This is one of the most important mechanics to understand regarding managing the board.
Probably my favorite game to solo that I've never won. :-)

26:25 You are not obliged to face the adventure you draw. If there was treasure on top the adventure deck, it may be worth to face an adventure you don't benefit or that is hard in order to obtain the tresure, but in your case there was no need to do it and eventually fail since your notoriety was already at 0

Thanks for the playthrough. Great solo game although it appears that I have played several rules incorrectly 😂 as well as scoring liberation and tonnage wrong. Had fun though. Thanks again for the playthrough.
@36:15 you can decide which hidden token to replace *after* you draw and look at the ship that is replacing it. It is an often missed rule that makes a big difference. So, for example, @38:45, you could have placed the other white ship with the first one in the European Seas, setting up a “killing ocean’ for later.

You forgot to pay for the Nautilus' upgrade card You choosed at the beginning of the game :) But of course great gameplay as always :)
45:50 you only place ships for white dice on lull turns, you also forgot to place a treasure gemstone on the doubles ocean and adventure deck. As someone pointed out in the comments make sure to draw the ship first then decide where it goes. At around 47:00 you should have a -1 modifier on your refit action because of the warship which actually means you wouldn’t have been able to upgrade. LOVE seeing nemos war content, hope to see more.

I play solo games on a 34" card table. Wondering if your layout shown in video will fit. Actual playing area size would help. Thanks in advance for your help.
@10:40, ship points are never negative, so the Frigate would still be worth 0, not -1.

This video was very helpful, and clarified some of the rules I'd misunderstood. A couple of points, though.
At 39:27, doesn't that treasure gain you two notoriety instead of losing two? It doesn't have a minus on it. It seems like a terrible reward (as does the one with three skull-and-crossbones symbols), but I don't see how else to read it.
At 54:00 and elsewhere, by my reading of the card, the Hydro Drive lets you move up to two oceans per move action. It doesn't say this is in addition to the one you normally get. The Move heading on page 19 of the rulebook also says that with the upgrade you can move up to two oceans per Move Action. So I think it's 1-2 oceans total, not 1-3 as you were playing it.
