I was nervous before this came out because she had a party the night before (she posted it on Twitter, I think it was a birthday). She didn't have as much rest as would have been optimal for such a big stage moment like this. I think if she rested well the night before, she would've had stronger vocals here. But for this performance, it was the songs and her name that carried it through.
Funny how people here reacted about the voice cracks. Mariah does it intentionally, its a style. If you would notice most of her songs has voice cracking in it especially in super high notes. I repeat VOICE CRACKING IS A STYLE. There's a big difference between intentional voice cracking and a damaged throat.

However, her voice is not the instrument that it was. Her whistle is nowhere near as strong as say Chante Moore or Rachelle Ferrell and her overall belt is not as potent as it was. She has always been a singer that stands on stage but this is one of those occasions to where it doesn't work for her. She truly is a great singer but....not this time. I still love and support her and will buy her CDs when they come out but let's not kid ourselves into thinking that she was as great as she used to be.
