Another great day out with Emma & Johnny. Out of town this time too. Great statues. I remember the first Stones concert you mentioned in 73, but hadn’t known how we got the tickets - so a big thanks to Kidder for doing that.
Best year for me was 76, when we saw them at Leicester and also Knebworth. What a loong day that was!
Looking forward to the next trip and video, guys.
The first music concert I went to was Stones in the Park in '69 when.i was 13 with my schoolfriend Bob!
Like you Johnny, there are so many 'favourite' songs but these immediately come to mind!
Sympathy for the Devil
You Can't Always Get What You Want
Yer Blues
Country Honk
Oh and so many more!
It's an Iconic Gig. The first one with out Brian Jones. I Love Country Honk. Thanks for the comment.
It's Only Rock n Roll but I Like It 😍
Like It Like It Yes I Do!!!! Thanks for the comment.
Ha! Was on that coach trip to Rotterdam too. Fun times.
Great days..
Another great little film about my favourite band.. Loved the imagined 'Sliding Doors' moment with Mick carrying Charley Drake albums instead of Blues😂😂😂
Yes Brad... History could have been so different.
Another fantastic outing you two.I like the street names and the plaque on the station. That day they met changed everything. A couple of my favourite tunes are Beast of Burden, Waiting on A Friend, Gimme Shelter and Whole Wide World off the new one. So many FANTASTIC songs. Regardless of age, Mick would have to be the best front man ever. Im waiting for them to tour Australia. I really love all your videos. Great work as usual. Keep 'em coming. Rock on!
Thanks for the comment Barry. Beast Of Burden Is a classic. and so is Whole Wide World which proves my point... They have still got it.
I was looking at the statue part of the video again, and was wondering what chord Keith was playing? I now know he does G tuning on his guitar, so “drop D” on the 1st string. My decision is that he is not playing a chord, but is playing part of the action on “Brown Sugar”, where he barres the neck and plays his fingers on and off, making the duh-duh sound in the intro.
The sculptress has created the images wonderfully, especially the guitar! Well done Amy Goodman on such a brilliant visual of the Glimmer Twins!
Very Deep.. Thanks for the comments.
Last Christmas Pete was talking about getting a turntable so we could listen to some of our old records. He didn't get around to it so I bought him Hackney Diamonds on vinyl and it did the trick. Great classic Stones. One thing I noticed was that Mick didn't sing in so much of an American accent, in fact, and I didn't want to tell you at the time in case it annoyed you, I thought he sounded like Johnny Black!
Irene... Like I said in the film The Stones are still making great music and Hackney Diamonds is proof of that, but at this stage in life I'd much rather have Jaggers waist size than sound like him. thanks for leaving a comment.
Love it Al. Almost as obsessed as me! 😂
Cheers Paul. Thanks for the comment and subscribing.
6:12 I thought Bill Wyman asked for the wording of the plaque to be changed(?)
I read that also...but not sure what his reasons are???
@@ThisIsBlackScarr He was sour about the statement as it implies that Mick and Keith started the band although it was Brian who did. Since the Dartford council acknowledged their mistake and agreed to change the wording but obviously didn't, I looked into what happened. As it turns out, Mick threw his weight around and pushed for the plaque to stay as it was, so the council simply had to follow orders.
@@ALTekon7 If true very petty on Mick's behalf.
