Into battle gives me strong Wintersun-vibes

Jari-era Ensiferum is great stuff. I think Petri came in and has done a great job, too. They've done admirably after losing such a great singer, songwriter, and guitarist. Their albums after "From Afar" have, to me, been a little uneven on the songwriting front, but they always feature some great stuff.
This era will always hold a special place in my heart but I think the era of Petri is amazing. He killed it in Norther and then the newer ensiferum stuff especially the new album. Holy crap.

Oh yes, i personally like the post Jari era Ensiferum more, but this is a band that doesn't have a single bad song. Btw they were singing in finnish. And Lai Lai Hei, doesn't really mean anything. If you want some more old Ensiferum, you should try Into Battle.
JLTS76 Into Battle is just pure viking/death, my favorite song from them :D
Lai lai is a scat, meaning 'feeling like singing', a bit like sha-la-la. It could be also la or laa. And yet some other syllables are found in that scat.
hei means, 'hey, hi & by (hei hei, mostly)'.
Maybe li-li, hey! would be good English description here.
Victory Song is a must do if you want to experience the best of post-Jari Ensiferum
An awesome song...love this album. You know the one constant in Ensiferum, from the beginning until now, is the one and only Markus Toivonen. A great guitarist in his own right, he's also written/co-written a shit ton of their music, so he deserves a lot of credit for making Ensiferum what it is! Into Battle is a great song on this album as well. Also, check out Deathbringer from the Sky...it's my ring tone :). Tummun Virran Taa/The Longest Journey from the Afar CD is awesome too. LOTS of good stuff from these guys, both with & without Jari.

Ensiferum was the band that got me into folk/viking/pagan metal as a whole. The first song i ever heard from them, which is still my favorite song of theirs to this very day is called "Token Of Time". It's from the Jari era (their very first album, in fact). Hope you get the chance to check it out eventually!

The funny thing about Ensiferum is that their most Wintersun-esque song was released right _after_ Jari quit the band. The song "Victory Song" would feel as much at home on the first Wintersun album as it feels on an Ensiferum record. ;D

Really loved the reaction on this video. Song is excellent and I agree with you that it reminds the first wintersun album. You really need to check the Ensiferum - Treacherous Gods... that actually reminds me Time -album era. There is growling and clean vocals.. definitely thimbs up \m/

Yeah! Truly you gotta do Into Battle, Token of Time and then one of my favorites from the same Iron album called Sword Chant. As you might have noticed already the language sang first on Lai Lai Hei is Finnish.
Would be nice to see Long Song Sundays! Epica, Nightwish, Xandria and other ones with long songs since you have more time there. Or then Finnish Sundays because you have just scratched the surface. ;)
That is our plan for Sundays...long songs. Is when we have the most time. We will throw some Ensiferum here and there but most likely we will do 10+m songs on Sunday
My favorite from Ensiferum! Another great song is Token of Time from their first album (a song written by Jari Mäenpää). And yeah have a great New Year's eve guys! :)

Jari also played for Arthemesia and Immemorial while playing for Ensiferum in the late 90s(Dragonheads demo era).
Fact:
Goblin's Dance from their debut self-titled album was written by Jari and Arthemesia vocalist Valtias Mustatuuli. You guys have to check it out. IMO, Ensiferum's best song after Victory Song( from their third album, well... Victory Songs)

Did you saw the Wintersun's facebook page?? They will trie to do a North America tour the next year (which start in hours in this part of the world xD), and a South America tour too if they can (i hope they can).

I would love to see them come to Toronto sometime in 2018, I just hope it is an All Ages venue or my kid will be heartbroken. Perhaps a headlining tour with BRHG would be amazing but I would take any sort of tour as long as I get to see them in 2018.

Oh, it's definitely good. Rotting Christ are a well respected Greek Melodic Black Metal band, been around since the early 90s. Definitely not anything crazy like Belphegor. Much more melodic.

Guys, if you do more Ensiferum in the future, you have to do the song Pohjola. Possibly the manliest song in existence. Also fun fact: the singer of Ensiferum used to sing in Norther as well, in the older albums.

I'm aware this is an old video, but if you guys aren't aware of Æther Realm they're the closest band to Wintersun I've ever found. My favourite by them is "The Sun, The Moon, The Stars" but it's 20 minutes long so it may not be ideal for a reaction video. If you want to react to something of theirs, go with "Death", "The Devil" or "The Chariot". I'm sure you'll enjoy them since you like Wintersun ^^

A&P-REACTS Their new album is great! The problem is, people compare it to the jari-era, and then everyone jumps on the hate train. It's not unusual for bands to evolve, especially if they change vocalist. Pretty sad that people hate on that if you ask me. :/

This song always brings a smile on my face. It's not that special in comparison to the other epic Ensiferum and Wintersun songs but nevertheless a great example of the our finest folk metal. The Finnish-sung parts are especially uplifting.
