My pair have been doing extremely well - staying plump and well-fed - in this size Exo. I might house a single in a smaller Exo but they really do make use of the space... they move around the vines like roller coaster tracks.
The babies are adorible, and they DO look like mini leaches! Also those "ventalation holes" you mentioned are actually to feed wires down into the terrarium. I have several digital thermometers with probes, and those holes allow me to feed the probe down into the cage and keep the display where I can easily see it w/o pinching the wires. But you're right, if you have tiny lizards or snakes, you have to be careful and make sure they are closed!
@CarmelCrestys They are pretty much almost exactly the same care-wise as cresties! Just in smaller proportion, with more vines than thick branches (think finger-width for adults, smaller for young ones), and with more live food available than for cresties. Breeding is a little different but not by much.
It's a horrible rainy day here too, but I guess that's cause we're not that far away. I'm also in IL, in the LaSalle area. The hatchlings you showed us are just ADORABLE. So tiny, it's amazing!
@lemniscate47 It's Great Stuff foam, and I covered over it with black silicone and coconut fiber (and allowed it to cure for actually a couple of months... it sets quickly but the fumes are really strong for a while).
OK. Thanks, JB. I posted a photo of a little netsuke gecko that I was given for my birthday on your FB Wall, because I think it looks just like Philippe. Thanks again for all the videos.
Different people do different things... the Exo Terra I am using for a pair is 12 inch x12 inch x18 inch tall (sorry, you will have to do conversions). A single gecko should do fine in that size as well.
JB, why is it that you seem to be the cause of most of my reptile addictions? First it was Cresteds, and now I'm in love with your little Eury's... On the up side though, my husband (who is normally a stickler when it comes to bringing new animals in) is the one that is already planning a cage for if/when we get one, all because he saw your night vision hatchling video and fell in love...
Great video. I love those little aggies. What material is the brown food-dish holder made of, please? I watched the vid twice and couldn't quite catch what you said. Thanks. First time I've seen one of those new little Exo Terra vivs. Very attractive, as well as practical.

They look so healthy! Love the way they walk.

Great video, I really appreciate you showing how you've been keeping the newborns. Its very informative!
(Also this exo is only equal to about a 10 gallon tank... these geckos aren't -super- tiny, they get 4-5 inches long.)
OK. Thanks, JB.

It's the ExoTerra Nano Tall - I think about 9x9x12 inch?

@Camstatic They're not -as- easy to find as cresties, but if you look on some reptile trade forums you may be able to find a few.

They're so cute! Love em. :)
@microiguana Yes, if you put too much stuff in the bottom, they can ingest it, or their live food (roaches, fruit flies) will disappear into it.
@microiguana Paper towel essentially would serve the same purpose the coffee filter does - no need for it. Probably my dogs.
@stolenmilkcrate I know. I assumed there would be paper towels and maybe some other enriching rock or something. who is scratching in the background?
barebottom tupperware container?? oh yeah, and complimentary words on all the good eurydacdos, and stuff :P
god i love your lizards
Naaaaawww, I love them! I want one! But I assume this isn't a gecko that's easy to find.
@Kitishane Mwahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaa... *steeples fingers*
@nakkimo Yes, I just hate ExoTerra backgrounds. They're ugly as sin and these geckos don't use them much.
wow beautiful lizards, jelouse lol :) have fun with your lizards, check out my animals.
