புதிய மற்றும் புதுப்பிக்கத்தக்க எரிசக்தி அமைச்சகம் (MNRE) நாட்டில் சோலார் பம்புகள் மற்றும் கிரிட் இணைக்கப்பட்ட சோலார் மற்றும் பிற புதுப்பிக்கத்தக்க மின் உற்பத்தி நிலையங்களை நிறுவுவதற்காக விவசாயிகளுக்காக (PM KUSUM - Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha Evem Utthan Mahabhiyan) என்ற திட்டத்தை அறிமுகப்படுத்தியுள்ளது.
இத்திட்டம் 2022க்குள் சூரிய ஒளி மற்றும் பிற புதுப்பிக்கத்தக்க ஆற்றலின் திறனை மேலும் 25,750 மெகாவாட்களை சேர்க்க உள்ளது. இத்திட்டத்தை செயல்படுத்துவதற்காகவும் செயல்படுத்தும் நிறுவனங்களுக்கு சேவைக் கட்டணங்கள் உட்பட ரூ. 34,422 கோடியை மத்திய அமைச்சகம் ஒதுக்கியுள்ளது. இத்திட்டமானது 31.03.2026 வரை நீட்டிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
