The men who have built their careers off the back of Mumbais' maidans need to give back to the beautiful tradition to keep it living long and plant the seed for future talents. A society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shade they shall never sit
Lee Haseley The process of ageing and the rough & tumble of real life experiences are the sources of humility not just Nasser's but of almost all human beings. One exception appears to be Atherton who almost certainly didn't know the meaning of humility...he was always an absolute mediocre cricketer, who persisted in overestimating his cricketing skills & abilities. I suspect, as England's opening batsman & captain, Atherton fancied himself as a modern day version of that great, elegant, humble, & successful opening batsman & captain of England ( 1951-56), the Yorkshireman, Sir Len Hutton ( Test batting average 52...highest score 364 at The Oval 1938 Vs Bradman's mighty Australia ....won the Ashes 1953-54 tour of Australia etc against overwhelming odds) Yet, when Atherton retired he had nothing to shout either about his Test captaincy or his batting average. Even after retirement, his lack of humility & bias showed up as a commentator ( both on Sky Sports TV & The Telegraph ), especially blatantly in his views of Indian cricketers( including Sachin Tendulkar !). In his early days, Atherton's mentor was the England captain & a great opening batsman, Graham Gooch, who had a lot to shout about his achievements for England, yet he always spoke with humility. It seems, Atherton didn't learn much from Graham Gooch. What a wasted opportunity. 5/7/20
@@rajnikantchande2677 Atherton's career might have tumbled into mediocrity but his columns are excellent. Much more insightful than any other cricket writer going around.

Gaurav Kapoor's team can probably do that.... I would like an Indian production house and a foreign production house taking up the challenge. The foreign channels bring in a diff pov. Nervetheless good video...good content... Please make the videos longer... Like a 3 or 4 part series. We Indians do love Cricket. .
Perhaps the fact that Nasser Hussain looks like a traffic light should've raised some alarm bells...
Where's the green? lol
SKY Sports jaundice special. So much effort to make it look poor.
Very bad
@Akshay Vara There is no official colour of India.
This is the same as what the western media does when they show Mexico and South American nations. And they do the same for the sub-continent.
Thanks Sky for coming up with this episode. Gave that sense about how Mumbai is home of cricket in India.
when you are young, you dont care of sun, dust, sweat anything..... all you want is to play.
Too much talent
So many features of Indian cricketers
U will find on this maidan
When Nasser Hussain looks more like Yogi Adityanath, you know something is wrong.
I was fortunate enough to see Nasser during the recording of this documentary. Surprisingly my captain asked him to get off the pitch since he didn't recognise him. I was like, dude you have just asked such thing to former England skipper😂
The travelling, the bus ride, the walking. Just like the country days, these were amazing days, amazing
The men who have built their careers off the back of Mumbais' maidans need to give back to the beautiful tradition to keep it living long and plant the seed for future talents. A society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shade they shall never sit
Great work SKY SPORTS CRICKET, you guys just made my day.
dont know about the day but they surely made rasna out of India
Yeah, I too like the soft drink Rasna.
Why dafaq can't u guyz just comment on the positive side of the video....instead of criticizing the only negative aspect of this story.
Cricket takes me to a different world, specially these documentaries
please keep these kinda documentaries coming along.. it's good for the game
Ravi shastri- the name , the personality, the voice, the player ,the coach and the whisky lmao.
Never seen Nasser show so much humility
Lee Haseley
The process of ageing and the rough & tumble of real life experiences are the sources of humility not just Nasser's but of almost all human beings.
One exception appears to be Atherton who almost certainly didn't know the meaning of humility...he was always an absolute
mediocre cricketer, who persisted in overestimating his cricketing skills & abilities.
I suspect, as England's opening batsman & captain, Atherton fancied himself as a modern day version of that great, elegant, humble, & successful opening batsman & captain of England ( 1951-56), the Yorkshireman, Sir Len Hutton ( Test batting average 52...highest score 364 at The Oval 1938 Vs
Bradman's mighty Australia
....won the Ashes 1953-54 tour of Australia etc against overwhelming odds)
Yet, when Atherton retired he had nothing to shout either about his Test captaincy or his batting average.
It
seems, Atherton didn't learn much from Graham Gooch. What a wasted opportunity.
5/7/20
@@rajnikantchande2677 Atherton's career might have tumbled into mediocrity but his columns are excellent. Much more insightful than any other cricket writer going around.
I would like a documentary on English cricket with overcast cloud cover backdrop and damp wickets with a smog filter
When was the last time Ravi Shastri had a smile in his life ??
He spoiled the video
Every evening..after 8pm..😂
When Dhoni got him stuff from military canteen
Have played on these maidens for 7 years travelling 2 hours every day so yes we did take our cricket seriously
10:54 , on the left, is it yashasvi jaiswal?
Ahh this was a great video.. Showed both the good and bad sides od Maidan Cricket.... Well mostly good.... But they can make a full fledged series on Maidan Cricket in different states.....
Also the same concept can be applied to SriLanka or West Indies...after watching Kumar Sangakkara's interview I definitely love to learn more about cricket in diff countries.
Nasser Hussain is a great pic for documentaries..would love to see more of him
Great show Nasir. Waiting for your part two. I guess this show must have recorded last year. Also would be great to see you in Chennai if any video is recorded there, your childhood birth place and your family roots. Cheers. Thanks
@9:14 Yedurappa is trying to listen to their conversation from behind
🤣🤣🤣
😂😂
