It is very nice to have someone explain how to take the Sumatra guns apart as I'm sure they are all pretty much the same. I did not know how to remove the hammer and valve and now I know so i can change that "O" ring if need be ! Thank you for a job well done !
I truly enjoy your videos. I,m thinking about buying a .45 cal Sam Yang & down the line doing a tune also. I,m a retired tool & die maker & have a small machine shop at home. I,m not a gun smith but trying to learn what I can about Air Rifles & thank you for the help. Keep up the great videos you make, for they are a joy to watch.
Know I am years behind on this video but I got a 909 & although this isn't the 909 you showed it helps give me some ideas to work on mine. Your video was very good in demonstration.
Thank you. I have just discovered your videos and am very impressed by your detail, your variety of videos, and of course your long distance shooting. Well done.
nice and informative videos . after your "mild tune" the jump in velocity was large, and after watching you other video with this rifle i would say it improved the accuracy also thanks for showing this. I have been thinking of going to a 30+ caliber air rifle and was wondering if the Sam Yang was worth the money.
excellent video, thank you for putting the time and effort into making this. I have a Recluse and 909 on order and this will help me greatly. Once again thanks
Thanx John. One thing i can vouch for from personal experience with BOTH the guns you have coming is that, they look much better in person than what you see on websites. You are going to like the looks and performance of both. If you choose to tune, they are pretty simple to work on Congrats and enjoy!
Tofazfou Well the recluse has arrived = happy air gunner, if you would not mind could you ask your machinist if they would not mind making up another cocking handle, and posting to Australia if possible, I would pay through paypal or call them with CC. If they willing could you let me know and I contact you through the yellow or GTA forums for details. Cheers
I am trying to convince a very good "back-yard" Airgun Smith, to bottle my single tube Recluse with a 22ci bottle. I need the additional air, but persoanlly cannot stand the look of the dual tubes myslef. He will too do the "medium tune" and polish, smooth out and de-burr all of the internals, especially the trigger assembly. Plan is to fully integrate the bottles gauge into the forearm of the Recluse's forearm (like the bottled Mrods and Daystates), giving it a more cleaner and professional finish. Cannot wait for this to take place! Thank you for sharing! p.s. I will not be switching out the barrel, as now have two rounds that out shoot round ball and the JSB rounds, producing up to 167-fpe without tune! Awesome stuff! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Cedric, AGW.
+AirGunWarriors OKAY, OKAY....i won't ask too many questions but boy do you have me curious with your future build. I agree with you also about the double tube design. I would love to see either a bottle like what your referring too or just 1 bigger OD airtube like on the older Dragon Slayers. I also agree that the OEM 20" twist barrels are accurate when you have the right slug. Mine loves the 105 gr SWC as well as some others. The LEE 105 gr SWC worked great in both the 1-16" and 1-20" twist barrels.
+Tofazfou I will make an attempt to make a video as clear, informative and concise as yours when finished.:) Yes, a larger diameter single tube would be a lot nicer/lighter and look better than the dual tubes. But, I am thinking will get much more volume of air with 22ci bottle. Amazing how powerful the Sam Yang Recluse already is before a medium tune, especially considering its price. For me, it is a "true" big-bore, in that you are not limited so much as to slug weight/size (as long as twist weight is in line with slug) and it produces 100+fpe. Amazes me how some factories release a .357/9mm big-bore airgun, that cannot even produce at least 100-fpe straight from the box. There are some factory made Big-Bores in .357/9mm that can barely produce that much more energy than some of the factory made .30 airguns or cannot even produce a minimum of 100-fpe and its like..."why bother"? Thank you again very much for the tutorial, AGE.
+AirGunWarriors In OEM form, they gun is very capable. Nothing wrong with it powerwise there. For the person who is not interested in MODDING for more power, i still suggest cleaning up the action and doing some MAJOR trigger work. The trigger is bloody aweful.
