A big reason why revolver rifles never caught on is something called "Cylinder Gap". That's the tiny gap between the end of the cylinder and the beginning of the barrel. Hot gasses escape from that gap when the rifle fires, causing quite a bit of discomfort, or worse, for the arm holding the foregrip. Calibers like .308 and .30-06 wouldn't work out that well for a cylinder because the round won't headspace quite right. The bottleneck case would slip out of the cylinder somewhat and the gasses could blow past the cartridge and accuracy will suffer from having to jump the gap in the cylinder. .38 Spc, .357 mag, .44 mag and .45-70 are good options because they have straight wall cases. All in all, well done on the mod. Keep on crafting!
the rounds for this rifle could be Nagant Revolver style long casing covers the bullet type deal. that said, thank you for the information that would add to the immersion! :D
Why not just make a revolver rifle like the Nagant revolver where the cylinder seals into the barrel? That's perfectly possible especially with today's tech being much better, plus it's be cool as BALLS
@@MidanMagistrate probably because there is a niche of people in the market that wants a Revolver rifle. also, I think that the most practical Revolver rifle would be taking the Nagant mechanism and long casing rounds for both practicality and user friendliness.
This is one of your old mods I genuinely like. Long rifle with the reliability and adaptability of changing/adapting munition, you could just do a google search and find modern revolver rifles.
I'm not sure if this was done for balancing and this probably come off as a nitpick, Pieper is also unique for its ammo capacity of 9 rounds instead of the usual 6, but overall, it's nice to see a gun that appeared in Battlefield 1 in Fallout 4.
One of the first weapons i added to my list from your weapon works. And its just great like all your weapons I hope to see you working on new weapons again in the near future. ❤
I love this gun and am surprised you hadn't covered it already. As of typing this my main gun in my current playthrough it's a two shot legendary version of this with the duplex rounds. For 4 bullets per trigger pull lmfao! It's so very much fun and is a beast of a gun.
Yeah, that was one thing that was on the more historically accurate side that I liked about RDR2. Another fun thing is just how real duplex cartridges are. Not really any evidence of them in the 19th century (well, at least not two bullets in the same cartridge casing). Though there was something back then called a duplex load, which was a mix of both black powder and smokeless powder without any layering, which was a method of getting a little more power out of black powder firearms capable of using cartridges. I'd love to see an Old West/Late West game come out that has Fallout levels of intricacy to the firearm design where you can tweak stuff like that. Just seems like it would be interesting to absolute nerds like myself, lol.
I've always wanted a revolver rifle in Fallout, I even tried making them with the pipe revolver, but it was always misshapen and ugly in vanilla, so this amazing. Thank you!
I don’t know much about sound mods, but you should compile the best sound mods and combine for your own mod to complement your weapon mods. Since your mods use a lot of vanilla sounds, a vanilla sound overhaul from you would be awesome!
@@OleDirtyMacSanchez a AR15 of any sort, even "Fallout-ified" to have wood furniture one would also fit in the game and be a good Rifle option so the Fallout 4 Assault Machine gun is actually the American LMG instead of the assault rifle. AR-15 for civilian market aside, what would be a good signature East cost rifle? Stoner 63 family would work for general military, maybe a FNFAL? or something else?
@@drivanradosivic1357 AR-15 of any kind would work out for you as realistically they be Everywhere. Though Lever Actions, Pump Actions, and even AK types come in at a 2nd. You should make a weapon pack that combines all your weapon mods into one mod so it's easier to find and download all the weapons. There are a lot of them lol.
@@kennyroberson5726 Yeah i guess, I just got finished sniping Corvega with the gun, completed the mission there and logged out to look at videos. this was right on top of recommended.
Character holding the gun like a hobbit in 3rd person, gripping the frame (almost the cylinder) instead of the handguard, looks kind of derpy. Deadpool's Hunting Shotgun had a siimilar problem. I guess there aren't many animations to work around that, huh? The model and 1st-person anims look great, though.
I would definitely use this revolver rifle it fits the old school style that I enjoy specially in the classic cowboy guns made by Belgian by the Mexican police I definitely have to look for this gun
there was a mod that obviously made it because of Fallout 3, but they expanded on it by making Gauss Modifications, so the BB gun can be a early game Gauss gun with it before you find an actual Gauss Rifle.
Any way of porting the revolver rifle with the animations in the video to Xbox? The one there uses vanilla pipe revolver rifle animations same with the MTS-255
Hey Dak, this is an awesome weapon! But I've been wondering if you would be willing to create the plasma carbine from Outer Worlds? I've been trying to find one on Xbox but apparently no one has thought to mod one. Either that or one just hasn't been ported to Xbox. Personally, I just feel that the base plasma rifle doesn't have the right look and feel for the Fallout universe with it being so bulky in the body, yet thin and narrow on the barrel. Feels like it would be better at home in a futuristic space game. I would make this request on Nexus but I don't have a computer and I figured the next best way is to try to reach out via the comments on a video.
Dak, I love your stuff but..... worst place to put your hand is in front of the chamber on a revolver. Your hands are gonna get a bit... hurt. :-D Those sounds though... mhmmm... chonky!

Fallout 4 needs more old scrappy junk wasteland rifles
Fallout 4 needs more weapons, period
@@drivanradosivic1357 agreed. You should nag Dak for an M1 Carbine mod for the, uhh... community. Yes. The community desperately needs it.
*With good animations

Would love to see an M16A2 made by him.
Mts-255, Remington New Army Carabine, and this. It may be over-complicated, wacky gun mechanisms but it pays for its aesthetics
The Rule of Cool will always overrule practicality. I don't care if it's goofy, I want the revolver rifle!
You also have the M2045 Magnum Revolver Rifle for a really futuristic interpretation of the concept.
the good thing is, the Rule of Cool for those guns does not override it's level of practical immersion.
This is one of your old mods I genuinely like. Long rifle with the reliability and adaptability of changing/adapting munition, you could just do a google search and find modern revolver rifles.
This mod is one of my favorite. The animations are amazing, the concept is refreshing and its looks are impeccable
9:09 To quote the Fat Electrician, "Every enemy is now worth double XP"
If you could add lights to this, make it .223 and make it beep then you'd have the rifle that became that gun.
It really doesn't share any visual similarities, id rather just make that rifle
That Rifle (Not to be confused with This [That] Machine)
Dak forgot
Dak forgor
Dak forget
But does Dak forgive?
I lost The Game 😢
Never leave home without it now and now that my load order is encased in amber due to the last update it will always be part of my Fallout 4
The Unique is really cute, it made me smile! :)

Thanks it was my idea

Mag Fed Lever Action Rifle would fit in the Fallout Sandbox and Fallout Universe.
definitely, more lever actions as a option for the Fallout arsenal is needed. Pump action as well.
