Vry good info and nice choice for the luggage! I'm convinced that the wide handle is best as it lets you have a flat bottom and gives more usable packing space. While it doesn't have a good slip-on trolley bag spot, the flat bottom and more packing space more than makes up for that!

In Aug my flight with air Canada was delayed just over 6 hours. I applied online for the compensation and got the e-transfer in just under 3 weeks. Crazy considering my whole flight and hotel package to las Vegas was $568 total. I got $700 in compensation so my trip was free lol.
I’m curious how they will enforce the “families must sit together” rule… Will single passengers be forced to change seats after purchase? If a single person pays for seat selection and is moved to accommodate a family, do they get the seat selection fee back?
That was my thought too. Too many Click Bate stories on social media about someone paying for a specific seat, then asked to move for a family that booked last minute wanting the 1st person's seat.
The lack of no longer getting your passport stamped is a little disappointing but, it also prevents you from not having enough empty pages and being refused entry.
If you want stamps and the experience of running out of pages, just visit Palau as often as is legally possible. On entry, all tourists get the Palau Pledge stamped on an entire page and then you get to do something that happens nowhere else, the border guard orders you to sign and date your acceptance of the pledge (yes its the one time you can legally write in your passport). This happens every time as the pledge is unique to each entry. Or, you can just spend a lot of time and money getting visas to countries and filling the pages that way.
Prior to another family trip flight I binge watched you while I was packing and getting ready at different times for a few days. It was motivational, psyched me up, and I must say I learned quite a bit that made a difference!
I just renewed my passport online. I was shocked to get it in the mail in less than two weeks. I had a professional photographer take my picture digitally. I recommend it as it saved me time and trouble.
Not that long (20 years) ago in Canada you were getting the passport the same day if you paid extra :) and in 2-3 days if you did not. It is remarkable how we can started considering weeks of delay normal.
Thank you for the information. I did start following you as I thought you were Canadian and offered good advice to Cdn travellers, but lately I hear you consistently mention tips for Americans and no mention of Canadians - have you moved or changed your focus, or am I confused!! Thank you!

Going to the UK we need to get an ETA and I did it online right away for a trip in September 2025. I believe the program starts in May 2025 - USA and others need an ETA to get into the UK and it is good for 2-years. I also have my real ID as well. A few states (which have road crossings into Canada) issue “enhanced licenses”, which can be used instead of a passport at said crossings. They require a special application, so you’ll know if you have one. Those count as REAL IDs.
Love your videos. I used to take a very full checked bag on a 2 week trip. Now thanks to your videos and others, I am taking a carry on only on my upcoming 2 Month trip. Merry Christmas to you and your family. Hugs from Ontario.
Thank you for all the information. It's good to know for when we travel next year to the USA. Over here in the Netherlands you get the refund of your ticket automatically after 5 hours delay. It's fully paid, for even hotel stay and car rental.
All great tips. Once again Thank you for keeping us up to date on upcoming changes. Helps all of us avoid situations and allows us to have a stress free relaxing vacation.

Online passport renewal: my spouse and I recently used this program. It was pretty easy, except the uploading of a photograph. It was very picky, and I'm A photographer! There's also no way to renew and get a passport card, unless you have one with your expiring passport. It took about three weeks for our new passports to arrive.
Truly hope online applications work! Last time I did my mail in application, I was notified by State Department that they did not receive my expiring passport about a month after I sent the old passport, form, money order ( application office credit card processing unit did not work.) I I went back to the passport office with a post office connected. Both offices’ clerks had verified that my package was complete. However, I had destroyed previous acquired passports since I had moved a few times within that 9+ years, I had to apply for a naturalization certificate with a hefty fee, US$550, office visits for fingerprinting and form, certified mailing. That was in Mar 2022. In Aug 2022 I received my new and old passports in mail. And I had to wait a few more months to receive my naturalization certificate. So I really really want this online application process work!

Megan - excellent video but you should also include the new UK ETA requirement - it is required for entry beginning on Jan 8, 2025. Best completed using the UK ETA app on your smartphone.
Hopefully all of the TSA systems get updated. I have a real ID, passport and military ID. I was using my military ID and it was accepted by the ticket agent at LAX to check bags but wouldn't scan at TSA for some reason. Thankfully I was coming back from Mexico and had my passport with me.
Although this may have changed with the "Final Rule," each airline often had its own rules about compensating for delays. One of the airlines used to offer a meal voucher if the flight was delayed over two hours (possibly United). JetBlue had a schedule of how much it would pay for delays of a specific length. These individual airline rules vastly differ across carriers, so you have to ask if you can get something based on your situation. A free meal is better than nothing!
I wonder how that ... families flying together ... is going to work. Seats fill up fast, and it's usually the middle seats available for last-minute bookers. Are the airlines going to move other passengers to allow families to fly together?

i will miss getting those STAMPs too !!!! hhahaa,. Useful info as I"m traveling to Europe next year.
Glad it was helpful! Safe travels, Frank!
Any chance you are going back to Da Nang in the new year? I'm a fellow Canadian flying YYZ-TPE-HAN-DAD on Jan 31st and would love to buy you dinner.
Thank you so much for the offer! I do have travel plans coming up in January but Da Nang is not on the agenda. Hope you enjoy your time there!
Great video but it’s E E S. not E S S. 😊
Even one of the slides is incorrect as states ESS instead of EES.
You're right! Thanks for the catch!
And check how to correctly pronounce Schengen, too.
Thank you 🙏.!!! You explained correctly and easy to understand . !!!
Glad to hear that!