+AirGunWarriors AGW, thanks for the Kudo's and i too agree with you on the double tube thingy. I too would prefer like one big 1.25" tube or something close to that. A bottle isn't too bad an idea as long as the barrel is kept at 24" or shorter IMO. But a nice long fat tube would be my idea of a good time.....lol! I also agree that many airgun manufacturers now are getting into the MID (big) bore rhelm and that awesome. But for 2000 Bucks, i too want more than 100-140 FPE for that kinda money. A big 35 cal pellet moving at 700+ fps simply isn't sexy or my cup o tea.
great stuff! real world environment gives me real world shooting prospective of the recluse. but i cant seem to find theTofazfou show that demonstrates the after market barrel for the mild upgrade samyang recluse.
I there a way to drain the pressure on this gun without dry shooting? Very good video, learned alot, this is my first big bore air gun and I want to be hands on.
I was really impressed with your Air force talon condor 257 shooting a targets at 400 yard plus !!!!! is there any way I can make my sam yang more accurate ? It is very powerfull but accuracy is only good about 60 yards then it opens up. Thanks.
Willing to tune a single tube Sam Yang Recluse, and lighten up the trigger pull? Would be greatly appreciated! Please let me know. Thanks, Al/Aeromagnum.
Is there any way to convert to a carbon fiber bottle for more air capacity without making it look gawdy? I finally shouldered a single tube for the first t time the other day, and it fit like a glove! Thanks for this informative video Cedric!:)
great video, thanks... I have a 2500 Sumatra... All of a sudden it has lost power, on high it is only getting about 750 FPS and low setting is about 400FPS... it was like over night it changed.. do you think it might be the hammer spring??? also does the Sumatra come apart similar to your San Yang ???
Kratos000S Returns are still covered under warranty most times and usually cost hundreds less. Also, this gun is pretty reliable, so a refurb was probably delivered with a scratch in the stock or something. Get the refurb, if your not rich.
Thanks for a decently explained, and detailed look at your Sam Yang Recluse PCP. I especially enjoyed the brief tutorial concerning polishing, and lightening of the weight over the factory trigger setup. I must confess to being somewhat of a "trigger nut". You seem to obtain very decent velocity for this gun on low power. Would I be correct in assuming that shot count be one reason you prefer low, over high power? Ciao Prunesqualler
Well, the object is to be able to push PELLETS and ROUND BALLS on low power at decent speeds. 650+ fps on low power in OEM form just doesn't cut it for me. Then, on high power, i can push cast bullets at good speeds also. Low power allows me to have a couple more consistent shots (shot count) over high power while still providing damned good stopping power for small to medium game. So i should be able to go for jack rabbits and coyotes simply by inserting a bullet or pellet and going from low to high power or vice versa. Hell, with 860-880 fps with 81 gr JSB pellets, low power is plenty for coyotes also out to a certain range. There is still a lot of testing to do and a lot of theory to still prove..............
tofazfou hello, I've seen many of your excellent videos and was waiting for will publish this as I have a sam yang recluse of 500 cc. since I am a fan of these rifles, but also I would like to have more power regardless sacrifice the number of shots, I'll put a lot atenció of your work and try to change mine, my English is not very good so I will have to have patience, thank you for your information, I would ask why you did not use all the power to measure speed?
I've watched this video several times and I appreciate you sharing your knowledge. I have had my Dragon Claw 500cc tuned, but I'm still not happy with the power. Getting about 310 FPE max with 280 gr slugs. I still have the original hammer spring, so I really want to put a spacer or shim like you did (that was not done on my tune) also, I'd like to open up the hole in the end of the valve. I'm wondering, do I have to still remove the barrel and totally disassemble the gun just to put in the shim behind the hammer spring ?? Thank you for you videos !!
Tofazfou my same yang recluse has an issue with the bolt blowing open when firing. this allows air to blowback out through the breech is this a breech seal issue or something else i need to look at i didn't see you cover this seal in your video. i have did some research and they breech seal seems to be a common issues with these if you have insite please send me and email.
I love my .50 dragon claw. But I want to change the stock to a tactical sliding or folder. The Remington 870 stocks look like they will bolt up with a little modification. Has this been done that you know of ?
