Hi Megan, I just wanted to take a moment to say your channel is so interesting. I am not a religious person, I subscribe to no faith, but I believe in respect and love. You seem so respectful and loving, I really commend the way you thoughtfully answer questions and assumptions. It's so lovely. Keep up your lovely work and be safe. Love to you and your fam from Ireland x
I wanted to say the same, Megan. I struggle the same as you with being surround by a lot of similar folk to myself (I met everyone through work after moving to a new city) and it’s hard to breakout and meet new people. I love your videos for giving a look into a different lifestyle. I wish you were in my mom’s group. :)

I LOVE learning more about Mennonite culture; I've actually been looking for a church near my home or within reasonable driving distance to attend for services. I’m a Mennonite from VA, and I love that you are answering some of those assumptions that people have and always nice to correct the assumptions that aren’t right :) speaking of our husbands careers, my hubby is actually an attorney, there’s very very few Mennonite attorneys out there but I’m so proud of him and he has helped so many people that don’t know where to turn.

There are Mennonites in my area and they're always so nice. I was at a used book sale and a Mennonite woman and I struck up a pleasant conversation about books. It was nice. I think it's easy to think of certain people as separate from you and something to avoid but really we're all just people living our lives.
Naps make me feel awful, too! And everyone thinks that I'm crazy when I say that! haha. Also, would you consider making a playlist of contemporary hymns? I love them and find them difficult to find! Also, I want to commend you on being so thoughtful to different body sizes despite the fact that you are naturally thin. Sometimes naturally skinny people don't see that larger bodied people can also be healthy! So good for you, Megan.
You have a healthy, well-rounded thought process, and I appreciate that. I don't have a bestie, either, a "bosom friend" as Anne Shirley would say. It would be super fun to be your friend, and I hope you find that sister-like bestie.
I don’t know who you are but I can’t wait to figure it out! I love these new TH-cam channels that I’ve discovered over quarantine. I can’t wait to binge watch your videos and learn more.
I’m really glad I started following you. Being a non-denominational Christian that was raised Southern Baptist, I was always surrounded by judgmental people that kind of thought “my way or the highway” and i’ve always had a natural curiosity for other religions and denominations. I love learning about your culture. My grandparents recently moved to a new location and Tennessee and I think it’s funny because they say there are a lot of “Amish” people but i’m pretty sure they’re Mennonites lol
The Mennonites in my area (Southside Virginia) are really friendly and kind. But I understand why it may be hard to relate across the cultural barriers that are often in our minds. I so admire you, Megan, as a Christian and as a person. I admire your openness, willingness to share about yourself, and your love for others.
Im mormon and we have similar lifestyle standards. Its so refreshing to see other women who are like that. Sometimes i am out in the world and feel so alone with the way women of the world are today. Thank you sister! I love learning of your mennonite faith. 🌷🌞🙏
Megan how about tutoring? You could set your own hours and what an influence you could have one on one with a handful of young people! I loved unity vs uniformity. Definitely something to think about. I think people, myself included, see Mennonite women as quiet and demure because of God’s peace and grace within most of you. No matter if you are generally outgoing or are just being silly in the moment that quiet spirit always shines thru.
Thank you for sharing a small part of your life, you have such great energy and an interesting channel. My mother was raised in a Mennonite community in Chihuahua, Mexico. Her parents emigrated from Russia during the Revolution, America closed its borders while they were at sea, and the boat docked in Mexico. They then became M.M.’s, Mexican Mennonites, and that is the only type of Mennonite I know, so I was happy to see your channel. Thanks again for the great video!
Megan! Thanks for being so sincere! It’s refreshing to be able to watch/listen to as you went from assumption to assumption, answering with grace & genuineness. In a world full of fake it’s encouraging to see REAL! AND I love the lack of focus on POLITICS or the current CRAZY we’re all facing. It’s kinda been an escape just to listen. Thanks 😊
I really like your bubbly and likeable personality. It is good to see this in our crazy world today. Continue being yourself, for sure. I like your content and your casual chit-chat videos. Peace be with you.
We have a Mennonite community in our tiny town so I see them a lot, your channel definitely helped me Better understand them and made me not so quick to judge them! Thank you!
When kids are in public and they've been taught to be quiet and polite and such, yeah, they will people-watch, or stare. Don't take it personally :) You're just being interesting and they want to observe. Next time a kid is staring at you and it bothers you, smile and wave at them.
I've been randomly approached by young children (preschool and elementary age) in public because I wear long dresses or skirts. It isn't a religious statement, I have no waist and knobby legs, LOL! But it fascinates them.
