bands can't always be serious, it gets dull. I have depression and i write about it in some songs, although i'm sad my band is the silliest guys you'll meet. It's cool to be funny at times
btw, anyone who likes this should check out twelve hour turn, managra, saetia, hero of 100 fights, inkwell (the band that broke up in, like '95, not 'these stars are monsters'.. search for 'shine so bright'), engine down, [early] boy sets fire ('the day the sun went out'), tintoretto, cap'n jazz.. u'll find much more thru that.
@V3XC3 me to. this song is actually from a letter from the cival war between a women and to her husband that I Hate Myself found and made into this song. How he conveys so much emotion in it just leaves me speechless
Best. Song. Ever. I am kind of confused, however, about what comes after "I hope you're warm, and I hope you think of me" but BEFORE "and the way things used to be."
its st. peterburg, a city in virginia. This song is about a spouse writing to her husband who died during the civil war, during the battle of st. peterburg. "a telegram said that you had died"
No, people believed they were due to them hardly naming their songs and naming their works after the number of tracks For instance, this song was on the album "Ten Songs" which actually had....eleven tracks. So yeah, they are real.
@C0rporeal Yeah it is actually. I Hate Myself found a old letter from the cival war or something like that from a wife of a man in the war. she wrote it to her husband and many years later I Hate Myself found it and turned it into this beautiful masterpeice
What bass is that in his hands around 0:54? I know that it is a Fender but it has a tortoise shell 4 ply scratch guard on it. I cannot find this bass anywhere online. Any help?
i forget where i read it (i think it was a random friend on fb).. but it said "i miss the days where you could type in "emo" in a search engine and NOTHING would pop up"... no sh*t. and somehow emo went from a type of music (dead in the mid-late 90's btw) to basically replacing the description of a 'goth kid.' *smh*
@BlackToiletWater1 He wants to get out of the situation but he fears if he runs away and tries to get help his father will catch him in the act and beat him worse than ever.
Well, I don't think so, that'd be really silly and pointless. I think they wrote their lyrics based in, if not in themselves, at least in other persons life experiences. I hope I was clear. I'm not a native speaker.
@youarewrong321 I figured that out eventually. Guess I'll just be a cheap ass and grab an American Standard. I blew enough on a 4003 anywho and then an Orange terror cab for my trace elliot 2x10. Not a waste of money but fuck gear gets expensive.
@SebbeSucksBawlz They are a good band and they did not copy anyone. You are wrong, they were mocking Emotive Hardcore in a lot of their songs, you would know that if you followed the band.
@TheOpensourceFTW heh me too :( me and my band are forming right now were gonna bring back the old days after were done with my room at my grandmas house i grew up in lots of memory's ^-^ hail emotive/screamo and hate the poser one nowadays
@BlackToiletWater1 If you knew the first thing about music you'd know it's about expression. Depression and suicidal thoughts aren't always just a simple, plain old case of "alrighty, I'm off to kill myself now - see ya!", and music which actually helps you express your thoughts and connect with others in a similar situation can be a great comfort. Why are you wasting your time on such bands anyway? Go listen to or make some music about being happy then and enjoy the feeling.
first time i heard this song.....no joke i cried a little bit....i love when music speaks to me that way
I heard this was an emo parody band but man even if they are, they turned into an emo classic.
Shatter Society emocore
Not any more of a parody than anyone that writes songs in character.
I always felt they used the parody thing as a defense mechanism
there like sunny day real estate with screaming, Awesome!!!!!
i tried to laugh but i went back to my room and cried, i mean our room, i went back to our room and cried..
This was awesome. It's really a shivers-down-my-spine kind of song.
This song... my days awesome

This song is so good, this band really make me feel their emotions.
btw, anyone who likes this should check out twelve hour turn, managra, saetia, hero of 100 fights, inkwell (the band that broke up in, like '95, not 'these stars are monsters'.. search for 'shine so bright'), engine down, [early] boy sets fire ('the day the sun went out'), tintoretto, cap'n jazz.. u'll find much more thru that.
I am so glad I stumbled across this absolute gem
no one but I Hate Myself could take a letter from the civil war and turn it into this. love love love
@V3XC3 me to. this song is actually from a letter from the cival war between a women and to her husband that I Hate Myself found and made into this song. How he conveys so much emotion in it just leaves me speechless
My favorite song by them.
Best. Song. Ever.
I am kind of confused, however, about what comes after "I hope you're warm, and I hope you think of me" but BEFORE "and the way things used to be."

this band deserves to be heard by more guys
@Froggiefied if this band started as a joke for real, they screwed up really bad, because their songs are fuckin beautiful.
*insert comment about my inner-feelings such as depression and my past life and how I find these guys serious*

What bass is that in his hands around 0:54? I know that it is a Fender but it has a tortoise shell 4 ply scratch guard on it. I cannot find this bass anywhere online. Any help?
Hey if you guys like this band, please check out the Utah emo/skramz band Knowing Well Never Grow Up. Sooo good.
@itsokaytobeafraid Its okay to be afraid.
i forget where i read it (i think it was a random friend on fb).. but it said "i miss the days where you could type in "emo" in a search engine and NOTHING would pop up"... no sh*t. and somehow emo went from a type of music (dead in the mid-late 90's btw) to basically replacing the description of a 'goth kid.' *smh*
I love you :3
People say this, but I don't believe it. I don't think they went further than just poking fun at themselves.
@ianmeister9 I can totally understand how you feel.
@gothic090221 you sir, are a badass.
@TheErnestocore Its called Emotive hardcore actually. nothing like pop.
@BlackToiletWater1 He wants to get out of the situation but he fears if he runs away and tries to get help his father will catch him in the act and beat him worse than ever.
tis emopop very good
man this song is depressing .... i liek it
@SkyyVodkaa well they did a pretty good job at copying them, not so much taking the piss out of them.
Emo Gang 2020!
Well, I don't think so, that'd be really silly and pointless. I think they wrote their lyrics based in, if not in themselves, at least in other persons life experiences.
I hope I was clear. I'm not a native speaker.
epic.
holy shiit this is fukcin great music
@Femicide09
i love people, who dont understand anything :)
What do you mean?
@goldstein670 They realised they had talent so they made some good songs.
@youarewrong321 I figured that out eventually. Guess I'll just be a cheap ass and grab an American Standard. I blew enough on a 4003 anywho and then an Orange terror cab for my trace elliot 2x10. Not a waste of money but fuck gear gets expensive.

Me too bro… me too
Did you guys know that this band is joking around and not serious about their lyrics?
I HATE MYSELF
LOL:D
I don't think you guys realise I Hate Myself were basicly taking the piss out of "Emotive Hardcore" bands.
@BlackToiletWater1 If you knew the first thing about music you'd know it's about expression.
