My comment comes late: but Mariah’s voice is due to nodules in her throat. She admitted when she was alittle girl. She use to speak high pitch voice, because she had problems making the normal sounds that most children make when speaking.👈🏻It’s a medical condition. Just google it if u can.

The confidence in her back then was unparalleled. She totally owned that stage and slayed every single note. This woman is a legend and an icon, and like this and other performances at Madison Square Garden will go down in history as one of her most iconic, against Hero. I just wish she get this kind of extraordinary confidence back and start wearing more casual clothes, rather than trying to impress her image wearing dresses and lingerie etc all the time, we all know as fans she looks amazing for her age at 46 but jeee would I love to see her wearing tank tops and long trousers or jeans again and just have fun, she doesn't have to go all full dance mode or anything, however moving around the stage like this didn't effect her voice, she needs to stop thinking about it and let lose baby!

Today most singers rely on playback for maybe 70-80% of the whole song while they just dance. She was just really talented. Other singers aren't consistent and what you hear on the record is the product of cutting and pasting dozens of takes together along with pitch correction.