Megan.I absolutely love this Q&A .I am learning so much about you and mennonites.I realize not all mennonites are the same as you have said.I didnt find my best friend till I was 34 years old.I met her at church.I actually prayed God would send me a Godly friend and he did.
I so get you! When my firstborn was born, they first thing I told my mom was that I could not wait to be a grandmother. When my son and daughter-in- law had their first child, I was asked to leave my job and move in and take care of the baby while they were working and attending university. Best thing ever! Being grandma is the best!
I watched this while going through my morning routine and having breakfast before the kids wake up. It felt like sitting with a friend for a chat. 🙂 We are Presbyterian. I enjoy hearing about the similarities and differences in other religions. I for sure thought Mennonites didn’t drink alcohol at all. It’s great to be reminded that even though we live out our faith in different ways, we are sisters in Christ. 🙂
Thank you for making these videos. I’m a Catholic but I love watching these kinds of videos and watching other people talk about their life and faith paths. You gained a subscriber! :)
I just finished your video and the end really choked me up. You are such a beautiful person and a Godly woman that we should look to for inspiration on how to put God first. Thank you for sharing this!!! You are awesome!
I just love listening to you. I’m a conservative Christian, and I just love how you emphasize the Bible as the only reference we need for deciding how to honor God. Also, that the individual rules and guidelines individuals or families or churches follow on certain issues that are not completely black and white in the Bible need to be made according to our own hearts and consciences and what the Holy Spirit lays on our hearts. I struggled with not being able to separate human rules (maybe not even bad rules, just not really biblical mandates) from God’s actual black and white commands and I found great freedom when I learned to distinguish between the two. Not that I went off the deep end and just decided “anything goes” but I did learn that non-sin issues are often a matter of conscience or just personal choice, and it is our job to please God, not man. It released me from a good deal of guilt, anxiety, and also judgmental and self-righteousness attitudes. Galatians 1:10. Love your positivity and light.
I have to say, I'm not religious at all (I was raised Catholic and it really pushed me away from religion and the idea of God), but I really enjoy your channel. I had a very stereotypical view of Mennonites and I think it's great that you're breaking through that barrier and showing what a "real" Mennonite is like. I think it's easy for people to say that you're weird, or lump you in with the Amish, and I'm thankful that you're showing people that this isn't the case. While I don't agree with many of the things you said and believe, I do think you have a great approach to being non-judgmental and understanding that people choose to live different lives and that's okay.
I can completely relate on the friendships. I consider my husband my best friend too, but i do wish i had a best female friend to chat with and hang out with. There's just something different about female friendships vs husband relationship.
You’re very inspiring! I come from a Mennonite town here in Canada. Until I married a Baptist, I truly understood the dress code and how you want to be modest and glorify God in everything you do and wear. Love your videos! 🧡
I wish more people in the world could be like you. I love how you unabashedly are who you are with your religion and dress yet open yourself to other ways of doing things. Huge Families: At least for my grandfather (Mennonite from southern Ontario), they had big families because they farmed by hand and needed the labor.
I appreciate that you take time to answer questions and that you give honest answers based on your experiences. You also seem very respectful of others who may not share your views. I am a Christian who grew up going to Catholic Church and have attended a non-denominational church with a pastor from a Baptist background most of my adult life. I am part of a homeschool group with Nazarenes, Lutherans, Apostolics, and non-believers. We had a few Muslim families in our group at different times as well. I think it is great to have a diverse group of friends and associates so that you can learn to enjoy the company of others who may not share your background or beliefs. Obviously like you said it is much easier to just stay within a group of those most like you but I have found I have grown more as a person and it has deepened my faith in God to branch out. You seem like a beautiful person inside and out and it’s great to know God is blessing your family through money made via TH-cam and that you have a platform to share your positive views on family, homemaking, and God.
Hi Megan. I just wanted to thank you for your awesome presence! Listening to you helps give me the confidence I have been needing to move into a full-time spiritual direction practice. I am trained and certified, but have been feeling a lack of courage that I have something relevant to offer. Your courage, grace, and confidence is infectious and touches me deeply, helping me to let my own God-given spirit shine. And what a wonderful and inspiring community of care you've built here by offering these videos. Sending many blessings and good wishes your way.
We have totally different lifestyles so I find your videos really intriguing and informative! I really appreciate your content for opening my mind to new perspectives - you’re so cool!!
