The cyclic alkanes have a more rigid structure since rotation around the carbon-carbon bond is prohibited, although partial rotation becomes possible for the larger ring sizes. Use a molecular modelling kit if you have one to compare the degree to which rotation is possible as the ring size increases. Other than that there are also differences in physical properties such as melting points and boiling points when comparing like for like e.g. hexane to cyclohexane.

No that's not the case.... Cyclohexane involves just the single bond while , benzene has alternate double bonds.. That's all the basic difference at very first sight
i m gonna leave my tuition classes !
u r just too gooood!
I'm currently a freshman in organic chem I + lab and this video truly helped me a lot!
THANK YOU. I FINALLY UNDERSTAND HOW TO PICK THE RIGHT PARENT CHAIN
What is the basic difference between alkanes and cyclo alkanes other then structural properties?

@@stargazer4023 thanks!
Thank you for this
You are a hero
Thank you.
Thank you so very very much
Fantastic
nice
