranged and to make a musical episode at the same time

Of course we all understand the concept of don't judge book by cover. Even i am guilty of that sometimes. But...the internet there are just people that want to post negatively and/or troll because they are sick and need to get their troll on, or they are truly bitter people in life and cannot stand anything fun/uplifting.
Flash and Supergirl are both pretty silly shows, so nobody should be mad that they did a musical episode. If they had a musical episode of Arrow, that would feel completely out of place, but anyone getting mad about this episode probably takes these shows too seriously.

You might all hate on me, but i don't like the flash musical. I can explain myself. When i first heard about the Flash musical i was SUPER EXCITED. I was like "OMG THIS WILL BE LIKE THE BUFFY MUSICAL! THEY WILL SING ABOUT THINGS THEY COULD'NT SAY! THERES GONNA BE FUNNY SONGS, SAD SONGS, EPIC SONGS WOO HOO!" Heck no. They could make Julian sing about how much he loves Caitlin, Caitlin sing about how she's afraid of becoming killer frost, Iris sing about how she's afraid of dying, Berry sing about how he's afraid that Iris is gonna die, HR sing about how awesome he is... i've got about 20 song ideas, these 5 are the most expected. What did they do instead? "Hey, lets add a lot of random characters and make THEM sing! Lets have songs that are completely unrelated to the plot!" Also come on, they had only 5 songs for 40 damn minutes. In the Buffy musical there was over 10 songs for 40 minutes. Yes, i hate the Flash musical. The songs ain't catchy, only 2 out of 5 make sense for the plot, no random dancing on the background, no epic songs that would make me shudder or tear up. Yep, horrible musical. Or maybe I'm just spoiled by Joss Whedon's musicals. Still remember every single "Buffy the vampire slayer musical" song.
Also the voices felt prerecorded. I know that how musicals work, but how come in the BTVS musical it all felt like if they were actually singing on set?
I really liked this, however, I think I ruined it by hoping for a "Once More With Feeling" level episode. The singing was better in this, I just think the story was weak in comparison because of the whole alternate world setting.
There are now only three people that I will watch Super Girl reaction videos from anymore. You, Shipperfeels and Maria Rodriguez. I am so tired of all the Mon-El hate (which lets be honest is mostly coming from women who want Kara in a same sex relationship and therefore hate Mon-El) Shipperfeels had some really good points to make in her video for this episode at the end about the relationship not being healthy and so from her I don't mind her not liking Mon-El at all. I think that girl has a really good head on her shoulders. Its a shame about the others though, really cause I like the reactions of some of them for other shows. You on the other hand seem to almost always look at the positive (although I still don't know if I can forgive the Kings Landing crack -ROFL). Love your channel man keep being you and keep being awesome!
I was so, so disappointed by this episode. Let me preface my reasoning by telling you that I've actually been looking forward to this musical crossover since it was announced! I enjoy musicals, and I was hoping this would live up to the reputation of the format in other show specials, like Buffy. For me though, Music Meister was criminally misused, and instead of his villainy being the central plot point, it felt like a pre-teen romance novel. I also found the original songs to be the wrong side of cheesy.

Nicky Morris thank you! Not only was he misused and underused, I found him to be terribly underdeveloped (the original Music Meister wasn't much better either but I expected more from a TV show). I have no problem with musicals and I was quite excited after seeing the trailer for this episode but I was so disappointed.
I think part of what bothered me is that the "original songs" created for the show were very underwhelming. They had very little lyrical complexity, and the idea of the characters singing for their freedom fell quite flat. I would have much preferred it end up replicating the formula of The Brave and The Bold, whereby they just happen to be singing the things they say due to his influence. I also didn't really like Music Meister's motivations - it almost made it feel like this was a Valentine's episode.

I really liked this, however, I think I ruined it by hoping for a "Once More With Feeling" level episode.
The singing was better in this, I just think the story was weak in comparison because of the whole alternate world setting.
Personally i'm not a fan of musicals at all, does this episode contribute to the season story in general? Or was it irrelevant to the rest?
It did contribute yes, but it was mostly background work.

There are now only three people that I will watch Super Girl reaction videos from anymore. You, Shipperfeels and Maria Rodriguez. I am so tired of all the Mon-El hate (which lets be honest is mostly coming from women who want Kara in a same sex relationship and therefore hate Mon-El) Shipperfeels had some really good points to make in her video for this episode at the end about the relationship not being healthy and so from her I don't mind her not liking Mon-El at all. I think that girl has a really good head on her shoulders. Its a shame about the others though, really cause I like the reactions of some of them for other shows. You on the other hand seem to almost always look at the positive (although I still don't know if I can forgive the Kings Landing crack -ROFL). Love your channel man keep being you and keep being awesome!

I was so, so disappointed by this episode. Let me preface my reasoning by telling you that I've actually been looking forward to this musical crossover since it was announced! I enjoy musicals, and I was hoping this would live up to the reputation of the format in other show specials, like Buffy. For me though, Music Meister was criminally misused, and instead of his villainy being the central plot point, it felt like a pre-teen romance novel. I also found the original songs to be the wrong side of cheesy.

Nicky Morris thank you! Not only was he misused and underused, I found him to be terribly underdeveloped (the original Music Meister wasn't much better either but I expected more from a TV show). I have no problem with musicals and I was quite excited after seeing the trailer for this episode but I was so disappointed.
I think part of what bothered me is that the "original songs" created for the show were very underwhelming. They had very little lyrical complexity, and the idea of the characters singing for their freedom fell quite flat. I would have much preferred it end up replicating the formula of The Brave and The Bold, whereby they just happen to be singing the things they say due to his influence. I also didn't really like Music Meister's motivations - it almost made it feel like this was a Valentine's episode.