❤️❤️❤️Hi Megan!❤️❤️❤️ YOU ARE AMAZING! If more people were like you and try to UNITE religions and people instead on focusing on what separates each other the world would be a better place to live in! Thank you to make this planet 🌎 a better place to live in through who you are and the values you promote!! PS I am of another faith: I am Jewish and we , like you believe that the bible is as relevant today as it was almost 6000 years ago, that there is such a thing as the role or a man and the role of a wife in a marriage, that modesty is great 👍 and that we should teach our children , leading by example, that the love for G.od is a central part of their and our life!!
Christians are COMMANDED to judge. We are called to lead others away from sin and error. But, we are also commanded to not be a hypocrite while judging. Thank you Megan, I so wish people of different faiths could do just this, have a conversation with no judgement. As long as a person believes in Jesus Christ has accepted him as their savior and he is lord of our life, that is what is important. We will all be in heaven together. It won't be divided by church denomination.
My two year old picks out what color hair I pick next. I also have tons of tattoos and blue hair. He thinks it’s art.. to each their own. I really love and appreciate your channel. Thank you 🙏
I'm laughing about your comment on always cooking full 4 course meals🤣. I am also a mennonite and a firm believer in leftovers! I intentionally make enough food when I cook supper to have enough for lunch. And all-in-one meals are my go-to meals (like taco salad).
I think this video dispels many assumptions I've had about Christian conservatives in general. I love that she had the courage to really "go there" in terms of addressing some sensitive topics and this video really made me love this channel even more.
Hello, Megan! I love and appreciate your honesty in this video! Don’t ever doubt your convictions. From someone who did not find the Lord until late twenties, now in my forties, trust me when I say that it’s almost impossible to drink a full alcoholic beverage and not get a buzz. Therefore, I whole heartedly stand by no alcohol. If people are honest, it all taste bad. 😉
Everything in moderation and being drunk is sinful - however coffee can give us quite a 'buzz' too! Jesus turned water into wine and didn't condemn drinking of alcohol at all. I can honestly tell you that my occsional glass of wine or a cocktail tastes very nice! But I don't like Whisky either - despite being Scottish.
@@missyc9385 really? Tell that to all the people, like me, who can't have coffe in the evening as then they can't get to sleep! A B12 shot won't to that and one glass of wine won't alter your state of mind or cognitive function. I have friends who choose to have no alcohol for various reasons but there's no reason to rule it out for everyone.
I'm still chuckling to myself about your "80s" music comment! At 43 I feel old compared to you!😉 and as a mennonite I am SO thankful to hear you explain how you feel on some of these subjects! You do very well in what Christ has called ALL Christians to be. A true disciple of Him! The greatest comandment is to "Love as I have loved you..." with out Love for one another we have nothing. God Bless you SO much!! Keep being your chipper self. And even if you have "non-chipper" days, Keep looking to Christ!💖💖
I am so happy that you have posted a video. Its good timing for me cause I need a positive injection of your happy vibe in general and I can hear assumptions about your life. Thanks Megan for your positive vibe and amazing family stories.
I love your honesty as well as your openness. I love to hear the difference from the different cultures. Your videos are something I always look forward too.
The community that you all have is one of the things that I wish we had. My family is very small and scattered and even our church family isn't as close and open as it could be.
It's important to let your kids make some of there own choices so when they reach adulthood they feel like they don't feel deprived I sort of grow up like that I felt like a outside in certain situations and I dld feel deprived at time
I absolutely love what you said about unity vs uniformity in regards to dress etc. This comes up in Judaism also. It fascinates me in general from a sociology perspective because I wasn't raised Jewish. I love that you are so proud of who you are! ETA okay so I never noticed that you don't wear jewelry! Thats so interesting! This is great video. I'm getting so much great insight into your culture! I discovered you through your first assumptions video lol
Yes- I thought that comment "unity vs uniformity" was very interesting also. I would like to know more about that and how you would tease that out in real life.
I’m not religious but I absolutely LOVE hearing about other people’s religions, beliefs, morals, values, etc. I think it’s very interesting and very eye opening to hear stories from people who live different lifestyles than what I’m used to. I grew up in a VERY baptist Christian house and they were very strict about what I was exposed to in terms of beliefs and things like that. I’m lgbt and it was very difficult for a long time. I never want to be like them instead listen to others, learn from others, form my own beliefs, and just love and accept people. Anyways to whoever reads this: I love you and keep going!💜💜💜
How cool is it that you just invite people to share their assumptions!!! I always have assumptions about people who walk away from the Christian faith. How I would love to have an open conversation with them like you’re doing here!
