Vauxhall Cresta PA 2.6 hot weather running and starting problem 'hopefully' fixed ?

  • As title never really run correctly when weather gets warm, yet to try in really hot weather but so far very encouraging results
    Update: having run over the summer in some hot temps it has worked a treat so pleased at last to have resolved problem

    Thanks for sharing your solution.
    I'm absolutely no expert, but I noticed the inlet manifold getting quite hot on my PC. I made a spacer from a 10mm sheet of teflon/PTFE (bought cheap from eBay) to go between the carb and manifold. Seems to help

    Does it still have the engine-driven cooling fan? Some folk remove them and fit an electric one which doesn’t run all the time, without realising that the original fans shifted air around the whole engine bay constantly. This is important in these times where petrol boils easily.

      Sorry for delay just seen this, still running original fan and did use car a lot last summer in hot weather and pleased to say had no issues what so ever, i was always wary of using when very hot before hand
