6X6 RC Hauler Attempts HUGE 60lb Load!

  • What could possibly go wrong? Our RC4WD JDM Zetros gets a quick-fit high-mount hitch. Then, off to the trails with the Cross RC T247 trailer and BC8 Mammoth Flagship loaded up. That's 60lb (or 27kg) - a lot of mass! Never fear, this epic RC truck is clearly designed with heavy hauling in mind.
RC4WD lists this vehicle as the JD Customs Sledge Hammer, but whether it's JDC or JDM, this big rig is the new go-to for heavy scale loads. It has a maximum load limit of 22lb (or 10kg). I thought for sure it'd be able to handle much more than that, so I set about seeing how it went!

Thanks for the tour with your giant trucks. I appreciate you solving the mystery of what that big old tank was. I've been wondering what that thing was.

Astonishing. Simply astonishing. I'm blown away by the detail and functionality of these scale trucks. Every time you showcase one, I'm blown away all over again. Those are neat trucks, and it's a real treat to see them not only running, but working the way they seem like they should. Maybe it's time to bring out more of the construction equipment and play with that on camera again?
Thanks for showing us around the relics in the yard. I assumed that old iron stuff was some kind of a pump station. It looks like the smaller unit is some kind of pressure tank, and the taller one looks like a wellhead (judging by how wide and deep the hole is, and the piping inside it). Based on what you showed us, my guess remains the same. growing up on our farm we had a wellhead that was similar to this, just lower to the ground, and of course inside a pumphouse.

My crawling course is actually built on what used to be a little lagoon for many years. It was the water source for the hot water system, which is why the underground header pipe from the pump goes toward my rocks. I reckon you might be spot-on with the rest of it; she's an old assembly but this house is even older. It's been renovated a few times over the years and was built around the turn of the 19th & 20th century, originally.
The trucks are cool, eh :) The big excavator hasn't had its time on camera yet, but I'll get to it! Got a lot of scale goodness coming up first, and my Road to Nationals series. But yes, I'll get the big digger in there somewhere too!

I do like watching these, I need to figure how to build some sort of strong machine myself, it's going to be a snow plough, needs to have lots of torque but also be fast enough. First version will be 2 Tamiya GF01 chassis with Hobbywing Fusion, probably going to be small and toy-like, but at least it got me started, ha ha!
Interesting intro with the tank, I enjoyed that a lot!

Sounds interesting. Building heavy stuff is fun. I have been thinking about a new multi axle rig for a bit recently too. Not a kit, another diy build like I haven't done in a while. Hmm. I like your idea!

Geez yeah they're not cheap, that's for sure. I saved for that BC8 for years and it has had a lot of use. Been interstate with me to several events, has driven in flood, torrential rain, epic mud, crazy rock, towed or carried multiple rigs on long runs, the list goes on. The BC8 is an experience alright.