You are so refreshing You are part of a strict Christian community but you still express tolerance for people who are not like you. I enjoy watching your videos.
I just found you channel and want to thank you for sharing. You are truly good at heart and your message is pure and good. All good things for you and your family!

So interesting to hear! I live in the Finger Lakes in NY so I have grown up coming in contact with a lot of Mennonites and Amish in counties surrounding me. It is interesting to hear you different you are from even these Mennonites!

I was in a Beachy Mennonite church. I felt that there was too much competition among members(If one family did something, the next family would do it better & costlier). I often questioned the woman were told to dress modestly, but the men would wear shorts at home/shirtless at the beach. I guess thats the reason I not there anymore...
I love your videos!!! I used to be apostolic. the last like 7 years I haven't but I've wanted to come back to God and find him again.. I'm 23 and I just feel so much peace and joy when I watch your videos. & I loved your answer on body image! I've had a very difficult time with mine, but having my son, who is almost 2, I have had a more positive thought about my body image so much!

I’ve been watching several of your videos over the past week or so. I so appreciate that you emphasize that your a Christian FIRST and a Mennonite second. I grew up in a Baptist church, but I don’t consider myself as a Baptist, I’m a Christian, I love Jesus and strive to live my life for Him! I think so many people get caught up on their denomination of Christianity and forget Christ. You are a jewel.
You are real, hard working, honest and so relatable! I would love to have a neighbour like you! You are so refreshing and you deserve all the success and happiness in the world. I think Mennonites have fantastic attitudes and you are definetely someone to look up to.

Bosom friends are the best kind. Much better than window friends. 😉
I'm in Southwest Virginia and our Mennonite community is really friendly and kind too.
Im mormon and we have similar lifestyle standards. Its so refreshing to see other women who are like that. Sometimes i am out in the world and feel so alone with the way women of the world are today. Thank you sister! I love learning of your mennonite faith. 🌷🌞🙏
My husband is a former LDS member and I agree. I believe the LDS faith is very similar.
I love this space you’re filming in! That wall & that chair 😍
Yes! I thought the same thing!
Megan.I absolutely love this Q&A .I am learning so much about you and mennonites.I realize not all mennonites are the same as you have said.I didnt find my best friend till I was 34 years old.I met her at church.I actually prayed God would send me a Godly friend and he did.
That's amazing!
We are Presbyterian. I enjoy hearing about the similarities and differences in other religions.
I for sure thought Mennonites didn’t drink alcohol at all.
It’s great to be reminded that even though we live out our faith in different ways, we are sisters in Christ. 🙂
Can sis drop a skincare routine cause, OH WOW
As a fellow Mennonite in Southern IN, you nailed it again Megan! I agree with this whole video👏👏
I agree❤
Loveee the aesthetic happening behind your left shoulder!
You’re very inspiring! I come from a Mennonite town here in Canada. Until I married a Baptist, I truly understood the dress code and how you want to be modest and glorify God in everything you do and wear. Love your videos! 🧡
Megan, I live a life so distinct from yours but I just adore you and your videos. Thanks for being you!
I found your channel because of This Mama's house and wow. This is so cool. I love seeing someone else's views. Thank you for sharing.
We have totally different lifestyles so I find your videos really intriguing and informative! I really appreciate your content for opening my mind to new perspectives - you’re so cool!!
Also if you’re looking for content for an upcoming Q&A I’m curious about what your experience was like growing up?
37:16 "They're [our bodies] a tool for us to do what God wants us to do." I really love how you put that.
❤️❤️❤️Hi Megan!❤️❤️❤️
YOU ARE AMAZING!
It's not that we should unite "religion." It's that we need to unite in Christ, unite in the Truth.
Christians are COMMANDED to judge.
We are called to lead others away from sin and error. But, we are also commanded to not be a hypocrite while judging. So do not believe any "Christian" who says phrases like, "I don't judge others", or "We aren't called to judge", or "People are free to live their lives how they want", or "Only God can judge me"... THIS IS TUPAC THEOLOGY, NOT BIBLICAL THEOLOGY.
John 7:24 - Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
1 Corinthians 2:15 - But he that is spiritual judgeth all things...
2 Timothy 4:2 - Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
Also, Christians are called to be separate from the world, and we must stand against ecumenism.
Thank you Megan, I so wish people of different faiths could do just this, have a conversation with no judgement. As long as a person believes in Jesus Christ has accepted him as their savior and he is lord of our life, that is what is important. We will all be in heaven together. It won't be divided by church denomination.
Exactly! 🧡
Well said
Amen!!!