Diego, if air leaks back OUT from the fill nipple when you remove the airhose, then your fill nipple either needs to be replaced or rebuilt. They are simple to work on. WITH THE AIRTUBE EMPTY, you simply unscrew the fill nipple and replace it with a new one or rebuild it with a rebuild kit.
you have to shoot the gun till its completely empty. All airguns currently SHOULD have some sort of special degassing tool like Benjamin guns do. It should be a lot easier than shooting all the air from the gun.
TheMisterg34 If your referring to the MAG and BOLT locking up then yes, i too would assume you double loaded a couple pellets. I hate that...................

Casting your own pellets.?. Awesome.. 2 thumbs up.

HeyGreat video! Will a 24" flat head be long enough?
Tofazfou, will this video apply to the .50 Dragon Claw? I've been waiting for someone to make a DIY video for Sam Yang. Thank You, A. B.
tofazfou hello, I've seen many of your excellent videos and was waiting for will publish this as I have a sam yang recluse of 500 cc. since I am a fan of these rifles, but also I would like to have more power regardless sacrifice the number of shots, I'll put a lot atenció of your work and try to change mine, my English is not very good so I will have to have patience, thank you for your information, I would ask why you did not use all the power to measure speed?

Awesome video! I have Shin Sung 201 9mm - I'm looking for a O ring kit for it. Any idea where I can get it? Thanking you in advance.
the crohny numBERs "OEM" are without tunning ???
I have the single cylinder recluse. Can you remove the trigger group only without complete disassembly?
I have a Sumatra 2500 and would like to know where you get the spanner wrench for the barrel and the screwdriver to remove it?
Hi great video can you tell me where you got the long screw driver?
Where did you buy your long screw driver from? having some trouble finding one
thanks man I got her tight I have the single tube what fps u think with 165gr Mr hollow point slugs
Does anyone know the valve od or if they make a regulator for the 500cc cylinder in the recluse .357?
Does this disassembly and tuning apply to the sumatra 2500 also?
How loud compared to a .22 and do you think it is under 110 db on low power
Yes, LDC's are made for all the calibers
is there a easy wasy to drain pressure other than dry shooting?
David Seiler No sir! Unfortunately, there is no easy or quick way to degas the airtubes.
cool, you remind me of my brother
what size head is on your long screwdriver mine just to small it's long enough but it just goes in the middle and my butt stock it wiggle
+Jasper Green Off the top of my head, about 3/8" wide +-
hey man love your videos would you be willing to sell that barrel you took off that gun
+Damiamdd Williams Sold it already after i removed it.
Is a 36" screwdriver long enough to reach the valve?
+blackdiesel yes sir
hay whats up tofaz where can i pick up on of those cocking bolts
I had mine custom made
With the long screw driver to take off the butt is it a phillips or flat head?
Timothy Hicks flat head
I love my .50 dragon claw. But I want to change the stock to a tactical sliding or folder. The Remington 870 stocks look like they will bolt up with a little modification. Has this been done that you know of ?
Where do they sell spare parts of this gun ?

Does anybody know what to do when your air rifle leaks air from where you put the air in. it's a 50 caliber
+Tofazfou do you have any a guns for sale
No Sir
If you want to practice tuning a 909S 45 cal let me know and I will send you mine to tune LOL
BD,
What does you bore MIC at if you know?
Tofazfou I haven't slugged it but Will Piatt said they are .4565
How do you depressurize the tubes
you have to shoot the gun till its completely empty.
All airguns currently SHOULD have some sort of special degassing tool like Benjamin guns do. It should be a lot easier than shooting all the air from the gun.
Tofazfou Jus had a 2500 lock up, seems like there is more than one pellet went into the entrance
TheMisterg34
If your referring to the MAG and BOLT locking up then yes, i too would assume you double loaded a couple pellets. I hate that...................
Tolong bagikan cara servis samyang sumatra
U So Handsome
Oh thank you SWEETIE......lol
Your making a girl blush and stuff................
Some hunting video with this monster please :)