What if they don't believe in Jesus are you going to judge them then?
Kaitie Marie I'm not judging anyone. I simply stated what I believe.
My two year old picks out what color hair I pick next. I also have tons of tattoos and blue hair. He thinks it’s art.. to each their own. I really love and appreciate your channel. Thank you 🙏
“I can only work with what I got” Classic, in a good way lol
I'm laughing about your comment on always cooking full 4 course meals🤣. I am also a mennonite and a firm believer in leftovers! I intentionally make enough food when I cook supper to have enough for lunch. And all-in-one meals are my go-to meals (like taco salad).
As a Traditional Catholic we are very similar! I enjoyed listening while organizing my basement 😅
Coffee doesn’t alter your state of mind or diminish your cognitive function. I would compare coffee to a B12 shot, not alcohol.
Coffee doesn’t destroy families. Coffee will NEVER get you drunk. That’s the principle.
SallyAnn C My purpose was to encourage Megan, not argue with others on her channel. Take care.
Very refreshing, Megan! Thank you for sharing
I find Mennonite culture interesting, so thank you for the information Megan!
The community that you all have is one of the things that I wish we had. My family is very small and scattered and even our church family isn't as close and open as it could be.
I’m a punk rock Mom and I love your channel! Thank you for putting such great content out. I always look forward to it!
Thanks for making another one of these!! Love hearing about others assumptions about us mennonites and love how you come cross for us!! Amazing video.
This was great! Look forward to part 2!
I am a Christian and I love your videos. I hope you are having a wonderful day! God bless you and your family.
This video was so interesting! I come from a Pentecostal church and we have a lot in common when it comes to values on lifestyle choices.
The fact you even have a camera... this isn’t the cult I grew up in.
Mennonite is not a cult and never has been.
How cool is it that you just invite people to share their assumptions!!! I always have assumptions about people who walk away from the Christian faith. How I would love to have an open conversation with them like you’re doing here!
I love your transparency!! Thanks for being authentic and showing us a glimpse of your culture!
You are so refreshing You are part of a strict Christian community but you still express tolerance for people who are not like you. I enjoy watching your videos.
I just found you channel and want to thank you for sharing. You are truly good at heart and your message is pure and good. All good things for you and your family!
I would love to learn how to make canned food items! Perhaps an idea for a future video? :)
Possibly!!
I am a strong non religious woman but have faith in my own concept of whatever you want to call it and I thoroughly enjoyed you video. You appear to be a genuine human and I appreciate a religious person coming forward and being open about their beliefs i live to learn about all religions.
Excellent job navigating some tough questions! Blessings to you!
So interesting to hear! I live in the Finger Lakes in NY so I have grown up coming in contact with a lot of Mennonites and Amish in counties surrounding me. It is interesting to hear you different you are from even these Mennonites!
I'm with you on the choice of music &I love country bluegrass Christian &older country music.
Your honesty is so refreshing 🥰
This was so interesting. Thank u for sharing your thoughts and and Mennonite life. Love your energy!
I'm not a mennonite but I love watching/listening to you because you're so entertaining and welcoming 💚
This is so facinating!!! Thank you for your information!
Hey I'm new to your channel through My older sister and I love it! 😁❤️🙏 I'm a mom of three and a Christian as well!
Definitely subscribing 😁❤️🙏 God bless!
A little late to the party here, but I’ll be your best friend 🙋🏻♀️ fellow Christian from Maine! You seem SO sweet and genuine and godly. I would love a friend like you 🤍🤍
I was in a Beachy Mennonite church.
I enjoyed watching that. It is a great way to connect.
Im from New York City, I’m in Lancaster PA once a year. I was there 2 weeks ago. It’s a family tradition of ours to go there once a year and stay for a week. We rent a large house and just get away from city life. I love it so much. ♥️
You are a breath of fresh air!!!
Love this! Really loving your videos! helping me through my morning sickness!!!
Thank you for speaking so openly and in a non judgemental way. You're exuding the God I love
People like you remind me that love and kindness are still a part of the world. Thank you for sharing❤️
Very interesting Megan! Very much enjoyed this video.
You are real, hard working, honest and so relatable! I would love to have a neighbour like you! You are so refreshing and you deserve all the success and happiness in the world. I think Mennonites have fantastic attitudes and you are definetely someone to look up to.
I am new to your channel but I have loved your videos about your life and your religion. I’m LDS and I feel like a lot of these same assumptions are made about us. I love how strong you are in your faith and how you don’t hesitate to share that strength.
